On a more serious note. That will never happen, surely not with Vieira at the helm.
Remember that he sacked Mourinho? Just one of the many shots on the foot by Vieira.
He also sacked Jesualdo. He also never let Maniche play in the first team of Benfica. He also said that Jardel was not compatible with Mantorras. Mantorras was worth (20 milhoes de contos) 100M€ (in Vieira's words). If you had Jardel you would have won the league.

And don't tell that some of these were done by Manuel Vilarinho. He was just there to drink wine all day. LOL. Vieira just went with Vilarinho the first time to prepare his way into the presidency.

In the end I'm glad you have him. But on the other hand I do enjoy a well played competitive league.

Rúben Amorim tem acordo com o Benfica

Rúben Amorim já chegou a acordo para representar o Benfica nas próximas cinco épocas. Em fim de contrato com o Belenenses, o jogador terá rubricado recentemente um pré-acordo com o emblema da águia, uma vez que, face aos regulamentos, os novos contratos só podem ser registados na Liga a partir do dia 1 de Abril, apesar de os futebolistas poderem comprometer-se quando faltarem menos de seis meses para caducar o contrato vigente.

O médio belenense será a primeira contratação do Benfica da era Rui Costa dirigente, que oficialmente terá início em 2008/09. Depois de um primeiro lamiré dado pelo técnico Jorge Jesus no sentido da saída de Rúben Amorim no final da temporada - até porque sai pelo preço da formação -, o próprio jogador já havia admitido que o abandono do Restelo estaria próximo. No entanto, nessa altura houve quem o apontasse ao mercado espanhol, pois terá sido observado por Valência, Corunha e Atlético de Madrid, mas O JOGO sabe que o Benfica andou mais rápido e assegurará o concurso do jogador por cinco temporadas.

Benfica should focus of holding the 2nd place and the directors and president should start to think about a plan for the next season, if they don't, it will be from the team with a record in fans, to a team with the lowest members in the world.
Seeing them play feels like they have been playing every day an important game, every1 except C. Rodriguez, isn't playing with heart, they are just playing the game like "I don't f*cking care about scoring goals, i just want my money in the end of the month so lets kick some balls every weekend so that they don't complain much", even against fuckin Getafe they are making childish mistakes, attack midfield defense goalkeeper.
After a game of benfica im ashamed of liking them and ask myself why the hell i support them...

Well, Ive been playing with benfica in pes6 (lol yeah) and have been trying some tactics formations etc, and have seen these problems, quite obvious but still here i have most of them or at least the most important ones:
If Leo gets injured or exhausted of playing too much benfica doesn't have a good left defender in their squad and even with the quality that Leo as (he really does), he is too short to handle certain players that go around his area of play;
Other one is that besides Luisao, which is a medium to average center back, theres not a single guy to do this job, at least like Luisao does, and for a club like benfica this is disgraceful.
The same case about Leo happens to Nelson, even if IRL he tries to make way by dribbling and often loses the ball he is consistent and if he is injured or exhausted Luis Filipe is an awful player that shouldn't even be considered professional footballer.
Next, Quim is too short and too slow and makes decisions that aren't appropriate of a professional goalkeeper, and if some1 watches a game of benfica, it gets quite obvious.
Now to the Rui Costa thing, he is amazing, period, and benfica is where it is now because of his amazing talent and brilliant passes/decisions, but if he is out in the end of this season like he already said he will, then benfica needs to find a player to substitute him because ALL the team doesn't work without him, either in pes or irl he is the center of all tactic and when he leaves, we will really want him back, thats for sure.
For the attack, Cardozo even if he as a good left foot, thats the only good thing about him, he lacks speed, he lacks header, he lacks right foot, yet he is a striker, damn benfica surely love to give chances to outsiders that are not a big deal, yet they don't give a damn crap about training their youth and giving them an opportunity to shine in the first team like ManU does. Adu is the most obvious one, he is a really talented player but since benfica fucking rules and is playing amazingly well, they think "Heh he is 18, he doesn't need to play lets kill the guy and attach him to the bench till he is 30 and leaves football hahahaha........ oh snap! we'r in second place paired with vitoria and at 14 point of porto, the leader, we sure need to play our best players and pray to god that porto will somehow infect every single player with AIDS or some rare desease (joking) so that we get something this year".
Just to end this, the actual fault of all this situation is some one in the benfica administration team and wears a mustache, wonder who that person is? >_>'

