davids will be cup tied....he has made the difference for them since he joined so him being out is a bonus. I ope sutton is ok cause we are gonna need him

Well if we're going to do it then it'll be the hard way - the winners play Villarreal or Roma in the last 8, then Genclerbigli, Bruges, Bordeaux or Valencia in the semi-finals.

I wanted the Nou Camp or the Stadio Olympico, can't beat the buzz of a big game, and I think we perform better in them anyway than in smaller games. Looks like we could be going to both venues :).

Can't wait, it will be f*ckin' great! what an atmosphere we will have at paradise for the next two games.
Rangers on Sunday and Barca on Thursday it doesnt get much better! YEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

What a feckin honkin game it was today, thought the midfield was far too crowded for any passing to be done, both played 5 in the middle.

Important thing was we won, and that was Rangers' strongest team with us only having one recognised striker available. Thought Thompson had a quiet game again, no chance he'll be selected, he can forget it now. Moore gave Beattie a nice kick about 20 yards off the ball when he came on, and Klos just lynched him, he's lucky the ball went out or it would have been a red.

O'Neill says Sutton is a doubt for Thursday, I think he'll risk him myself.

Woeful game, but good result.

Celtic will risk Sutton no doubt, it didn't really work with Petrov pushed up alongside Larsson. I saw Balde got the MOM, but I thought McNamara or Lennon should've got it. Agathe and Thommo where minging.

FD

Didn't think Agathe was that bad, made a few decent runs down the flank. McNamara wasted a fair few balls where he just passed without looking at times, he wasn't poor by any standard but don't think he was really near MOM, which I would give to Larsson - I think people just write him off for the MOM now, even a below-par performance by his standards is better than the rest at times. If not Larsson then Varga or Bobo.

I never said Agathe was bad, I said he was minging......that's worse. Sorry the guy can be a liability at times. Jackie's distribution might've been bad, but so was every other player's, usually Varga and Thommo are good with passes, but they where awful yesterday. Larsson had a good game, but wouldn't have warranted a MOM, it really had to come from a defensive player as balls where just being pumped up the park and the midfield where being really by-passed.

What do we reckon for tommorrow night? I fancy a 1-0 but I don't think that will be enough to take to the Nou Camp.

Hopefully Sutton will make it because we did not look entirely convincing with the one up on Sunday.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Ronaldinho in the flesh though :)

Some reports on Celtic MBs suggesting Sutton is definitely out and is seeing a specialist on Friday, I'll wait for confirmation from some news sources first but it's not looking too good. Also reports Balde is struggling.

Sorry but I can't see Barca not scoring tomorrow night, they are on fire up front, Xavi is playing really well lately from the midfield. That said they are poor at the back, and are not the biggest team either, so we will get chances. Puyol is reported to be in doubt for the game but I think that's wishful thinking.

I said 2-1 to Celtic based on Sutton playing, I'll stick with that whether he is or not.

Score draw, 1-1 and the away goal will haunt you after you draw 0-0 at the Nou Camp.

Apparently Ronaldinho is raging because Rangers put out PSG in the UEFA Cup a few seasons back and he's going to take out his rage on Celtic.
"Scottish Football owes it to me."
I'm all for it.

Pity Davids can't play but I don't think he would have made that much of a difference and it's disappointing that Gio hurt his knee and is out as well.
Barca's defence is looking cack but then so is Celtic's attack. Larsson up on his own again won't work tomorrow night. It's not Rangers you're playing. Sutton is definitely out according to Sky Sports News.

Aye so 1-1. Larsson will score for Celtic and Rab Douglas will score the greatest own goal ever. An overhead kick from a corner perhaps. Then he'll receive a medal from Sepp for being a chumpy.
Here's hoping.

I think the state of the pitch just now could also be of some advantage to us. It is really badly cutting up. Barca wont be used to that kind of surface at all

:( Shit. Someone did mention that, hopefully it's a smokescreen.

It puts great seeds of doubt in my mind now with both big strikers out. I am looking forward to the game nonetheless. As Ess mentioned the park is really bad at the moment, so hopefully Ronaldinho will get his teeth in a twist trying to control the ball...........here's hoping.

Did anybody else see Jose Mourinho's comments on Sunday I seen this on planet football

"Mourinho saw the Barca match at Parkhead, and says that the hosts employed their usual strong-arm tactics to try and unsettle Barca.

He says that the Spanish side should win the tie as their better technical ability will eventually shine through.

"What I watched in Glasgow didn't shock me," said Mourinho.

"I remember their behaviour being similar in the tunnel and dressing room area at half-time in the UEFA Cup Final in Seville. It was not sporting. WTF is this guy on!!!!

"Celtic use an aggressive style of play in the hope their opponents will buckle.

"But football will always be the winner and we showed that in Seville.

"We kept the ball and Celtic just ran all over the pitch trying to get to us with their horrible and aggressive style.

"But it will be a different story in the Nou Camp in the next leg. Barcelona have style and they can win the tournament.

"All they have to do is keep their foot on the ball and not panic if they haven't scored in the first 10 minutes.

"They are superior to Celtic and have more quality."

What a Dick

The guy is a complete dick.

He needs to look at the actions of his own Dirty Team before handing out advice to others. They spent more time time wasting on the grass in seville than playing. Victor Bia's hop skip and jump in extra time will long be remembered.

The sooner UEFA crack down on these cheating bastards the better.

Yeah he really is a mouth. Good manager but a twat into the bargain.

Against Porto they clearly had better footballing quality, but we where the team that looked like where going to win before Bobo got stupidly sent off.

MON's reply:

"Mourinho's comments are just unbelievable. I just treat them with the response they deserve," said O'Neill.

"He's still to get over the embarrassment of Vitor Baia lying out on the turf for three or four days.

"The television pictures picked out Alex (Ferguson) once against Porto when the little Brazilian Carlos Alberto had fallen down for the fifth time in four minutes.

"I saw him looking across with one of those laughable looks that Alex gives you and somewhere along the way, if it is a continuation of things that happened last year, the coach has to take responsibility for people's behaviour."

That last bit basically accusing Mourinho of telling his players to dive, which btw I have no doubt whatsoever he does do, but to come out and say it is another thing - good on you MON .

 LOL..........class.

I also remember MO saying something along the lines how when Porto scored the players would 'Run round the stadium five times, run out the stadium and into Seville town centre and then back again'.

what makes me laugh is the way they swear they are doing nothing wrong, and with a straight face, I'm always expecting one of the coaches of these teams to burst out laughing...

just read the news of the world and Gerry (the ger) Mcnee has had his say on this basicaly he is on the side of Mr (my players are angles) Mourinho the vast majority of the page slags celtic as dirty hackers basicaly...... "Celtic and their fans are due a rude awakening and if it comes at the Camp Nou it will be no bad thing. The sonner the better."....... "Who knows, when we return from our summer breaks maybe the over-rated, puffed-up, self-important Irish leaping leprechaun will be the new England manager, (ho, ho!)"
I just dont get it with him what is his problem Celtic are a phyisical side so what thats what most of Brittish football is like.

Gerry GET A GRIP!

McNee is a total wanker. He keeps giving pelters to Scottish Football (Mainly Old Firm) and constantly keeps blurting on about Alex Ferguson. If everything is that bad, maybe he should get to fuck down to the English press...........oh wait, just like the OF, he ain't wanted down there either.

Tries to be controversial, however only succeeds in being an arsehole.
