Arsenal Thread

Not sure If I am watching a football match or a wrestling match.

Edit: It's funny how Arsenal calls Chelsea boring. I fell a sleep once already just watching Arsenal vs Newcastle. Such a slow build up play and Newcastle showing nothing but just playing physically.

You probably fell asleep due to its 6:45 for you :SMUG: No ,seriously it was a dire performance all around. Theo had (2) good chance and the penalty waved off is shocking enough. The red card looked harsh and made the game much harder to play.... you can`t force the opponent to get the ball they just sat at their end hoping to counter. They were frustrated by their own game plan hence the reckless tackles -_-.

This is how Arsenal usually looks in April, heavy legs and lack of ideas. I hope they flip the script and start banging out gol on their own. 3pts lets move on wow £8m net spend Good Lord ! Wenger OUT!

Arsenal team have a really good teams with underrated players with a good potential. I just don't understand Wengers tactics especially when they are playing against a 10 men Newcastle team.

I think Arsenal has a great squad
And Wenger proved last year at certain teams he can use tactics but he needs to do it against everyone not just the odd game

I felt Walcott was the wrong striker for vs newcastle especially after them going down to 10 men also i prefer him cutting into the middile from the right rather than as being the main striker
Giroud has been weird this season other than the great goal vs palace but to me he's looks a bit sluggish not fully match sharp and not holding up the ball as well as he did
For me a main striker is a must

But for me its frustrating as the base of the squad is great but with 2 additions it could like an amazing squad that can put on a more of a serious challenge for bigger things
Like when theres players like Sanchez Ozil and many more
Why wait, go out and finish the jigsaw and aim for high things because without putting the finishing touches in squad its almost like wasting the talents of sanchez and ozil etc...

He just needs to go out go after the last few players arsenal really need
even if it means paying over the odds a bit but get your man
city done it and look at their squad now

Once the goals start coming in (Sanchez,Cazorla etc.) we will be alright. We need to rotate the squad tactfully to the right position none of this unlike for like sort.I think Flamini is done! Arteta won`t get many I prefer we get DM for those stuff physical matches.

Tranfer Deadline Day!

Really hope that we sign at least someone although prefer 2 players.
Honestly I dont see it happening though, Very disappointed about it too,
but who knows usually there is transfer activity on final day of window and wenger is good at keeping deals secret but ofcourse that creates frustration

Wenger needs to take responibility if he doesnt sign anyone
because its always the same story that one or two players short...

6 hours left and nowt on SSN

If you were gonna sign a 'marque' player 'in advanced talks' at least would surely be on the yellow ticker by now...

Wenger Out campaign currently clearing their throats

Arsenal struggled to move out players -_- . Wenger is clueless :) I think he was concentrating on what Chelsea and MUFC would bring.

Plus a few others on loan
With all the players either released or loaned out its shocking that he didnt get someone in
Although arsenal did sign 2 youngsters maybe 3 but honestly who cares because they probably wont even get a sniff of first football for 4 or even 5 years

He shouldn't have loaned out akpom or hayden as im quite concerned about the backup

Giroud and Welbz!

we got wellbeck and sanchez

Welback is a good player he always works hard and gives it all
but sadly he isnt good enough to be the main striker
he just didnt take his chance when giroud was injured
its not good enough 27 starts and only 8 goals plus if you take out his hat trick in champions league...
he had 3 months when giroud was injured to prove himself

Although he did score some very crucial goals last season

I think Welback will be great in champions league or in matches or at times when arsenal can counter attack more

Thats why Welback has a good record for england because teams try to attack england
when vs arsenal its mostly 10 men behind the ball

Welback needs to improve his shooting a bit in my opinion
hes a great poacher but i still feel that he needs to work on his shooting a bit

Im a fan of welback but hes better as a winger or a striker when only its suited for him to be the striker
like mentioned above

Giroud is a good striker he has done well for arsenal but him alone isnt enough because if he gets injured or goes out of form it has cost arsenal dearly in past especially last season

sanchez is fantastic but he plays out wide not in the middle

for me its the same with walcott hes great at cutting into the middle from wide positions to attack / score
but hes not the right player to be the main striker
maybe in certain style of games similiar to welback where theres more chances to counter

looking at the team sheet we only have one out and out striker which is disappointing

Last week Arsenal decided that Welbezk needed surgery. It was successful, will return by Christmas. Aren't we glad we brought in a ST to fill the needed void...OH! Wait! :BRICK::HAND::BLEH:

Bring in USmanov already...stop the insanity.

Aw, not our Danny! Get well soon Dat Guy!

Also, there are no great strikers for sale. Trust me as a United fan. We decided to buy some random kid for the price you paid for Alexis Sanchez, just so all the jerseys with 9 on the back could be sold.

I wasn't too fussed about not signing a striker - although I joked about us literally not having a no.9

There aren't great CFs available. If Benzema, Zlatan or even Cavani couldn't be brought, then I don't see any other strikers that would be such an improvement over what we have.

Now with Welbeck's surgery to his left knee, we are short no doubt. I say give the lad Campbell some game time and maybe he would pull a Cocquelin.
Although he is a Second Striker really, who's better playing off the main striker. This is the kind of player marked for extinction in today's football when everybody's obsessed with 4-5-1.

All in all I'm fine with Wenger not spending now. Maybe he will have more money and the opportuny arises for a massive landmark signing ahead.

PS: if only Arsenal were serious and professional about that bid for bitey from Liverpool we would be set right now. A beast striker who doesn't struggle for fitness. And I reckon we would have landed him for £50m.

The sheer arrogance of Arsene is incredible... Over Welbezk . He has replaced ( last missed season's ) Theo and won't be back until next season or return by season end. Either way to say we did not find someone [to sign], we did not find them." so f-off is pretty much putting your head through the noose. Injuries are part of the game . He's probably thinking Sanogo could return and be a hit Ffs!

That is one wasteful attack, FFS!
Özil and Cazorla were superb creating chances though and all we need is more clinical finishing up front.
Welbeck, Giroud and Walcott are all wasteful to be honest. But I still stand by the decision of the manager not to bring a new striker, given the options that were available. If he got a Dzeko, who in my opinion is no better than Giroud, where would it leave our 16m pound signing Welbeck once he is fit? Plus, when you pay those crazy figures we see in the transfer market it has to be an improvement over what we have. No Benzema, Zlatan, Cavani or Suarez for us to bring? Then we're better off keeping what we have and boosting their confidence.
Either that, or buy a Martial for bat shit crazy money? I'm against that.

We would get proper fucked only if something happened to Giroud and Walcott - touch wood on that - which would leave us really short.

EDIT: deleted my observation about the chart after reading "21st Century"

Dzeko isn't as good in the buildup, infact he's pretty shit at that, but much better than Giroud at finding the net

Could have gone for Jackson Martinez too.

Well, these Uefa referees... what else can we say? It's like there's a new all-time low every season. Just when you think it couldn't get any worse.

In a week when a player broke someone's leg and got away with it scot free, how on earth is this a sending off: http://www.footytube.com/video/porque-giroud-371190?ref=hp_tbox

When you see stuff like that you d have to wonder if someone in Zagreb snuck the ref a nice amount of cash to find a red card able offense wherever he could. I'd be massively pissed off about that too.
