Why doesn`t that make sense? I think Arsenal will slip up at Chelsea, Chelsea have the depth to go until May with more wins than United/Goons, and its only a matter of time before the Goons start losing. We won`t win anything this season (apart from the Charity Shield when we beat Arsenal, in Cardiff ;) ) and I just have a gut-feeling its Chelsea`s year. If Henry becomes injured, tired, gets ill, gets bored or signs for Madrid (watch this space) then Arsenal are fooooked! No Henry, no 3 points. ;)

Chelsea maybe 1 point within man utd but I don't think they have the staying power and the title experience to compete this season. Man utd/arsenal have been there done that and got the t-shirt. Chelsea are still learning the title trade, winning when the team aint playing to well. That lampard/parker combo seems to be working well, and itshould be a great tussle with vieria and edu on sunday. bring on the blues x2!

Chelsea are a good team but a top teams bad spell is uasually a couple of games. Chelsea's bad spell was a couple of months. Not slagging Chelsea of but I don't think they have what it takes THIS year.

Real Madrid and Chelsea to reach agreement over Owen and Ronaldo
Real Madrid's very public overtures towards Thierry Henry and Ruud van Nistelrooy this week were predictable and designed to cover up an unprecedented agreement between the Madrid club and Chelsea over what will be the biggest transfer deal of the summer.

According to our sources Chelsea's two main summer targets are Michael Owen and Ronaldo, with the club also set to sell Hasselbaink and Gudjonsen. Owen is top of the wishlist of Sven Goran Erikkson who will take over the manager's position at Stamford Bridge, irrespective of what Claudio Ranieri achieves this season.

It's been widely reported today that Chelsea will offer Ronaldo around £200,000 a week to join them in the summer, as well as paying Madrid a transfer fee of around £25m. Chelsea have also proposed that in return for agreeing the sale of the Brazilian, they will sign an agreement which states they will not make any kind of bid for Owen, and although Erikkson would love the Liverpool man, Roman Abramovich is determined to land the mega-star his team lacks.

Madrid meanwhile will bank the Ronaldo transfer money, plus whatever they get when they sell Figo, probably to one of the Milan clubs after Euro2004, enabling them bid for Owen. Real Madrid President Floretino Perez would love Henry or van Nistelrooy, but he has privately conceded that neither player wants to move to Spain, nor do their respective clubs have any intention of selling no matter what's offered. With Owen stalling on a new deal at Liverpool and with under 18 months left on his contract, Madrid are confident that they can land the player for far less than they would have to pay for any other of Europe's top strikers.

It is believed that Owen's representatives have already sounded out alternatives should Liverpool fail to qualify for the Champions League (Owen's frustration at not playing at the highest level is well documented) and the player has been advised of the interest of both clubs. It's not known where his preference lies, but the glamour of Real Madrid, plus the chance to link up with England captain David Beckham may just swing things towards Spain.

More on this as it develops.

In all honestly, i dont want any strikers to come to the club. A solid centerback, and a right fullback is all we need. Our squad is good enough. Definitely the midfield.

i actually think ronaldo will go to chelsea or inter this summer
chelsea need to sign world class players now, theyve signed lots of great players (although i rate crespo one of the best strikers in the world) they need a vieria - henry - ruud type player in there team

I disagree. The players they already have are great. When Chelsea gel, big things will happen at Stamford Bridge. By the way, whats with the L`pool avatar? I would never have a scouser in my avatar. Yuck. You don`t seem like a true S`Land fan, Super Mick. You are always going on about how much you hate United, and love Arsenal. Where is the Sunderland thread? I would start one if that was my club.

IF this goes thru, dont you think Real will put the difference earned by the Ronaldo/Owen moves towards getting a stalwart CB? They have got to address their defensive issues at some point.

No they won't.

Perez(I don't know how often this has been told) won't get any defender, he think of it as a sign of weakness.

Anyway about Real, they want the best (attacking) players in the world right? I would certainly NOT sell Ronaldo. Raul is worse, but he's Real's current Symbol. Figo for Totti would be the best thing to do imo. I don't know if it will happen though.

Henry is out of the FA Cup clash tomorrow boys, now I would defo put my money on Chelsea . . . .

Looks like we gotta beat you without our main man TH14 :x But we've done it all before and hopefully we'll do it again. :D

1) Gronkjaer's goal was perfectly on side. We were denied. Arsenal were very Lucky.
2) Superb goal by Mutu.
3) Good strike by Reyes (he's learnt to shoot in the correct direction)
4) Just how many pies and haggis' has Sullivan eaten? I want to see Macho challenging for 2nd choice keeper now that he's back from injury)
5) I don't envisage any silverware coming our way this season.
6) Damn :x in general.

Easy to lol afterwards misfit...

its not chelsea im laughin at(although i had 2-1 to gunners predicted)but rather the fact that most people actually thought chelsea will win the tie cos henry isnt playin....

Was Gronkjaer's goal really onside? I got the indication from a neutral commentator that it wasn't too harsh. Anyway, I'll have a look when they show the highlights. Have to see the Reyes' gaosl.

Chelsea give a great game, by the way. Commiserations to you lot, after playing well.

Misfit you are the last person who can laugh in these forums - your ridiculous L`pool predictions are ALWAYS wrong. "I reckon we`ll beat Man City 3-0" etc. You are the laughing stock (as are L`pool) ;)

I`ve only been playing Predicts for about 3 weeks, Misfit! You transfer speculation makes me laugh, your preditions make me laugh, and so does the team who you support . . . (All in a good tone, it`s all banter) ;)

As for Chelsea, they were shite in the 2nd half, its gotta be said.,

what??i never once told ya ronaldinho would sign for ya lot??

I didn`t say anything about the Brazilian joining United either!?? I don`t believe what the Daily Sport says, mate. Ronaldhino decided to join a big club that never wins anything! You`d know all about these sort of teams . . . .

Question for the Chelsea boys: Who is your captain at the moment? I`ve never noticed!
