Indeed there is, i don't doubt it. Just keep Henry wrapped in cotton wool, eh. You wouldn't want to be without him now. ;)

Great result for Chelsea and (more important) for football in general...it's a three horse race now...and i sincerely hope that Chelsea can win it...

Just a word from the neutral footyfan. That game was boring as fuck!!
I didn't think it was a penalty, Cole didn't want a thing, but to fall down anyway. Chelsea were way better on midfield and could easily control the match.

I think they can win the PL this year.

Jooste it was so a penalty, Keano as usual tackling from behind wrapped his legs around Cole. Defo a penalty. Plus we flew at them, especially when Duff came on. Could have been more goals on either side though.

I have to say it was a bit of a disapointing game to me. About the penalty, ofcourse he made contact, but my point is Joe Cole was about to dive anyway. In that case a penalty shouldn't be given.

When I saw it as it happened my first instinct was "dive", but looking at the replay I think it has to be given. I agree Cole was looking to go down the whole time, but then Keane still mistimes the tackle, still doesn't make contact on the ball and still makes contact with Cole, so no argument really.

Ferguson afterwards was a joke, after watching the replays he said Keane touched the ball and Cole was no longer in control of it, neither of which is true. I think he came there expecting to put up a better fight, and was rattled by just how easy Chelsea made it look...

remember that the referees do not have video replays when they make their calls, soo if everyone, including me, thought it was a dive, then he probably wouldve called a dive too... soo technically the ref first saw a bad tackle, not a dive... so error on keano and fergie :(

ps STILL a good effort by the blues

What Ho everyone! Enjoy Sunday? I can't remember very much about it, but it was fun. ;) I can understand why the neutral didn't enjoy the game, it was a little too tense - much to much importance heaped on the game.

We started horrendously and didn't really get into gear till after the penalty, fluffed a few chances, then surrendered the last 25 minutes stupidly but I don't think the mancs had a decent effort at goals in all that time, so we got away with it.

Definitely a pen, though. Even if Joseph did 'over react' Keane took him late and from the wrong side. Unsurprisingly considering the fuss the mancs made over it, the ref gave us nothing from then on!

Reading tonight.....

Here is something to ponder. Before the teams ran out on Sunday, I was digesting the team news of Duff being left out, Geremi being left in etc. I turned to the bloke sitting next to me and said:

"You know, I can't work out whether Ranieri is a genius or a cnut." Three years he's been there and I still don't know....

I s'pose. There has been a lot of chat about how brilliant his plan was against Man Utd. Supposedly keeping it tight with Joseph free to roam, getting the goal and still having pacy wingers to bring on when Man U tire.

How do we know that was the plan though? What if we hadn't scored? We won, but I don't think we played very well. Who's to say starting with Duff, we could have won by a few?

He is so important for the signings he's made and for keeping everyone happy so I'm more than happy to see him stay in the job, but I still can't work out if he's a genius or a cnut. ;)

17 minutes : Goal by Jermaine Pennant (Leeds) drilled left-footed (top-right of goal) from centre of penalty area (18 yards).Leeds 1-0 Chelsea.

I'm rather upbeat about that draw! All Saturday I was getting Final Destination type omens that we were going to get beat 1-0, and up pops Duffer to salvage a draw. Good stuff, boy!

A few things went wrong, firstly the ref breaking up our attacking move that led to their goal - the ball shouldn't even have been down our end! Then the keystone cop defending, of a standard I've not seen since about 1988!

Still, I'm happy with the point. ;)

I'm getting bored of listening to the Turks moral bleating about how we've given into terrorism. UEFA moved the game so they are having a little hissy fit about how unfair life is. I hope Lazio qualify along with us.

Petrescu Bucharest bound
Monday, 08 December 2003

Former Chelsea and Southampton favourite Dan Petrescu is set to be unveiled as the new manager of Romanian club Rapid Bucharest.
Rapid have recently dispensed with the services of Mircea Rednic and are now set to conclude a deal for Petrescu.

Bucharest's general secretary Cristian Costache is confident that the former Romanian international will sign a contract within the next few days.

He said: "Rapid have decided to replace coach Mircea Rednic with Petrescu.

"All details of the deal are set and the contract will be signed as soon as possible, probably on Monday."

Petrescu proved a popular figure in his time in England and the cultured defender will hope for similar success in his first managerial position.

Don't know why they're complaining, it's a home from home for Turks, (Germany that is) especially considering there will be something like 50,000 turks and only 398 Chelsea fans.

Uh oh, Claudio what are you doing? He's playing 3 CBs (Terry, Gallas and Desailly) Then Johnson and Babayaro on the flanks. 3 in midfield, (Makelele, Lampard and Geremi). Then Gronkjaer in front of them and Jimmy infront of him. :l

A word of warning to Turkish teams.enjoy your European football while you can, because if you're not careful you may not play it again for a few years.

The Turks really are starting to piss me off! Good words there Nutty because It's happening every single time now & it's time UEFA took strong action. Banning all Turksh Internationals & the Turkish entering European Ties for a few years should do the trick
