Is zis ze beginning of Le Collapse? After all, it's February, it's time for a complete shambles. And we're oh so used to it.
The right thing to do is to consider this game as 3 points lost in the table and nothing more. Of course there are the lessons to be learned, but we need some tiny bit of confidence going into the next games and the mentality of still being in the fight.
The only way to avoid the February crisis is to get our shit together by beating United on Wednesday and knocking Liverpool out of the FA cup next weekend.
That's the only way to exorcise the ghosts.
Today's game was not only a freak occurrence but there was a stark difference between the way both teams play football. By the time we were already 0-4 down, we had more possession, but who gives a fuck? Our passing game is too slow. Liverpool, in contrast, got in the face of Sczcesny with 2 or 3 touches on the ball.
And what's more, they showed that killer instinct that Arsenal never has. When they smell blood they go relentlessly for more. When Arsene's Arsenal plays a great match and open up a 2-0 lead, the team takes its foot off the gas and 'control' the match, only to give away one goal in the later stages of a match and find themselves having to soak up the pressure. Familiar scenario? I've certainly seen this time and time again from Arsenal. Utterly frustrating.
Questions will be asked about our record signing Özil, and rightly so. For the umpteenth time this season he did fuck all and, what's worse, not only omitted himself offensively, but he also gave the ball away cheaply for 2 of their goals.
I'm still getting to know the player better and watch him every week. Maybe I'm wrong, but it feels like his heart's not in it for most of the time.
Wilshere was maybe the only one who showed heart and tried to call some responsibility upon himself.
Anyway, here we go! Oh, and this time the mauling came after the transfer window closed, so no 'panic buying' now
