i see abramovich spending some cash next month

maybe u guys will have better luck in the Super Mega FA Cup Bowl.

It all comes down to effort. (Pic below is Ranieri's basic lineup a 4-4-2, daimond formation, basically, Current Chelsea squad before its strongest, after january obviously, where do you think we can improve?

IMO, the one Hard Working defender we have is John Terry, no doubt about it, his future is great, with Chelsea and England. Bridge and Johnson are very attacking full backs and they are literally just not bothered to come back and defend when pocession is lost. Desailly tries his hardest, age for him is the problem. Its not just the defenders though, the two argentines, Crespo and Veron can be lazy at times too. IMO scrap johnson, get a more defensive right fullback. Give desailly a few games, other than that dont use him, put in gallas and rotate him with a new Centerback which should be purchased in January. The back four all have talent, they just cant be fucked to use it. Sorry for the swearing, but i am very angry that most of the blame is being shifted on Ranieri, when i know he is trying to get the best out of his players, but i say, if they are not bothering, scrap em. Im not saying we dont have hard working players, because we do. Mutu, Duff, Lampard, just to name a few commited players.

Aims for Jan: a Striker/Offensive Midfielder, a Full-Back and a Centreback

New lineup in janueary.

Ok it was a bad result but surely spending shit heaps of cash on players you dont need is the answer I mean IMO youve got the best squad in the prem league anyway enough to field 2 decent teams.

Who cares about their position, its the name taht matters.. its Chelsea. Henry is playin CF not AM.

It would be nice to have some Chelsea fans in here. As far as i can see, it's gloaters and piss-takers.
Anyway, so we've had a bad run, but i'm not going to get all down about it. Who knows what's going to happen to the top 3 in the next 4 months or so. That's a long time in football.

I would like to hear a Chelsea fan's opinion on this.

What Chelsea do you prefer?
-Pre Abramovich.
-Abramovic Era.

erm, let me guess . . . . . .

hmmmmm - The Abramovic Era has brought us in enough money to buy some top players and not have to worry about money in general.

Money doesnt destroy a team - its a crap manager with money because he simply keeps buying every time something goes wrong - and thats not how it should be done

Ranieri has used the money really well and bought in some quality players. We have had a bad spell of late, so we shall see what happens in Jan. If he goes mad and buys a ton of players to disrupt our team then its a bad move IMO. But if he simply adds a little more squad depth with 2 or 3 players - then all is good!! :D

I agree Jacko - Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle have all had their fair share of the money over the last few years - its our turn now ;)

Merry Xmas TB

Merry Xmas Boro!

Well, yet again a lot of stupid posts from our 'colleagues'. Nice to see nothing changes. ;)

I think Nickybaker has it right though, we don't need to sign any more players. Last years squad was the third best team in the country, regardless of final league position. This year, despite having no centre backs available, the goons had to rely on a freak goal to beat us and we made Manchester United look like Scunthorpe United, even though we played badly.

Our problem is mental. Ranieri kept talking about how we needed to have a good Xmas, but he didn't drum that into the players. Let's face it, if we had defended half way decent, we would have won that Charlton game 2-0 or 2-1.

Sunday was ok. We weren't bad in the first half, despite what a lot of the papers said. A little luck and we would have gone in 3-0 up at half time. In the second half, he gave us a little more width and it was too much for Portsmouth.

I just think we are verging on the complacent at times, and Ranieri is not doing enough to keep them focussed.

"Capacity reduced by 5,000 for Stuttgart

Tuesday, Dec 30, 2003

The Stamford Bridge capacity is being reduced by almost 5,000 for the home leg with Stuttgart in the UEFA Champions League first knockout round. Half of the Matthew Harding Stand will be affected.

The Box Office is currently writing to season ticket holders who have already purchased their seat in the affected area for the game in order to get them to send it back so they can be relocated.

The problem has arisen because of the amount of outside broadcasting equipment required by UEFA for this stage of the competition. The trucks bringing it will be parked at the back of the Matthew Harding Stand and access cannot be permitted by the safety authorities.

Thus, Blocks 13, 14, 15 and 16 in the Lower Tier, and 14, 15, 16 and 17 in the Upper Tier will be closed and season ticket holders will be offered seats elsewhere in the stadium. Matthew Harding Lower will go to the West Stand Lower, and Upper will go to the Shed Upper.

Inside the stadium this will mean no spectators from behind the goal to the East Stand at the Matthew Harding End. The precise total of seats affected is 4,933.

The problem did not arise four years ago when we reached the latter stages of the Champions League because the Health Club and World of Sport development behind the Matthew Harding Stand had not been completed and there was a lot of temporary parking space available.

Ticket sales for the game recommence tomorrow, New Year’s Eve, from 9am. Season ticket holders can purchase their own seat if in a non-affected area until Saturday January 18th. Members can buy in the East Upper or West Stand Upper for now, one ticket per member.

Application must be by internet, post or through the Chelsea Call Centre on 0870 3000 2322. No personal callers are being processed at this time. The Call Centre is closed on New Year’s Day."

well well well... looks like you ll hafta depend on the home leg then eh? ;) good luck with stutt, quite the club they are ... kurayni is quite the striker :D

Chelsea will kill Stuttgart at home. Its the away leg that will be tricky. I got Chelsea down for the semi`s - thats where they will fall.

Stuttgart have a great defence, shame the cb Bordon will probably be out all season long.
Chelsea should watch out for Hleb, he's unbelievable on the ball.

i liked stutt when i watched us play them in the group stage, i dont think they will be an easy task, but chelsea will be up for it eh prof?

This is not fair. Watford's goal did not go in!
This is really really unfair.
I hate these gay referees.
What kind of corny Referees do they hire?!?!??!!?
