Arsenal Thread

Pipa we know what you think a manager n club should do...clearly! Wenger comes from I didnt see it . to I see it and still pundit complains..everyone knows they can manage better than Wenger. I know his best days are gone from the invisible era. How many mangers left a club in ruines. Arsenal havent been in Europa or worst not in Europe at all. So, give Wenger to the end at least to call him washed up. Most managers could never indure a new stadium and stay in Europe!

i believe it's a good idea not to put too much pressure on the team..... besides, after such a debacle, the players won't need any motivation boost at all for the 2nd leg... after such a terrible display they will certainly be already fired up (wich makes wenger's statements even more appropriate).

no I am not having a go at him, view am just proving to others that he did say that

You didn't have a go at him? what was this post about? (Below) it didn't sound to positive and I think it qualifies for a post having a go at Wenger?

Wenger has already given up on the return leg by the way so you get an impression that Wenger gives up quite easily and that is NOT A GOOD role to show for your players.

You will never see Fergie give up even if his team are 6:0 down.

You never know with this Arsenal team, you could kick all their asses and they would still find a way to lose the match next weekend. I hope Arsene's tirade worked:

Arsène Wenger stuns Arsenal squad with furious training-ground tirade

Arsène Wenger unleashed a tirade at his Arsenal players on Thursday which startled some of them in its severity, as he sought to refocus minds following the club's Champions League humiliation at Milan.

The manager bolted shut the doors of the dressing room at the training ground before the squad's warm-down session to turn the air blue. Having repeatedly employed the carrot, this represented the use of a large stick and the players could not remember seeing him so incensed.

That's it for us lads. Trophyless season mode ON once again in mid-February.

We can point to that clear penalty that mug Howard Webb didn't give, but let's have a look at ourselves...
That's one bunch of spineless players we've got there, I gotta tell you. No sense of urgency at all.

Only Song seemed to care at some point. Even RvP seemed to have given up.

Wenger once again had a shocker with his substitutions. Let's face it, if you want to turn a game around, do you put Walcott and Rosicky on? Really?!?

Rosicky is really an innocuous player. Completely half-hearted and ineffective. And I hate that little turn he does. What a farse!

Walcott once again, what a joke. 100k a week? You're having a laugh mate! He should be sent to Blackburn, the little prick. Let's trade him in for Yakubu.

Have to agree with everything Dennis Bergkamp has to say in this interview: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ays-Dennis-Bergkamp-ahead-of-Milan-clash.html

Most of our players are too much similar, even when it comes to being gutless, not having any desire. Oh well.

this team is full off 3 type of players.

1. Youngsters who in all reality have or had promise but are going to ammount to nothing special.

2. Players who are now over the hill. Arshavin, rosicky etc...arteta?

3. bunch of average players or players who just underperform, Gervinho, Chamackh, Park?,

maybe we should keep 5-6 players and sell the whole squad ha

You know what's heart breaking is seeing the Ox gutted in the end for scoring an own goal, while some senior players lost today looking like they didn't give a fuck.

Also I don't get Wenger's tactics and never will, if you wanna score goals, use your damned Centre Forwards FFS! Do you expect RvP to poke them all in? Why the hell did we ever buy Chamakh and Park anyway, if you're never gonna use them?
We really have to clear the decks, as AW allocated money badly spent, clearly.

Today most players had a dismal performance. Gervinho was ridiculous, it's as if he wasn't even there. Ox was thrown in the fire, when we had senior players to count on. Walcott was as good as a fucking cone. Rosicky is useless, Arteta was shaky, Sagna hesitant and not confident...
And with the early injury to Coq, we had Squil and Djourou (who was even more nervous than Squilla). Both in the centre is an accident just waiting to happen.

The only ones who seemed to care were Vermaelen, RvP and Song.
We've been embarrassed again, fellas.

Merci por tout, but I think time's up for you monsieur Wenger.

i hope you guys sort things and qualify for CL with us of course.. i much rather see your football in CL than Chelseas... but currently i feel for you in this situation..

or maybe just play a system that works? TBH all the passing back is really disturbing . This system 4-3-3 looks to be very unbalance for the current squad.

Wenger just doesn't understand that if you lose players like Cesc,Nasri you cant expect that if you replace them with descent players that the old system will work non of our players(Arteta,Ramsey,Rosicky)have the vision Cesc had!

Walcott should be sent out on loan or sold to restart his development although i realy like this player one of my fav!
Gervinho i think he is a very good player just this wasnt his night, and his understanding with RvP is realy great already in the first season!

And again injuries, injuries, injuries can you imagine Arsenal without injuries well not in this world! Someone has put a spell on our medical staff!

The irony is RVP aitn even a striker, hes a support striker and we should have a poacher/goalscorer/target man beyond him right up front. He should be playing slightly deeper. He can create chances and score long rangers....We really should have two up front.

I guess Chamackh and Park are just shocking in trianing or whatever as they are not considered.

Obviously we cant get but a player like Drogba with RVP would be better. Or just even Ian Wright type player with RVP slightly behind him.

Then out wide we can have a choice Arshavin/Walcott/OX/Gervinho as wide attacking midfilers supposrted by full backs.

With say a defenseive minded midefieler alongside a more creative one eg SOng+arteta or whatever.

PRoblem is we have no consistenet midfeild partnership

think viera+petit.

We have Wishire, Ramsey, Song, Arteta, Rosicky, Diaby, Benayoun. We dont have an ideal set 2 or any that consistently play or work well together. Its like a pick and mix, who will we play today? mmm lets see what we pull out the hat!!

