Re: Chelsea FC thread

Concerning Jarosik - I have never seen this player play before. Ive checked out his FM stats though :p. They are pretty decent for a backup DMF for either Tiago/Geremi/Maka. Hes 26 or 27 now? Im unsure. But he will do fine as a loan for maybe 6 months until Parker comes back into action.

The formation last night was the usual Jose 4-3-3 lining up as follows.
-----------------Drogba------------------
----Robben-------------------Duff-------
-------------------------------------------
---Lampard---Makelele------Cole-----
-------------------------------------------
Smertin--Terry-----Gallas--Ferriera---
-----------------Cech--------------------

Drogba gets a starting place after he comes back after his groin injury.
Gudjohnsen dropped forr either bad perf at Liv or just plain tiredness, im unsure.
Same goes for Tiago.
Bridge still unfit, so Smertin is bought in at left back, which he has played before, Johnson came on for him on 52 minutes.
Gallas still gets a starting place as Carvalho is injured.
JC gets a start for all his brilliant hard work during this festive period.

2-0 Very Convincing, maybe deserved a lot more.

Happy happy happy !! we're 7 points ahead.mates 16 games to go and hopefully our players can stay focused and 'storm' all the way to the title.

The fixtures are going to come thick and fast now, League Cup, FA Cup, CL, Premiership, injuries, suspensions. Here's hoping though.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Geremi - virus, should be back by the 8th.
Bridge - calf, should be back by the 8th.
Parker - broken metatarsal, should be back by the 12th of Febuary.
Carvalho - broken toe, should be back by the 8th.
Huth - ankle, should be back by the 15th.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Im so glad Drogba has started to show what he can do. He's still recovering from the injury he picked up and finally he looks like hes back to normal.

Everyone has slated Drogba but i think if u look at his record its not that bad

He has started 5 games in the prem this season and came on as a sub 5 times. He has scored 6! Not bad goin if u ask me.
Played in three in europe and has three goals.
So all together thats 9 goals in 13 appearances.

And considering Henry didnt score in his first 9 games for arsenal i think everyone should start to realise what a threat Drogba will soon become.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

So Jarosik has signed a 2 and a half year contract , which Chelsea can terminate after 6 months, if they so wish. Jarosik also said:

"I must admit that I am little bit nervous.....I can't speak English well and I can't drive a car on the right-hand side of the road. But such a big opportunity like this may only come once in my career. It is an incredible challenge for me."

Re: Chelsea FC thread

You lucky guys :P I miss Mourinho in FCP, he's the best coach in the world, and Paulo Ferreira and Ricardo Carvalho are awsome players too.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Jirosik imo is not Chelsea material. His defensive abilities are very average. When he was in serie A, he was slow, stiff and not very quick.

With Reggina he was not even their best defensive player. IMO He is not wha Chelsea need. He cant deal with the Serie A defence, so playing in Europe will be harder for him.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

hm, he's just a replacement for parker right. what ever happened to geremi?

i know nothing about jarosik, but he just doensn't seem like a footballer chelsea would buy, hence the fact they can terminate the contract in six months

I think you're confusing him with Martin Jiranek. Jiri Jarosik has never played in Serie A. Prior to CSKA Moscow, he played for Sparta Prague and Slovan Liberec, FK teplice etc.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Jarosik just joined our team, according to soccernet.com

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Czech midfielder Jiri Jarosik has completed a move from CSKA Moscow to Chelsea on a two-and-a-half year deal.
Jarosik agreed a long-term contract and will move to Stamford Bridge for a fee believed to be in the region of £5.5m.

"I'm very happy and proud to have joined a club like Chelsea - it's like a dream come true for me," Jarosik, 27, told Chelsea's official website.

"I hope I will become an important part of the squad and help Chelsea to achieve their goals for the season."

Jarosik is eligible to play immediately for Chelsea, but he will not be able to take part in the Champions League having already played in the competition for CSKA
From BBC Sport

Just cover for the injured Parker? , or maybe someone on their wayout?

WOW. What a performance. Its goals that win games.

Nah, it's Mike Riley that wins games.

(Apologies for the lateness of this comment, just returned from hols)

Oh, and player rating? Add this:- Riley, 8, dominated in the penalty box, this player surely to have large effect in the big games during the coming months. Played decisive role in combining with Lampard to take Alonso out of the game.

Just kidding mind. ;) Thought Chelsea did well to keep us out in the first half. Chelsea took their chance and Liverpool have had many of those over the years. :D Bitter? Well, only for the fact that Alonso is out for three months - crumbs, we must have a team of injured players by now. :(

Re: Chelsea FC thread

3-1 Chelsea wins FA cup against S. United, Very Unusual Starting Formation.

Duff, Terry, Lampard, Gallas, Bridge, Makelele, Cech all rested for the game.

Bring on MAN UTD! Carling cup on Wednesday. ur Going Down Fergie!

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Oh after fergies last performance, im sure they're going down because that was pathetic.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

the carling cup is this wed? chelsea v man u so quickly... i'm sure both sides are going to put out as strong a side as they possibly can...

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Another home game. Im happy. Although we do usually seem to struggle penetrating their defence.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Injury updates ahead of the United game.

Forssell (Who we have back now since he returned from loan as his loan deal was cancelled due to his knee injury. Will be back in april.
Bridge is still struggling with his calf and will be back on the 15th. Same goes for Huth and Carvalho with an ankle problem and broken toe respectively. And Parker will still be back on feb 12th with this broken metatarsal.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Expect the Carling Cup game to be tougher cuz we'll have a much stronger side with Smith and Rooney starting.

I bet you'll sell Forssell before he plays for you but has Veron gone for good or is he expected to be back?

Re: Chelsea FC thread

If not he will be moving somewhere else but im almost certain he wont be back in Chelsea.