Lets see, they let micolli go because they didn't want to pay 5 million, yet they pay 9 million for Cardozo, then Simão is sold for 20 million to Atletico Madrid (too low, it should be around 30 or more, just like Quaresma) and option for 2 players, which we will never see coming even if i hope we could get Aguero and a defender/winger, but benfica is always amazing at taking decisions so we may get candy instead of players...

Cardozo was a very good signing. We've found a cameroon talent called Bynia and bought an amazing centre back David Luiz. Also Adu, Di Maria and Cristian Rodriguez (Hope he stay with us) were great.
The problem were the other signings. Lets see: Butt, Zoro, Edcarlos, Luis Filipe, Andrés Diaz, Makukula, etc. None of these players has sufficient quality to wear the shirt of Benfica.

EdCarlos and Makukula are good signings but never to play all the time.

Rui Costa deseja Lippi e Vieira insiste em Queiroz
Marcello Lippi foi contactado pelo Benfica para suceder a Fernando Chalana no início da próxima época. Fonte contactada pelo CM garantiu que, apesar do interesse em Carlos Queiroz – o preferido de Luís Filipe Vieira –, é Marcello Lippi o alvo prioritário para orientar os encarnados em 2008/09.

O técnico italiano está sem treinar desde 12 de Julho de 2006, três dias após a conquista do título mundial em Berlim, frente à França (vitória 5-3 após grandes penalidades) e encontra-se receptivo a ouvir a proposta encarnada.
A mesma fonte refere ainda que, caso se confirme a 'opção Lippi', esta custará ao Benfica 1,5 milhões de euros/ano (menos 300 mil do que Camacho), e terá o cunho pessoal de Rui Costa, grande admirador das qualidades técnicas, tácticas e humanas do ex- seleccionador italiano, que poderá contar com um adjunto bem conhecido dos benfiquistas: Paulo Sousa. O antigo internacional português foi jogador de Lippi na Juventus (1994/96) e seria peça fulcral na estrutura técnica devido ao profundo conhecimento do futebol nacional.
Com 59 anos, Marcello Lippi tornou-se à frente da squadra azzurra – substituiu Giovanni Trapattoni em 2004 –, no único treinador campeão mundial por um clube e por uma selecção (Juventus em 1996 e Itália em 2006), superando o seu compatriota Arrigo Sacchi, até então o único técnico campeão mundial de clubes (AC Milan 1989 e 1990) a disputar uma final de um Campeonato do Mundo de Selecções (derrota com o Brasil, em 1994).
Com passagens marcantes pela Juventus (1994-1999 e 2001-2004), onde venceu cinco campeonatos (os últimos cinco da Vecchia Signora), 1 Taça de Itália, 1 Supertaça, 1 Taça Intercontinental e 1 Liga dos Campeões, Lippi iniciou a carreira de treinador na Sampdoria (equipaB), tendo passado ainda pelo Siena, Atalanta e Nápoles.

Marcello Lippi to manage Benfica will be great. As I said before Carlos Carvalhal is my favorite but this italian is a fantastic coach and he could make Benfica stronger.

There are other clubs interested in Lippi (Barcelona, Inter...)
I believe that you guys will have Carlos Carvalhal or Jorge Jesus, both of them are good managers...

Lol, just because Benfica as been playing badly for these past years, people seem to forget that Benfica used (and still can) be one of the greatest of Europe, and play hand to hand with teams like Real Madrid or Man United for example. They just have had awful presidents and lots of financial problems which lead to lack of money for spending in good players. I will give it more 1/2 years so that Benfica will be the Great it was some years back.

Mourinho would be a dream but Humberto Coelho could sort some problems...
