That's what you need, another striker

Yes it is in my opinion. Jimmy's movement is so bad these days that it's painful to watch. He may have 12 goals, but virtually all have been tap ins laid on by someone elses approach work. He'll like Spain.....

Would Defoe be your choice. You should close your academy and make West Ham your feeder club!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

A lot of my mates support West Ham and it doesn't half make me laugh when there players piss off for bigger and better things.

I'd like to have Forssell back ideally, but Defoe is a young, Englishman who I've rated for a long time.

They are our feeder club, even JT was born in that part of the world!

JT is a Dagger just like his bro!!!!

Dig a dagger dig a dagger oi oi oi!!!!

As you was saying about Defoe I would love to have him at Highbury cause he is a good english player as well. I'm fed up with the whole french legion bollocks!!!!

Defoe is the type of player that both arsenal and chelsea need and would be a good buy for either club.

I think he'd love to come to United though as neither club can match us on any level whether it prestige trophies whatever ;) :) .

Great to see Bolton beat Chelsea, the league throws these things up every now and again but Bolton have beat us at home twice over the past few seasons and f*cked arsenals whole season by coming back from 2-0 down last year...

Now they've beaten Chelsea...

Big Sam is the man!!!

Im sure Chelsea will bounce back though...

I dunno - Defoe does seem to like his cash. Certainly something we have in abundance.

Then there's the weather, and those ridiculous accents you talk in - probably why poor Rio got confused a few months back ;) . Also, red isn't his colour.

And finally, he get's to the training ground on a Monday morning and has a laugh with a jovial italian, or get's bawled at by a red faced, whiskey breathing jock!

I know where I'd rather be.

(Plus he wouldn't have to look at Phil Neville naked!)

haha your a funny guy!!

Well I know where i'd rather be lol!!

Ey T my mate went to watch Us play your lot the other week and commented how sh*te the view was for the away fans and that it cost him £50, £50 f*ckin quid, there would be uproar at OT if we charged that, infact we could probley afford a team of 60 internationals at that price lol!! Funny how all this money has gone into the club yet the supporters arent getting value for money IMO, seems like your paying more to keep the hotel running than is spent on the team.

Like I said I know where i'd rather be. ;)

The prices were put it in place before Roman arrived, so yes in a way you're right, it is to keep the hotel going. He reckons the prices will come down next season, but I won't be holding my breath. ;) I have a season ticket, so mine work out about £30 a game on average but I'm sure your friend noticed that most things were more expensive here than up in Mancunia.

Besides, the amount of shirts you shift to plastics like Kenshin and Metallica for £50 a pop, I'm shocked and appalled you don't have 60 internationals already.

Well yeah its always dearer down there but with having so much money pumped into the club, literally a limitless supply, its pretty bad that the fans havent been reinbursed, but, if ya season ticket works out at about £30 a game your only paying a 1/3 more than me but I think your ticket includes league cup (??).

Shirts are hardly the same mate, not sure if you've noticed but we dont actually make them, a little company called Nike do and for this funnily enough they take a % of the ££, funny that isnt it. Anyway ive said before if people wanna buy shirts its their choice, they dont have to, but if that keeps the prices down for supporters then im all for it, which (again funnily enough) is exaclty what chelsea are trying to do hence poaching Cuddly Pete.

Speaking of Cuddly Pete, not sure if you know, Chelsea are also attempting to poach our "super euro scout" whose name is hardly known, even in football circles, it seems this knowledge has come from Kenyon and is gonna land him in hot water.

Come now Vannnizle! 60,000 at £50 over a season or 20,000,000 shirts at £10 (your cut, I believe) every 2 years. What's the real money maker?

I'm not impressed with Kenyon at all. He doesn't seem to have a clue about the most basic business rules so thank fcuk he doesn't get here till Feb. I don't fancy paying 25 million for Defoe!

Sure you don't want him back?

Hmmm yeah but there is also the small matter of Shareholders, face it mate there's a huge difference, Roman could afford to bring the ticket prices down cos he's only accountable to himself, I know he's not daft though It wont be hard to get his money back cos he could sell the land for silly money.

Nah you can keep him, he's perfect for you's lot, I can feel the power shifting lol!

A couple of seasons ago the media was anticipating the first £100mill player, there is only one club who could/would pay that now...

From the guardian

Chelsea have revealed that they would be prepared to spend £60m on Ruud van Nistelrooy if the Dutchman became available - and up to £100m on a single player if the need arose.
However, the Blues have still made it abundantly clear that despite Roman Abramovich's incredible financial resources, they will not be ripped off when the transfer window opens next month.

