Me too, I thought he may have been too thirsty so he just tipped the ball to the Saints strikers, be done with it and sip from his bottle. Either that or there is something other than water in that bottle of his.
On another note, Podolski left on loan to Inter. It was expected, but I can't say I'm happy with that. First of all Podolski had been on fire not long ago scoring wonderful strikes in the Champions League but got inexplicably dropped from the team for the following matches. For a striker this must be really puzzling. Score a brace here and there and get benched by your boss. Watch people being improvised in your position, but you still don't get a look from the manager. This must be truly frustrating for the player.
Good luck to him at Inter. Incredibly enough, it's a loan deal too. If Wenger doesn't want to use him at all, I'm sure he could have found a permanent move for a German international who's just took part in a World Cup winning squad?
I mean, come on, we're not trying to shift Bendtner here! Just sell the guy and at least make some money off him.
Those kind of deals, the inactivity in key moments in the transfer market, the whole thing about going with 6 defenders into a new season, and the lack of a commanding and physical DMF for 6 or 7 years now... All of this starts to outweigh even the great things such as the Alexis deal.
At the end of the day, we have a fantastic player such as Alexis but we're still 6th in the table. We're over halfway through the season and still struggling to break into the top 4.
