Thats just an annual report. You wont know where our money is going or which players we buy which is important cuz Chelsea have been robbing our transfer targets for the last 2 years.
And what makes you think we wont finish in the top 4? People are making such a HUGE mistake by underestimating us. You have to remember that at our best period last season, we were playing the best football in the country when we went on a long unbeaten run over Christmas AND we showed Arsenal in the FA Cup and the 2 league games just how well we can beat them whether we had to beat them physicially or beat them with pure football. That alone is enough for me to believe that we could win the Premiership back especially since we now have some important signings.

mate calm down i didnt say u wouldnt finish in the top four! or where your moneys is coming from to buy players! Just that as a buisness your not in the best finacial position at the moment and if and i mean IF Cl qualification isnt regular than in the long term you are in trouble!

What do you mean "calm down"? I'm not going mad or anything.
And I know that we're CURRENTLY not in the best financial position but you have to understand that the Glazers are business men. They probably know f*ck all about football but know a lot how to run a business successfully. They didnt buy Man Utd if they thought they couldnt benefit from it. Why would someone spend £800million if they werent sure what they were doing? The way the Glazers what things to work is that they will handle the business side of things while the existing staff such as the manager will run the football side of things. So things are just gonna be the same except that since the business side will be doing well, it will benefit the footballing side with the extra funding for players, training facilities, etc.

And this is basically what Chelsea are trying to do and achieve by 2010. But we're about 5-7 years ahead of them in this cuz we already have the history on the pitch and we're already a well known brand worldwide. So really I'd rather be in Man Utd's position rather than Chelsea's.

I think any club would like to be in Chelsea's financial position right now, we are being carried a long. And Im sure Kenyon can make it happen for us.

No Rune Chelse are trying to be like you were! I completly agree with you on why Glazer has bought United and no i dont think he bought it to mess it up! BUT if you dont contiune to qualify for the Cl every year your club will be in financial ruin! although it will never come to that, im sure if it did somebody would buy him out!

Kenyon's an ass. You're better off with someone else.
He just took all the credit for our success and Chelsea believed him.
Its funny how we lost out to player like Ronaldinho because of Kenyon and now Chelsea are losing out on players...

Notice a pattern?

What do you mean, "like we were"?
Just cuz we had two bad season, you're saying we're no longer a club with a huge fan base all over the world? You're just looking at what happened on the pitch. Off the pitch things are still the same.

And all you're doing is stating the obvious. Of course if you dont qualify for the CL, you're gonna lose money. The same can be said to Liverpool, Chelsea AND Arsenal. Why not go and make that post in the Arsenal thread? And why do you have to tell Man Utd this? Dont you think we can qualify?

He failed to bring in Ronaldinho but he "has secured Nike as sponsor, bringing in £303m over 13 years, and been instrumental in numerous other deals with the likes of Vodafone, netting the club more than £100m a year, and a ground-breaking agreement with New York Yankees."

Thats still something.

oh dear Rune you are a club 200m+ in debt im sure Chelsea do not want to be in that postion by 2010 im talking about you finances not you on the field activitys! you now have a debt and intrest rates to pay. By not qualifying for the Cl as a club you winn the not be able to pay the debts and would face finacial ruin! I wouldnt go ans post this in the Arsenal thread as they are not 200m+ in debt!

I know that. What I mean is why do you doubt we'll fail to qualify for the CL?
We dont need really high expectations from the team to pay off out debts. Qualifying for the CL, getting past the group stages, finishing atleast 4th in the league, etc are all we need to do on a regular basis to finance the team. So I have no doubt that things can go wrong.

If we had no choice but to win the Premiership or the CL, then we'd have problems but we arent expected to do that. Well the fans expect it but not the Glazers.

Chelsea's only real problem is that everybody knows they have truckloads of money so they ask ridiculous prices for people like Drogba. Players themselves sometimes don't want to go simply because they want regular action (hey, don't we all:D). Liverpool are also suffering to an extent, ironically, by winning the CL, everybody knows we've got that money burning a hole in our pocket.......

