Arsenal Thread

yea he knows how to stay in a top team without winning a single trophy for 5 years. i dont think even united have that much patience.

:LMAO::LMAO::LMAO::LMAO:

Nothing will push him to spend big, delusional ones thought selling Ade for big bucks will change his attitude. I have always believed Arsene has had enough money to compete in the transfer market maybe not with Real's 200m raid but be able atleast splash 17 to 25m on a player if needs be.

But Arsene believes a player shouldn't cost that much, I remember he was asked in a skysports interview if he would pay 30m for a player and Arsene replied "will he play and score in every match?".

Now Arsene has atleast 35m to spend, if he calls Fulham and says 15m for Hangeland, the guy will be on Arsenal.com in the morning.

The remaining on any DM, we do not need a great DM, just a decent one. Arsene can definitely pull one out his ass for 7-10m.

But why isn't he trying really hard?

Because he is too fucking optimistic, he expect Denilson to shit roses one day, but when will that one day come?

If we trash Everton on saturday we are fucked!!!

Arsene will wink at Gazidis, saying I told you so, the kids are great.

the thing is, who would boot out wenger when he has made a SHIT LOAD of money in selling/buying players?

The board will never let wenger go because he is a good business man and although united chelsea and liverpool win trophies, how much does the club get for winning them and how much did these teams spend to achieve that?

I wont take too much on what wenger says atm, He`s fishing at every water hole looking :P . Nothing is biting hard enough to reeel it in just alot of nicking, So Wenger imo is obsess with getting Chamhk on cheap. For those who`s tits are in a knot just stay away from the media outlets for awhile.Remember for wenger 24 hrs is lots of time to do business

The thing is wenger is obsess about getting a player that scored 13 goal last term in ligue 1 and that have not prove anything yet, to me hes chamakh is a kid with talent but I doubt will develop into a zlatan style striker, I mean Arsenal and sunderland are interested in him, thats means alot about his quality... oh well

I just think Wenger and Fergie recognise that there's no value in the market this summer, and that the marginal difference one new player will make isn't worth the ridiculous sums that are being touted about. And they clearly believe that the market will settle next summer/January. Might be true, who knows.

Other option is that Wenger has accepted that the days of his transfer policy being able to win the league are over, ever since Abramovich stepped up to the plate. United strengthed and spent as a result, as did Liverpool, and now Arsenal can't compete. The title-winning sides before CSKA London weren't nearly as strong as they are today, even the invincibles.

Until there's a salary cap/ the 6+5 rule actually happens, money is going to be more and more important. City will win the league in 5 years, as long as the group continue to have 100x as much spending power as any other team.

that`s what he likes to get a player and improve on them. How many goals did Ade get on the bench of Monaco before coming here? Wenger will never buy a proven striker `cause of the price tag. When asked w`d he pay a 30mil on a player? He responded "Will he score in every game". Wenger has an eye for talent he just can`t get the loyal ones.

The loyals one?? how can someone be loyal when he got picked up at the age of 16-17 to play for arsenal... then then 3-4 year later big club like milan or real madrid wants him...sure he will leave.

buying proven striker is good for business and is good for the club image.

Wenger cant buy proven striker cause no Proven striker wanna play for a (youth team).

We need to buy a PROVEN player just to erase that image that arsenal have now.

we have a image of a club of youth player trying to win something and failed for the past 5 years...wich PROVEN player would like to go there???
we need to rebuild arsenal image.

but its My opinion, you might disagree.

2 years ago? arsenal was named one of the richest club? till we didnt buy anyone, and tooked like everything to sign Arshavin.

Wenger to me is having is last test with arsenal this season, if he failed, he will be fired no doubt about it.

I agree this summer, the price tags on player is ridiculous but till theres alot of bargain out there. exemple : milan bought Hunterlaar for 15mil. Hunterlaar actualy worth 15mill but we didnt make any serious move on him. we could have actualy get viera for zero penny , just to had a lil debt to the squad while injurys will hit us, but nop we didnt, result he signed again for inter. we have 1 week to make a move and I hope he does cause he we fail this season, we can say goodbye to a great manager.

well ,I`m judging by past behavior and spending doesn`t always equal ( = ) success. I wont compare us to other clubs ,but players like flamini,Hleb,Reyes, and Ade are the ones I`m speaking about it goes both ways I guess paddy,Pires,Ljungberg..etc. went out the door so loyalty was a poor word to used :FISH:

As for 16 years old players leaving not sure if the likes of them are at big clubs even Cole did his time before leaving and Fab will do the same I imagine. And last thing I heard the window closes 31/8 not Saturday.Wenger`s behavior is backed by the board of directors so wenger wont be sacked imo unless he allows them to do so or the fans can put pressure which I doubt. Anyhoot oops looks like CB #5 is injured Injured Djourou

I don't know exactly what you meant, but Paddy, Pires and Ljungberg were all dropped by AW. That's the problem with his policy, no space for a legend ending his career at Arsenal anymore. The last was Bergkamp. But the others are always dropped in their early 30's. So when players don't stay loyal to Arsenal, we must remember that.

Of course, no excuse for Cashley and Adebarndoor for being such money grabbing bastards though.

players will try and leave rather then sort out their career beyond 30. Wenger puts a fear on players at 28 whose contract is ending and rightly so, but it`s interesting to see gallas might extend his year by year.Pires and ljungberg wanted a 2yr contract and Silva if memory serves me right he wanted AW to show some loyalty ,but Wenger is cut-throat even Titi felt his neck being sized up  I think bergkamp had confidence in his game to stay unlike Hleb he wanted 1 last big payoff imo.Ade too is not confident in his game all you hear from him is scoring is not important it`s contribution....Well a duck that dont quack" ain`t a duck imo..strikers need to score as much as contribute or they`ll be consider an AM imo

Here a rumor Neven Subotic 1.93m 20yrs

Well between Subotic and Hangeland, I'd rather the Norwegian. He's had a great season at Fulham and their defense managed some clean sheets that really impressed me. Hats off to Hodgson as well.

But regarding Hangeland, the thing is, he's very well adjusted to the Prem style and pace, whereas the other lad could struggle in the beginning. Besides, the price tag of 12M suggested by the article is a lot of money for a 20 yr old CB!

You can't even think about Subotic, believe me that he will
not leave Dortmund for the next 2 years ;)

Yeah, he's too young and deserves 1st team football at Dortmund! It would be a shame if he left there to become a substitute.

BTW, I've just read an interesting article on BBC about The Professor
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/8192417.stm

But it also says Wenger intends to change his formation to a 4-3-3
Don't we already look thin at the back?

4-3-3 is the most suitable formation for the players you've got. It will allow much more fluid attacking from Cesc and whoever the 3 upfront are at any given time.

A 4-3-3 is the logical formation to play, I'm sure someone like Song would do good in that formation, guarding the back four, if Wenger doesn't bring in a DM, as he'll have Fabregas and Denilson/Diaby alongside him to help try and win a midfield battle, so he wouldn't be as stretched as he would be in a 4-4-2.

Ahah Alexander helb admit regretting leavin Arsenal on goal.com, ahah I dunno it just feel good to hear this ahah =p.

I say Arsenal Should get Van der vaart!!! he need to leave madrid and I think we can work a bargain deal easily!!
