Arsenal Thread

I'm not really sure Walcott will be fit enough to start the season. Maybe Sanchez will start on the right till Walcott is ready to start.

Im not sure Cavani is a fit for Arsenal. I know Sanchez can play on the wings ,but I`d love to see him up top.

Podi(LW)--Sanchez(ST)--Theo(RW)
---Cazorla(CM)--Ozil(CM)---
---------(CM)Ramsey-----
That would be insane, way to offensive. Ramsey should be free in midfield like last season and not a holding central midfielder. A player like Flamini or Khedira (if we sign him) need to play alongside Ramsey.

Sanchez will start on the right, no question. Walcott will then slowly be brought back into the fold whilst testing Alexis in another role perhaps.

this could be Awesome (First names as first choice at the moment);

Sanchez/Pod....Giroud/Remy......Walcott/OX

.............Ozil/Cazorla...............

................Ramsey/Wilshere/Rosicky..........

..............Khedira/Flamini/Arteta/Diaby (haha)

.............the usual defence............

Great options to fight on all fronts....but the defence still worries me if we get injuries. I think our first choice defence is strong, but a couple of injuries and we are fooked!

You can also mix the front players around, with Ozil or Cazorla playing in one of the forward roles, Sanchez as the main striker, also OX in Midfield etc.

There is alot of versatility which is great news.

Hopefully Ramsey continues from last season and I also expect Wilshere/OX to move up a level if they can stay injury free.

It is exciting, if we get Debuchy, Khedira and Remy (or another decent striker) then we are very strong going into next season (as long as the new signings bed in).

Also after winning the FA Cup and with at least 3 of our players being World cup winners, the team will have belief about them and will not be afraid in the big matches and actually turn up for them.

Famous last words :)

Where you got that from? I opened the store and it's still there. Btw. there are reports that Chelsea is now favorite to sign him.

The official store in Madrid:

Some great business being done by Arsene. Makes you wonder how different things could have been if he'd done that before the uber-spending of the past 6 years or so.

I think he was a tad unlucky but missed opportunities to strengthen when they only really needed 1 or two around 2006-2008 but didn't.

Wenger always seem to have that attitude of 'why buy when you have players so close to being the finish product'. In reality we see it (today) money wasn`t there to do the business.Last season £42m this summer £32m on a single player its crazy. I still believe there will be a surprise £40-50m purchase on a player before the window closes :)) Cavani ,Vidal, Di Maria...(Liverpool/Mutd/Arsenal?)

Debuchy finally confirmed.

Mesut Özil has donated his 600 thousand euro bonus from the World Cup to infant victims in Gaza. Pure class.

Good news about Debuchy, I think he will do well for us.

Nice from Ozil, lets hope that the victims actually get the money.

I keep hearing the stories aren't true , he paid for 12 operation to hospital( for kids). The sum on WC winning is far from the true. He's in LA atm spending some cheese :)

I heard there were 23 operations.
Some papers say it was touching for him to see a football kit with his name all covered in blood from a kid who got killed, and that it was that what motivated him to donate.

600k is an awful lot, even for footballers, but I somehow don't doubt it.

EDIT:
Apparently the Gaza donations aren't true. And Bobby is right - if he made such a donation, it would have been in real danger of not getting to the people who really needed.

What he did do is pay for the surgery of 23 sick children in Brazil - which is really admirable anyway.

Crazy week airline being shot down and trying to blame Russia . Gaza being turn to glass n such. It's really sad situation the reality we face and footballers wanting higher wages .... On football matters Wenger said he think 4-4-2 will be use a lot more , Sanchez best position will be through the middle , but he can play either flank until Theo will be up n running.

Leo Messi has confirmed reports leaked from earlier today. "Yes, if I leave, it will be only for Arsenal." #FCB #AFC

Ludicrous stuff. That's what a rather empty day during a transfer window does to the tiny minds at the likes of Daily Mail, Metro, etc.

Ospina is looking likely now.

We still don't know the real situation with Vermaelen, but if he leaves we might need 2 CB.
As it is, would be safe to sign one CB.

With that, the only thing left would be the fabled new DMF.

Wenger already said no more strikers are coming in. I think he means it. Let's hope this also means Joel Campbell will be given a chance.

I personally don't see a young man having fun and drinking etc on his holiday as being a problem?

You would probably find 80% of players his age doing the same thing this summer.

We only see a glimpse in the open . Can you imagine behind close doors . I get it , he wants to have fun .... Sanchez is focusing on getting a job done and imo that's the difference btw wanting and doing. I remember Vela n Cesc on holiday in Vegas they were rock climbing :) Özil is in Hollywood n Vegas , but didn't see him on the front page. Podi is in Poland riding a horse no front page. I could make a list of Arsenal players n their holidays having fun. I'm just saying Bendtner n Jack aren't focus n surround themselves w/ rot . Bendtner is worse he does it alone lol ( no entourage ).

I'm no slamming Jackie boy , I'm just pointing out the obvious . I think preparation goes a long way.

Well this wasn't in the open. Photgraphers caught him while in private. All the activities you posted were posted on social media by the players themselves.

Besides, I'm sure it's only water he's catching with his mouth there. :SMUG:
