o btw do u guys reckon that arjen robben looks like tin-tin facially even though he is deadly with the ball

Re: Chelsea FC thread

wow, just have to say, that little exchange of passes from tiago and robben that resulted in the tiago goal was really something.

even being a man united supporter, ive got to say i fully enjoy the brand of football chelsea is performing

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Yeah, Robben is looking senasational. His runs are superb.

...that will be the badge for the next 100 years, although i think the black text will be in gold next season. It's a copy of he 1950s badge of yesteryear. I wonder how it will look on the Nike strips.

PS. I wish people would stop saying we're from the King's Road. Sure, it's Chelsea most recognised road, but it's a media thing. Stamford Bridge is down Fulham Broadway on the Fulham Road, which happens to run parallel to the King's Road.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

No, i doubt it. Apparently he didn't actually have a good game when actually being watched. He'll probably remain an option though. I keep saying this, but i would want Cole back. Although i've heard our name mentioned in the same sentence as Bojinov amongst others. He isn't going anywhere until next summer anyway, and so wouldn't be a January transfer.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

For what I mostly concern recently is, when Drogba is back, can he get used the style of what we're playing now? can he play with Robben and Duff? I think if Drogba is fit and can play with the team well, no other team can threat us for the silverware then.

We're not the team that is 2 months ago. We can now play more smooth and use the ball well than before.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

im sure drogba has played with duff, but not with robben. drogba is very adaptable, as shown by his ability to play for a much renovated chelsea side (from marseille)

i also think playing with robben will benefit you lot because drogba has one mean header, and if you have robben on the left side spraying those crosses in there: opposing golkeepers beware.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Holy Crap yes! Drogba thrives on the high balls whipped in. It's a big part of his game. With Duff and robben on either side, he should be loving it. It remains to be seen whether Jose keeps that frontline though. He may keep Robben, playing off Drogba and Gudjohnsen though. Duff may be sacrificed. I know it sounds silly, but we will have to wait and see. Personally i would like to see the DDR (Duff, Drogba, Robben) trident.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

I think it's hard to say Bojinov is good or not. He only played good at this season and it's still have a long way to go. There have many players in the world who can play well in one season but after that, they just play as a decent player.

What I can say is, Bojinov is talented and has potential and I dont mind if he come to Stamford, but he need to proof himeself is worth the money.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Meh, 2-0 up. Jose won't be pleased. Respect to Bolton though, a team i admire. They are very physical and difficult to play against. Infact, they've played all of last seasons top 5 finishing teams and haven't lost to any of them. They are a bit of a bogey team for the big sides. Still top though....just.

I hear Drogba should be on the bench against PSG. I wonder who'll start, seeing as we don't need to win. I imagine there'll be some resting going on. Will we see Oliveira and Morais?

Re: Chelsea FC thread

So, it looks as if we want to buy Robinho from Santos this January for £14 Million. I've heard lots of people going on about him, and i've seen a bit of him at International level. But the question remains. Is he worth £14 Million within a Premiership context? He looks a bit small/skinny. I imagine he's the kind of player Jose would have brought to Porto, had he still been there.
Apparently Robinho really wants to play in Europe though. Something to do with his mother being kidnapped before in Brazil. It seems though that it takes Brazilians a while to settle in England, if ever. What are other people's thoughts on the guy?

Re: Chelsea FC thread

Yeah i just read that. It's probably best imo. I mean i wouldn't want some player who's just passing through. I don't think he would like it in the Premiership either, and he'd probably find it tough adapting to life in the UK. I think we should look for more physical forwards, like Bojinov, or bring back Carlton Cole.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

I really want Carlton to come back but I think he realises he'd probably be third/fourth choice (:() and with Vassell injured at Villa, it looks as if he's staying.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

What do you guys think of Drogba in the last game? I havent watch that game.

Re: Chelsea FC thread

He had 30 mins. Had a great chance but fluffed it (good save by the keeper though). Looked a bit rusty as you might expect. Hopefully he'll be on from the start this weekend and get a goal or two.

Re: Chelsea FC thread (5 points clear)

Thought there'd be loads of you lot thanking us after yesterday on the Liverpool thread. Oh well....

Re: Chelsea FC thread (5 points clear)

I thought there were three cracking goals :applause: - good game for the neutral 8) ...and Chelsea of course.... :D

You don't need another goal-scorer though, You already have 3 high-class players(Drogba, Gudjohnsen, Kezman) for just one position.

Re: Chelsea FC thread (5 points clear)

Another match, another win... fair play to you, the strongest squad in Premiership history. Current team is top class, the 2 best goalies in the league, 2 best wide players (Duff and Robben), and when he's fully fit probably one of the top 2-3 strikers (Drogba)... could well be the first English team to win all the trophies this season, League Cup, League, FA Cup and CL - hard to think of a team who'll stop you, only Barca and Juve would come close.

whoa whoa whoa, two best goalies? top 2-3 forward?
whoa whoa, lets slow down there, and not go nuts, Shearer, henry, Ruud, Saha, Kluviert,
Hasselbank, etc... i could go on, these guys have actually scored some goals drogba has done nothing since he has been here but get hurt, I think Milan, Barca, United, Arsenal, Juv, Bayern(they havent given up a goal yet i dont think), could all beat chelsea in the CL, they are on a good run, but lets not get crazy

Re: Chelsea FC thread (5 points clear)

Which Goalies in the PL are better than Cech and Cudicini ? Only ones who I think come close are Robinson, maybe Kirkland... but the fact Chelsea have conceeded only 6 goals which season suggests to me at least that no other club has a better keeper. Cech has played most matches this season, but in the ones Cudicini's played in he's looked on top form - he was the best keeper in the league last season, its no coincidence that Chelsea's form dipped when he was injured and Sullivan and Ambrosio stepped in.

Shearer was a great striker but he’s just lost an edge of pace, he's still a good striker but passed his peak and I'd rate a fair few other Premier League strikers ahead of him (eg Defoé, Baros). Henry is probably the best striker in the league, and probably still will be for the forseeable future. Van Nistelrooy's a good striker, don’t really rate Saha that much - hard to see him starting that many games anyway. Kluivert again is a good striker but I think Drogba will end up being a better overall striker, coz of his injury he's only played a handful of games. But if you look at his performances for OM last season you'll see he was a top class striker. Even in the few games he's played for Chelsea he looked quality. The PSG match in the Parc Des Princes springs to mind where he scored with a decent strike from the edge of the box in just at the end of the 1st half and a neat free kick in the 2nd half. He'd scored a few decent headers too, one v Porto at home and also at Palace.

Well in theory any team could beat them, but in the cold light of day Chelsea have already seen off Man Utd this season so I don’t think they'll have any problems if they face them again, esp. if Utd don’t improve their current away form in Europe. Chelsea beat a more in form Arsenal team in last years CL and now Arsenal seem to going off the boil a bit these last few games, picking up suspensions and showing signs of fatigue etc. Barca and Juve are undoubtedly big threats and have great squads, I could see them - particularly Juve with their tight defence beating Chelsea. Milan and Bayern might pose a threat but to be honest I expect the current Chelsea side to beat them.