Chelsea's acting chief executive, Paul Smith, revealed that a central defender and a midfielder are the club's main priorities when the transfer window opens in January, though they would also be interested in a world-class striker at the right price.

"If Van Nistelrooy was priced at £60m and we considered it a good investment, then we would probably pay," said Smith, who has been placed in charge of recruitment by Roman Abramovich.

"If Pele was on the market today for £100m then we'd maybe go for him, but we won't pay £30m for Joe Nobody," he added. "It's not about the fee but about getting good value. We want the right quality and the right value."

Quoted in the Evening Standard, Smith added: "We do care about the money and it's a misconception that we don't. There's not a finite budget but we want to get good value. Roman is a businessman and is determined not to get ripped off. We won't pay the tourist price."

One player Chelsea won't be signing, however, is Valencia defender Roberto Ayala. "We like Ayala and had a look at him but unfortunately he's cup-tied after playing in the Uefa Cup," said Smith.

"We want players who are available for our Champions League campaign. We're looking to strengthen the midfield as Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele are looking a bit tired.

"If Petit and Veron were fit there wouldn't be a problem and we need to know when they'll be back."

Roman Abramovich appears to have reluctantly concluded that Arsenal striker Henry is not for sale, even for the £50m he alleged to have bid last week.

Van Nistelrooy, who is also a target for Real Madrid and yesterday admitted that "in football everything is possible", is currently in negotiations about a new Manchester United contract.

I'd be very suprised if Ruud went to a club like Chelsea, but as the cliche goes, anythings possible....

I hope you don't think that just because Roman A. is wanting to splash his cash, that it's the view of every Chelsea supporter. I personally don't think we need more players, particularly not high profile ones. Furthermore, I think we'd only need a new striker if we eventually sold Forssell and Jimmy. A central defender however, we do need. And bring back Smertin, it's only Claude back there at the moment with Petit out. I don't want to go down the Real Madrid "no defenders" road.

I get bored of all the speculation and rumours but my honest opinion of this is that if Henry was available for £100 million, then yes, Roman would put his hand in his pocket.

I hope he never does, for the sake of football. Lot's of people say we're ruining football etc, but our record signing is £17 million, not £40 million - the same as we payed for Jimmy years before Roman came along.

If you add up the last few years, we've spent less than the mancs (and the scousers lol!) and absolutely nowhere near how much Real have spent (And don't forget the scam they used to come up with all that cash).

We have done nothing wrong so far, the papers like to build it all up so they can sell us more rumour and speculation and it is all very dull, but I think us signing a player for that much would be bad for football.

Yeah you've spent less, and most importantly won less ;)

I dont think theres anythng wrong with spending what you've got, Madrid spend what they havent got and they are "the biggest club in the world" and everyones favourite club.

£100 million though. It's an obscene amount of money. Think what else you could do with that.

Thats not even money to me, money is what I spend, what I can hold, what I can comprehend.

£100mill to a Manc lad like me is beyond comprehension.

Roman has recently spent more on a boat than he's spent on the team so it must be feck all to him...

Power to him. if I was a young billionare (with huge steel balls) i'd wanna buy a football team and world class players aswell.

Of course not, that's what happens when you put Neil Sullivan in goal (how far out was Angel?) and don't care about a cup. Now i know people always say, "you say that because you're out of the cup," which is rubbish. The Carling Cup is for the Boltons and First Div teams to get a place in Europe. Chelsea will finish in the top 4 so we will be playing in the CL. There are bigger fish to fry, so to speak. If you have top 4 aspirations, the 2 main goals are Prem title and CL. Simple.

What sorta team did you fellas play last night? I couldnt believe it when the radio said you guys were out, i was hoping for a Boro vs Chelski final (yes im a glutton for punishment :( )

A sort of mix. It was a good enough team to put Villa out but Ranners fcuked with the formation again. We were horrible first half, lacked a bit of luck second.

think you's have had enough luck already T ;)

Ive not read the match reports yet, saw Angels first goal though, what is it with this guy, against city earlier this season he was easily the worst striker Ive seen for awhile (and that was in the box) yet he belts in a screamer with his left peg last nite....

IMO I dont think Ranners will be to arsed about the result it would've spread the squad abit thin cos you's have some injuries at the mo.

Who've you got at the weekend??

We've got a local derby against fulham. I have to ask though. Why was Neil sullivan in goal? 3rd choice keeper. It just proves that Claudio doesn't really see the CCup as important....and who's the muppet who thought it was a league game.