I agree! I have always wanted to see Chamakh up front RvP behind him!And i am furious that Wenger have never tried that even in not so important games!

is Chamakh even still alive? Not seen him for a long time :CONFUSE:

Also why even buy Park? lol if u aint gonna play Chamackh then buy a player like him but prob not even as good its just crazy

I'm quite confident we have Spurs, Liverpool, Milan and then Newcastle I think in the next 4 games, I think we can keep 4th spot and reach the next stage of the Champions League :BY: :WOOT:

mate i think both Chamakh and Park are decent, the thing is they never play..

i saw Park for Korea and some Monaco matches in past and he was best player on pitch.. Chamakh the same for Bordeaux.. and i think he playes for Morocco, but that match he didn´t, not sure..

maybe it was a stunt double?

And where is Park..did we buy him so we can increase our S.Korean fan base?

how about we sell Chamackh+Park and buy someone decent!

We would have to get rid of 70% of the team IMO.
But it's just so difficult to shift our dead wood!
AW's policy has been consistently rewarding mediocrity season after season. That's why we couldn't find suiters for Denilson and Bendtner - even though they never truly proved themselves, they got big fat contracts. Nobody's willing to pay for their salary.
Look at Vela, on his 34th loan spell!
Also guys like Diaby costs the club 70k a week and are not even playing! Basically just occupying space in the squad. When a guy like Modric is making less than that.
In times of financial constraint, paying stadium debt and financially doped rivals, we are not exactly helping ourselves, are we?
I think Wenger has allocated loads of money where we aren't likely to see any returns.

The salary we pay all those guys + Chamakh and Park (cause we never use them) is money down the drain.

And I'm not sure AW is learning with his mistakes - apparently we've just renewed Djourou's contract? After what we've seen against Milan and Sunderland, that's a big facepalm moment.

Well true they are good players but why is Wenger feared to play them he obv dont rate them?

Chamack has had his moments and shown he can do it b4. ANd Park defo at Monaco and for Korea!

I dont get it, this 4-3-3 2 wingers+RVP just aint the way forward surely Aw can see that.

Solid 4-4-2 is what we need. RVp+ other striker+ 2 wide attackers is much more threat to opponent than RVp+ 2 wingers.

Just for some nuance: We didn't pay anything for Chamakh, remember this. He came for free and for the first part he was great. Frankly, I wouldn't be so happy to give him away, I still think he still can be good. He's an arial player, but our best crosses are for the fans... I'm not saying he wasn't poor for over an year, because he was a memory.
I agree we have alot of dead wood.
It's going harder and harder for us and we're not doing nothing to help ourselves.

Good one Bobby, you've finally lost it... :D just joking don't take it seriously. To be honest I don't quite care about us going out of the Champs League, more about how we're doing it. The most important thing for us is 4th spot this year.

It is interesting because as much as we like to blame Wenger, and for alot of things rightly so, the board needs to take initiative and prove their not just names on paper. Also Kroenke, after the board lockdown.

There's a romanian saying: In the 13th hour (already too late, but better than never), but that's been last summer, this year/summer is 14th hour.

Frimpong needs to shut the fuck up. Him, the squad, wenger and the coach are a disgrace to our club!

Diddnt even turn up for AC Milan and same for the fa cup. that is totaly unacceptable. they get paid 60-90k per week and only play twice a week for 90mins whilst all of us here work 10x more then they do per week and dont even earn as much as they do a day, per year!!

All we ask for them is to turn up every match and "try" but they dont and that is unacceptable.

@Bobby. will u still back wenger if we dont make top 4?

Frimpong was at Wolves and now is injured, so I don't know if it is his fault. Piers Morgan is a grade A Dick aswell, so I am glad Frimpong had a go at him.

The AC Milan game was a shambles that is right.

The FA cup game I think they did turn up for and players did show commitment, but we just didn't play well enough to score the goals. We were the better team, not much better but statistics wide we were better, more possession, more shots and on target, just did not have the oomph to go that bit extra.

Sunderland are probably one of the most in form teams at the moment and we were away and they are a Premier league side. I think people forget that.

Anyway our team just isn't good enough at the moment, we need better players and we need to get rid of some players, that is evident.

I will see how we play upto the end of the season and see what happens, as you know by now I am not like you Jonney, I take alot of factors into why Wenger should leave if he does. I don't just base Arsenal on silverware or positions.

If we play crap and it looks like the players are not playing for Wenger, then of course he has to go. If we fight for the rest of the season and just miss out on 4th, then I won't want him to go. Lots to consider.

I hope we get 4th and Wenger replaces some players and brings in some more quality players and stays in the summer.

But I also believe if we get beaten by Spurs at the weekend, which is a likely scenario, then alot of Arsenal fans will be calling for Wenger to leave, which will be sad.

It's not a pleasant time at the moment and is very depressing. I think if things don't improve then Wenger will be gone, which I don't think will really help Arsenal and I think we will get shitter.

I really hope I am wrong and a new manager will do well, I am praying. Because at the moment their are alot of vocal fans who have lost faith in Wenger and that will subsequently be his downfall.

But I hope he stays still :))

whoa! now, Fabregas n Nasri are fans...last week Nasri he agreed to this statement " once a gunner always a gunner." interesting eh?

I wish our wage bill fit` those worthy RVP 70k a week best striker in the Premier imo and he`s not even a striker

I don't get this guy. Didn't he beg to move away from Arsenal? Fabregas is the same but at least Cesc had the excuse of leaving to his home club.

Nasri would have been the main start at arsenal had he stayed.