You're just looking at a possibility thats not likely to happen. Why dont we look at the possiblity of Chelsea finishing 3rd or something?
I mean, they lost to Newcastle in the FA Cup and lost to Liverpool in the CL which proved to me that they're not as invincible as they seem.
So the chances of that happening are higher than most would think.

Is it just me that thinks Essien is an arrogant *ss?

Lyon doesn't want to sell, let's be clear about that, but how does he kept saying something around the line of "The Manager's waiting for the right price", or "The chairman knows he can't keep a player against his will". And another one like "I have the chairman's word that he will do everything to find an agreement with Chelsea as soon as possible".

Is he doing himself any good? He signed a contract to play at Lyon, and he has tarnished himself there. Wonder what happens if he ends up stayin in Lyon .. lol.

Mourinho tactics frustrate Drogba
Drogba claims he helped Lampard shine
Drogba claims he made Lampard shine at Stamford Bridge
Didier Drogba has questioned Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho's tactics after scoring only 10 goals in his first season for the Premiership champions.

And the Ivory Coast striker, who joined the Blues from Marseille for £24m, also claims he did not get the credit he deserved for the role he played.

He told The People: "We'll see whether any other great striker will defend like a maniac as I did last season.

"I sacrificed myself for the whole team while forgetting my scoring figures."

Drogba could find his place in the Blues starting line-up under threat with the return of Hernan Crespo from a season-long loan at AC Milan.

But the forward added: "I'll try thinking more about me next season so that I don't finish 15 goals behind Thierry Henry again."

I sacrificed myself in the interests of Chelsea and made Lampard and Cole shine
Didier Drogba

However, it was Mourinho's approach to many games that surprised Drogba.

He continued: "I did think that I would spend less time running about after the ball.

"I do have reservations about our game, especially in the second half of the season.

"The only way we played was with long balls towards me, but I prefer playing football with people putting the ball at my feet."

Drogba also believes his selfless efforts helped midfielders Frank Lampard and Joe Cole have such good seasons.

"I sacrificed myself in the interests of Chelsea and made Lampard and Cole shine," he claimed.

Despite his dig at Mourinho's tactics, Drogba says he still enjoys a good relationship with him.

"We can talk frankly without any problems and he has total confidence in me," he continued.

"He showed that last season - I was always in the starting line-up and he has always supported me.

"The criticism I've had brought us closer together and he knows what I have brought to the team."

I think hes just making an excuse, sure its tough, but he did not make Lampard shine, Lampard was the star of the team last season too and we used to use a 4-4-2, along with Terry that is.

Ferguson weighs into fixture row
Sir Alex Ferguson
Ferguson believes Man Utd can mount a title challenge this season
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho's criticism of Arsenal.

Mourinho claims Chelsea have had a rough deal from the game's governing bodies compared to the Highbury outfit, notably over fixture list allocation.

Ferguson said: "Mourinho's dead right, by the way. You look at the fixtures Arsenal have after European games - it has been going on for years.

Chelsea and Man City agree fee for SWP. Subject to personal terms and a medical.

Apparently is a £21million deal. I cant believe Man City gave up so easily. They need money to pay their debt so they should have asked for more.

I wonder how SWP would fit into the team.

I would actually love to see the 4-4-2 come back.

Robben has the ability to play up front which would pretty much make 4 strikers, in Robben, Drogba, Crespo and Gudjohnsen, which is the number of strikers that is usually needed at a club, even though we still have carlton cole.

This would mean

---Rob---Dro/Cre/Gud---
-Duf---Lam---Mak---SWP
-Br/DH-Ter--Car---Ferr-
--------Cech----------

or something similar.

This formation would also benetit the players that do not get to play as often, and also the strikers.

I cant belive it last i heard he was saying he was happy ect.. and what about city's statement what an absolute joke! GUTTED!:(

Couldnt you shorten the names any further? ;)

I personally think SWP would be better behind the striker.
I get a feeling that Drogba is going...
