Alucard has a fair point. If you think about it, how much of an improvement was this season over last year? You won the Carling cup and moved from being second to Champs. And seeing how guys like Cech and Robben were Ranieri's buys, Mourinho hasnt been as great as people make him out to be.
Sure you were superb performance wise but how much of that do you give Mourinho credit for? Chelsea have a great team which would probably do well without a manager. IMO, Mourinho only really helps on the motivation side of things where he's probably the best.

Well if you look at their record this season theyve lost once in the league so far, last season they lost 7. Theyve already gone beyond the 79 points they got last season. Last season they ended up 11 points behind Arsenal (79 to 90) whereas now theyre 11 ahead of Arsenal (88 to 77). So far theyve scored 67 (same as their final tally last season), but crucially theyve only let in 13 in the league, last season they let in 30. So statistically theyve been much better.

Your right about Drogba tho, I thought he would be better but hes only had an average season really. He's been very similar to Rooney in my opinion, lots of media attention but the jury is still out on their actual performance this season. Theyve only scored 11 (Rooney) and 10 (Drogba). I know theyve both had injuries (both have played 26 matches, Rooneys started 22, Drogba 18 ) but theyre a fair bit behind Henry (25 goals) and Johnston (20 goals). Both Rooney and Drogba cost a lot of money and both really need to start delivering week in week out and against quality opposition.

I don't quite understand the Drogba/Henry thing. I see DD as more of a physical player, who uses his strength and aerial power, whereas Henry is more of a creative forward, ie with more tricks up his sleeve. Henry's style is also more determined by Arsenal's style of play, ie along the ground. And yes, i do think of Henry as a better forward than DD ;)

I've been read a news at planetfootball.com, and there has a quote of Drogba and he has try to copy Henry in some way. But I cant remember the exact date of the news but i believe it's in March/April.

* Found that news.

Well last season a whole new team was bought by chelsea and the players had to get to know eachother first thats why whatever team in any league doesnt go out and buy a whole new team every season coz if a team was to do that it would be very hard to find consistency for the coming season. But ranieri actually got the players to gel quickly if you remember and got them playing to semi finals only for makelele to make monaco angry after riduclous reaction to get man sent off and ranieri making too many changes otherwise you would of been in final last year.

Before anyone says im a ranieri fan im not, i just think he was the one who made that chelsea team not mourinho and it is unjust for Mr Mourinho to claim all the credit.

As for rooney and drogba you cant compare since rooney is only 19 and drogba is in his prime 26 years old,it is like comparing fabregas to Vieira or keane. But Anyway if you want to compare then rooney is far better player who does alot more on the pitch with his contribution and link up play and has produced special moments this season scoring a total of 17 goals being the clubs top scorer a while andy johnson has scored 12 of his goals from the penalty spot only 8 from open play. Drogba has scored total of 16 goals which isnt too bad but he hasnt really played well in majority of matches he has played in. Henry is only player striker wise who has played better than rooney this season.

Ronney has probalby been at a professional club longer than Drogba hes only been playing professionaly for like three or four years i think?

Chelsea want Crespo back
Friday 6 May, 2005
Jose Mourinho has pulled the rug out from under Milan by claiming they’ll have to pay millions to keep Hernan Crespo.

“Crespo has a big chance to come back,” the Chelsea boss told The Evening Standard. “If they want to keep him they will have to pay a lot of money. He is scoring goals, playing well and is in the European Cup Final. We would like to have him back or change him with Andriy Shevchenko.”

The Rossoneri have made no secret of their desire to make the loan move permanent, as Crespo has long been a favourite of Coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The Argentine was slowly coaxed into form during his first Serie A campaigns at Parma and has had a special rapport with the tactician ever since.

Chelsea were also seemingly happy with the arrangement, but Crespo’s scoring record for Milan of late has prompted them to push the price-tag up as much as they can.

After all, the Stamford Bridge side did pay £16.8m to take him away from Inter just two years ago, but so far Milan’s directors have offered just £5m to complete the switch.

OMG WOOOOOOOO

Erm, yes Jose, I know if I were Milan I would certainly give up Shevchenko and keep Crespo...sounds like good busines to me...

Being at a professional club and playing professionally is two different things. And Rooney is only 19 years old. And I think we're looking at stats here too much. If you compare Rooney's and Drogba's performances this season, in terms of the influence the player has on the game, the assists, etc, Rooney has been waaaaaaaaay better than Drogba.
Rooney has won games single handedly, like how guys like Lampard or Henry do but Drogba hasnt done that. And if you compare the goals, Rooney has probably scored the best set of goals in the country. And they seem to get better and better.

LAMPARD YOU DIVING CUNT!!!

About 1 yard outside the area and no contact at all.

Lampard got his cock out and Mike Riley started sucking.

HAHAHAHHA OMG MAKELELE, HIS FIRST GOAL FOR CHELSEA. THAT WAS HILARIOUS. YAYYAYAYAYAYYA. WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, NO TIME FOR LOSERS, COS WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, I AM ECSTATIC, THAT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEK.

Lampard took a blatant dive that was well out of the area and he got a penalty.

Shocking.

That was a disgrace , In this I lost some respect for Lampard ( wont even be a second mention of it , much worst that the Diouf incident imo )

andy gray saying there was definate contact . Cunt...

Yeah, guys dont jump to conclusions calling Lampard a liar, go download replays, its clear that his left foot was caught. Some great pics of the trophy over at getty images.

Did this match even matter? If you wanted to complain about Chelsea's way of winning, you should have done it ages ago.
Congrats if I never said it earlier.

This was a tipical RvN and Liedson move... hope to see this in WE9. LOL

Lampard was touched, maybe minimally, but it was outside the box.

Does it matter now? These things happen all the time. Remember Pires's dive last season which helped them salvage a draw which then kept their undefeated streak intact? If there ever was a dive that people had to complain about, it was that one. But this match wasnt even important.
