Instead of Benfica we will have Vitória de Guimaraes. It could happen a Liverpool-V.Guimarães in 3rd Qualifying Round of Champions League.

Quique Sánchez Flores back with Benfica

SL Benfica have appointed Quique Sánchez Flores as their new coach with the 43-year-old Spaniard signing a two-year contract with the Lisbon giants.

Sánchez Flores had not taken up a coaching role since October 2007 when he was dismissed by Valencia CF after two fine seasons at Mestalla. Benfica had been without a permanent coach since the departure of José Antonio Camacho in March, when Fernando Chalana took the reins as caretaker.

'Ambition and patience'
"We will be demanding and we want to achieve important objectives, something that Benfica have managed in the past," said Sánchez Flores. "We will have the ambition and patience needed to get to the top. I don't want to make any promises, as we will be successful. We'll have to be very ambitious but always very focused. That's very important." Benfica will play in the UEFA Cup first round next season after finishing fourth in the Portuguese Liga.

Great players being "burned" at benfica is no news.

But I figure that he will probably get a chance next year.

Hope they let Adu show more skill this year, and that think again about Fabio Coentrão, Di Maria was starting to show some progress in the last games of the season so maybe we can see a new Di Maria this season.
We NEED to get a Star for the team ASAP!!!!

Sporting havent moved to Grimi, because they are trying to lower his price ( 3 million is to much ) even when we have 15 million to spend...

What about Rodriguez?
Theres no money for his salary, isnt it?

Benfica is almost done with theyr economy problems (They only have like 50/60 million in debts) and , i heard this from an economist in a show on tv, that if Sporting don't liquidate theirs from around 190/200 million to lower then 150 until the end of the current year, they won't be able to do transfers for the next season, or they will if they satrt decreasing their squad and lowering the salaries to.
So Benfica, with all the marketing done by LFV for the Benfica Member card, as done fruits and Benfica have almost no financial problems atm. We just need more 2/3 years and then we r ready to go.
NOTE: I will laugh if that so called "project" of yours fails and Sporting can't do transfers or speding a little cent in a bubble gum. Lol

Looks like Pongolle and Carlos Martins are going to Benfica.

Average players IMO.

And bad news for you, Katsoranis wants to leave.

I think its only speculation, "kike" has other targets, and they are a lot better. But even if they come, its because they have potential.

There is a possibility that Miccoli will leave Palermo. I read that Benfica are trying to get him back! I'd love it if that happens.

Anyway, I heard Rui Costa say last night that the reason Queque was chosen was because of was foreign (not the only reason of course). He said it himself, and I can understand, it was because people have more patience with a foreign coach than with an portuguese.

That would be GREAT! He should never have left, in my opinion..

About Carlos Martins, one thing you cannot say is that he doesn't have potential...but that's his problem, he will never show his best because football is not his priority. But if he did he would be an hell of a player, if you ask me.

rodriguez is gone
he's an excellent player but he wanted money that we couldn't give and now he'll probably head for porto. but i think rui costa made a good decision, rodriguez didn't show any intention of staying unless unless we paid him money that he probably doesn't deserve
i'm not a hipocrit so i won't wish him any luck if he goes to porto but if i were a porto supporter i'd be very happy with this signing
