Spoken like a true Sun reader. Robben's been tapped up mate - only one club have made an (illegal) offer. I'm sure other clubs will start sniffing around now. Maybe you'll get him, but are you seriously telling me this kid dreamt of wearing a Man Utd shirt when he was younger? Emulating his heroes Bailey and Moran? Ronaldinho said he dreamt of playing for Manchester, then he said it was Barcelona! Let's face it Vann, footballers are full of shit and when it suits you, you lap it up.

lol I dont buy/read any rags mate but according to the guardian..

Van Raaij said " we are not going to report United to Uefa. They had approached us in the past to say that they were interested."

And im not saying he's a united supporter, thats got nothing to do with it but if you see what she said about madrid in the dutch press you'd see what I mean. anyway his hero might be Arnold Muhren, a dutch legend who played for United :)

Its not our fault Ronaldinho went in the papers and put a United shirt on and said he wants to play for us, no-one at our club made him do that, it was cos he was desperate to play at OT, and its him who looks a c*nt afterwards, lol and the nob-jockey responsible for that fuck up isnt even on our payroll anymore. Anyway that wasnt the point, the point was that PSG didnt see any reason why he would wanna go to chelsea.

Whys that??

Don't know. Chelsea confirmed the Duff, Veron bids as they happened but there was never any mention of Bucky so that would be a good reason he would not want to join. Never being asked in the first place is a persuasive argument.

Why would a Brazilian go to Manchester? Coronaçion St? ;)

The PSG president was probley just plucking names out of the sky then ey...

Im sure not many people wanna go to manchester when you look at climate lol, but if your a footballer then of course your gonna want to play for arguably the biggest club in the world.

Or doesnt that make sense to you....

Chelsea have the richest owner in the whole of football, he can afford to buy anyone and outbid anyone, but the money alone isnt gonna persuade some players to go.

To create an auction?

Not really. Whats the point in going to a good club (if slightly full of it's own self-importance) - but where you can't understand the people and theres no one you can talk to, the manager smells of stale whiskey, it rains all the time and there's no decent restaurants. Not a great quality of life.

Chelsea have the richest owner in the whole of football, he can afford to buy anyone and outbid anyone, but the money alone isnt gonna persuade some players to go.

True, but a 'glorious history' won't convince people either. No amount of trophies you've won convinced Shearer to join. Some people don't want to go to certain clubs.

Well whatever you think when talking about transfers recently the comments "I could've gone elsewhere for more money

Every player says this.

Ah but we've done okay regardless who does/doesnt sign, wheareas you get sad c*nts like shearer who would do anything for a another shot at glory.

Funny thing with shearer is that he says he went to Newcastle for the love, funny that they had to offer and pay him more than we would pay because of the strict pay structure in place at OT at that time.

Of course I dont think eveyone wants to play for us, but if you think that clubs like United, Liverpool and Arsenal dont have have more pull regardless of the money then fair enough, but until your new owner the bridge had hardly got a place in football history.

That isn't what I said. I said the 'Big Clubs' you mentioned had no real pulling power when it comes to signing 'Big' players. What you're talking about is signing kids who, if they couldn't play football, you would be dismissing as plastics.

As for a place in history, so what? Only teams who were good in the 60's are allowed to win anything? If history is so important, why do you take the mick out of Liverpool? Their success dwarfs little 'ol man u!

lol okay T.

For one I never said "big players" or "stars" they we're your words, if its too difficult to get your head round all you have to do is look at United/Arsenals signings and the success they have, if the players we'rent big when they got here but are big now, then that says it all, and if you dont think that going to a club that has a proven track record for developing talent doesnt appeal to a player then fair enough.

As for history it can work for or against you, in lfc's case its against, sometimes it works out like that, in time it'll work against us aswell, once you've set them standards its hard to live up to, you's havent even set any standards yet, how many years since the title?? LOL and then you use us and lfc like we're a million miles apart interms of trophies they've won two more Euro Cups and a few more titles (albeit the old 1st div). We've won it in two different era's (great now, great then!!) and they havent even got their name in the new Prem trophy. So comparisons arent that far off, only the fact that they cant emulate thier past is a weight on their shoulders that we dont have yet.

Cut the crap Vann. You know you won't ever match Liverpool no matter how much you waffle.

But you're right about one thing, the last few years are the most succesful we've had and I'm glad that's it's been in my lifetime - not the history books.

Chelsea To Sign Hatem Trabelsi

Chelsea and Ajax have agreed to terms for Tunisian full-back Hatem Trabelsi. A deal between Trabelsi and Chelsea will be concluded in the next few days.

The speedy defender has been linked with moves to other English clubs but it appears that Chelsea will secure his services. This move will certainly spell the end for Mario Melchiot at Chelsea.

The Dutch international's contract is up at the end of the season and he will not be offered a new contract.

I've only heard of him when some other club was after him. Is he any good?

He is in my opinion very, very good Terry...
He's a very offensive minded player with (for a defender) outstanding technical skills...
If he really goes to Chelsea, it means they have a top transfer....

He used to be a right winger before he was converted to full back so hes very attack minded, very good at crossing and hes got pace to burn hes definatly a crowd pleaser.dunno where the Dutch international thing came from though coz he plays for Tunisia

He had a bad first year because he had an achilles injury, but then came into the team and played really well and scored some important goals (scored about 60% of his goals against Man u weirdly enough).

The last year and a half he's been Ok, but his attention span has gone a bit Rio. He gets caught napping far too much these days.

And for some reason, Ranieri has never really liked him. I hope he goes to a good club, maybe Ajax again?

Are Chelsea really signing Trabelsi? Never saw it mentioned on Sky, or did I just miss it? He's an excellent player, although I don't think he's the best defender, but very good coming forward. Remember him best from the last couple of years when playing Celtic, looked useful going forward (at Parkhead anyway), but not too great at the back, Bobby Petta had the better of him in Amsterdam if I can remember.

I saw a lot of him on TV and he does look a good player, how much?

Yeah we we're sniffing round him but Koeman wasnt keen on selling.

There touting him as a Thuram type player, cant be bad.

LOL if we cant match liverpool with them only having a few more trophies than us, then it doesnt give chelsea or arsenal any chance of ever matching us, fair enough.

I suggest we stop this stupid argument Vann...i saw a top 10 of teams in the history of league football in the Rough guide to Cult football:Wolves were 4th, preston North End 6th, Sunderland 7th and Burnley 10th...they are hardly world powers in 21st century football...

It's like somebody said: i'm glad that Chelsea are good NOW....
My favourite team once played a semi-final in UEFA-cup...great and glorious...today they don't exist anymore...

Nah me & T dont argue gerd we have some okay discussions but they dont get out of hand, but ya right best to leave it be.

Chelsea are up there now and thats what counts I guess.

Looks like the mighty Cudicini is back in net tonite also Crespo is apparently back from injury.

No such look for the scousers on the injury front though, they still have a host of players out but Owen is a maybe to start.

I was looking forward to watching this at the pub tonite, but im going bolton now so i'll be listening out for the score at half-time instead.

Gerd, me and Vann are addicted to banter. It is probably really boring for everyone else to have to read, and I apologise. But it is a good laugh. Try it, wind Zico up. ;)

No you're fine mate. You didn't delete the thread, ban us both or flame us for flaming (whatever it means) so you're not that bad.

I think I might lose my Gary Lineker status if I'm not careful. ;)
