This sums it up:

"Chelsea demonstrated their lack of cohesion, poor work ethic, foreign indifference and the lack of spirit that comes with putting together an expensive squad of individuals, as they battered Newcastle 5-0 at the Bridge last night.

The one-touch passing, watertight defending, slick midfield play, and dynamism in front of goal were all exactly what you would expect from a bunch of mercenary wage-chasers with one eye on the winter clear-out at Hermes and Armani and the other on a new Maserati. "

haha, well T, i dont know about wiping out title thoughts just yet, front page of http://www.soccernet.com says that franky lampard thinks that this just the year where "we can say we honestly believe we can win something" ... i wouldnt blame him for saying that, carlo cudicini in good form, youve got a lineup that real could finally compare with, and the bench is willing to preform in the form of eidur and whoever isnt starting at foward... sometimes it's teams that show heart and team effort that comes through, chelski have played more like a team within the last couple of weeks than anyone could imagine when the players started to flood into the Bridge

I think we've got a good spirit in the camp now, and some confidence to boot. The dust is beginning to settle, so to speak. If we can keep the results coming, i'd like to think most of the squad will be happy, despite the rotations, particularly if we progress, as i hope we will, to the next stage of the CL.

You only have to see how every player gets mobbed by his team mates when he scores, to show there is a good atmosphere there - I guess it will all depend on how they are if things aren't going very well for a spell.

haha though im sure he ll be asked to cut the hair as soon as sven sees it... what a mess!

hahahaha! yes indeed, i think at the first day in camp, becks should show him how to braid his hair, since he did have braids for a while

I think we are definitely looking at signing a few promising youngsters, but I do worry about 'poaching' other teams players. Say we were to sign this guy Holmes on the cheap and he turns into the next Ryan Giggs (A big ask!) - not really fair on Derby, is it? In fact, what would be the point of having a youth set up if your best players are taken before they even start playing?

Holmes is quality he would do well at a team whos got stricker with good ariels abliity because his crosses are second to none

he will be better than Giggsy ;)

For someone who doesn't want him to go, you're doing a good job of advertising him! ;)

as long as Roman aint watching im OK

Tell him to give us 50 mill for him he wont miss it and it will get us outta debt :)

players who play on better teams tend to progress better right? might as well play him at chelski, although, roman will NEVER pay 50 mill for him ;)

are you kidding me? everyone loves hernan, at the bridge, if i am not mistaken, they love every single one of their new signings: mutu, hernan, damien, bridge, makelele, veron, joe cole... etc if 1) they are doing well 2) if he is producing or contributing to their success, then of course they ll love him! :D same cant be said about hernan at inter tho :( but for the reasons i mentioned above

Yeah, hats off to Chelsea, you are proving yourself so far this season, in the league and in Europe.

I can`t wait until we meet you.

As for Shearer, I hope he never gets better. Can`t stand the boring git.

i on the other hand, enjoy watching alan play, his leadership skills are great, and he (and keano) show the world that quitting international duties will help your club team! :D:D

By the by - In my Newcastle Programme on Sunday, what did I see?

A full page add for Pro Evolution 3!

Chelsea Football Club, the peoples club...... ;)

The United programes have had a Pro Evo 3 ad, but most of the time its feckin` FIFA 2004 - money, money, money . . .

haha well, i think its a bit quick to guess that, we still have utd - pana in the way of that i think... and i think utd - charlton ...?

I think we will beat you. No idea what the score will be, but I think we have enough to turn you over if you're going to put players like Phil Neville and Quinton Fortune against us.

More importantly, you don't have an indian sign over us like the goons do!
