A word of warning to Turkish teams.enjoy your European football while you can, because if you're not careful you may not play it again for a few years.

The Turks really are starting to piss me off! Good words there Nutty because It's happening every single time now & it's time UEFA took strong action. Banning all Turksh Internationals & the Turkish entering European Ties for a few years should do the trick

Well exactly, no reason why they won't do it again. English clubs were banned from European Club competitions once.

...and. Job Done 2-0 ;)

Well, I hope you know what your letting yourself in for.....

I thought we did good last night, another hostile crowd but we handled it well. Not sure we needed to play 5-3-2 but I guess CR wanted to prove a point.

Who d'you want next prof?

Well, we'll avoid Real Madrid, AC Milan, and possibly Juventus. Can't get an English team. I don't want Galatasaray, if they go through, because i'm fed up with Turkish supporters. Looking at the some of the sides we could get though, Porto, Stuttgart etc. Perhaps i wouldn't mind Celta Vigo, as they don't seem to be very impressive really. I don't know, we'll see Friday. ;)

Chelsea star calls for action over Besiktas coin-throwers

Frank Lampard wants European football's governing body UEFA to take action against Besiktas after Chelsea came under a barrage of missiles the Champions League clash in Germany.

The game had been switched to Gelsenkirchen in the wake of the bombings in Istanbul, but there was still a hostile atmosphere inside the AufSchalke Arena.

The start of the second half was delayed after part of the pitch was covered with rolls of toilet paper and the Chelsea bench were forced to raise umbrellas to shield themselves from objects thrown from the crowd.

"It was lucky that nobody was hurt," said Lampard. "We had bundles of coins coming at us, even in the warm-up.

"I am sure UEFA have got legislation to deal with this and it is about time they did something about it."

John Terry compared the experience to playing for England in Turkey in their final Euro 2004 qualifier in October.

"It was pretty similar to Turkey but this was one of the most hostile crowds I have ever played in front of," said the Chelsea defender.

"It is not good for football and they should definitely do something about it. It seems to be part of their football and it is not nice but thankfully nobody got hurt.

Striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink revealed how the atmosphere had motivated Chelsea.

"It gave us a boost to do even better and be even more calm," said the Dutchman who scored the first goal in Chelsea's 2-0 win.

"We knew they would try to provoke us and we did really well. It is not nice being spat at but what can you do - you cannot fight 50,000 people."

Well, Prof Celta certainly didn't look very impressive to me, but maybe it's better to avoid them because they are imho a vicious, provocative team...Chelsea certainly can eliminatie them , but this could come at cost of some yellow or red cards (in their first match against Brugge, Bruge had two red cards...).

Yeah... watch out for The Snake... Youri...

And Jay Jay ... Tha b*stard twisted Arsenal inside out last season..

Wonder if Jardel is ever going to reproduce his Sporting/Gala scoring records in the Premiership?

I see a 80min Frankie Lampard goal... 1-0 Blues!

i also see a victory, perhaps 2-0 on the lowly wanderers ... they arent sitting pretty in the bottom half of the table, and jardel was a big hype in sporting, but just like ronaldo (cristiano) he wont recover that spark he had ... we ll see i guess

Agent: Chelsea chasing £25m Nedved

Chelsea are in hot pursuit of Juventus' Czech midfielder Pavel Nedved according to the player's agent.

Zdenek Nehoda told The Sun that the wealthy west Londoners are tracking Nedved after advice from England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The newspaper reports that the club are prepared to pay £25million for the player.

'Juventus' director general Luciano Moggi told me Chelsea want Pavel and although the answer has been no, they simply won't go away,' he said.

'The desire to have him is very strong and apparently Eriksson keeps on advising [Chelsea's Russian billionaire owner] Roman Abramovich that Pavel is vital.'

Eriksson has been consistently linked with the manager's job at Stamford Bridge ever since he was photographed visiting Abramovich's London residence with top soccer agent Pini Zahavi.

The rumours have been quietened by the success of current coach Claudio Ranieri, who has led Chelsea to the top of the Barclaycard Premiership and into the last 16 of the Champions League.

Nedved played under Eriksson at Lazio and was identified by the Swede as one of six key players who could most hurt England's chances of success at Euro 2004.

'It is clear why Eriksson would say this because he knows Pavel very well. And how is Nedved playing at Juventus? Not well - brilliantly.

'Pavel has a contract until 2006 and intends to respect it but everything can change so quickly in football.

'It is true that before Chelsea came in for Pavel, Juventus did make a tentative offer to bring forward contract extension talks but Pavel said no and continues to feel the same way.'

PLEASE tell me there is no way of this happening... PLEASE

milan = right about chelsea = ruining football

footieballa = hate chelsea (to a certain extent)

nedved = staying put at delle alpi or else he would just be another member of the chelsea bandwagon

Look at you lot getting all worked up about a rumour. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.....

I'm also interested to see Milanista's comments that we are ruining football - care to back that up? Or are you just talking out of your rectum again?

Yeah, that's a stupid comment. If anything Chelsea are revitalising the Premiership and adding a new bit of spice to the CL. Quite frankly i don't think we need Nedved, I'd rather, if necessary, look for younger talents.

Milan in CL Final = Boring.

I think he's all pissed off 'cos his lot aren't the richest team in Europe anymore. Let me guess, AC weren't ruining football when they were buying players left, right and centre were they?

Just been watching their game with the mancs. They look quite poor in the air, we have a lot of work to do before February but I think we should have enough to knock them out.

Long way away, isn't it!

Rather envious remarks from Milanista...Milan was the Chelsea before Chelsea was Chelsea (if you get what i mean)...

Oh and i agree with the prof: it would be better to make stars than to buy stars...they did this with Mutu, Geremi and Duff...

I can't remember that Milan really made stars i.e. buy young players who become stars (of course there is Maldini who is a youth player from Milan, but it has to be coïncidence since his is an isolated case...maybe Kaka...but he wasn't a complete nobody...)
