Arsenal Thread

He really is a little shit.

and the more so because he is not "your" litle shit. The moment he gets transferred to your favourite club (i'm not aiming you or your club specific), he ceases to be a litle shit.
The moment he scores the deciding goal in the WC final 2014, he is a hero (again).

This is not meant to be offensive and i'm the first to agree that all those young litle prodigies earn way too much money and should get some sort of guidance by their clubs.

BUT....

The last years (and certainly in Brittain) i've seen dozens of similar stories. I'm not saying that Wilshere is not guilty, i'm not saying the girl is exagerating...but it happens quite frequently that football players are used by money hungry girls/women too.

If Wilshere is guilty though, he should get a very exemplary sentence...and yes then he is a litle shit, no matter for what club he plays.

Rant over...and once again: this isn't personal matherto.

Exactly the kind of personality they need more of though. Back in the days of the "Invincibles", they were almost all cunts.

Thats the problem we dont keep our best players!!!

If players want to go to bigger clubs then there is not much we can do about it, apart from win the champions league 6 times etc and become a huge club.

If players want to earn 100s thousands more a week, then we can't stop them either as we can't afford to pay them that much in wages.

So it is all well and good blaming Arsene/Arsenal, but what can they do with these players?

No suprise...
Thats the way English footballers are ... most of them!!!
The main reason i think is money and popularity those things make them arrogant!!

EDIT:
I just had and crazy idea if Fabregas leaves why shouldn't we go for Kaka he is unsettled in Real and would fill in Fab's spot. Why not to splash the cash on him!.....Oh yeah the reason why not is Wenger and his head!I think he would do well in Arsenal!!

Bit of a sweeping generalisation that most English players are like this, wotk out how many English players are playing English football at the moment and then get all of the press cuttings of the ones that fall into the shitty category and I bet it is a small percentage of English players.

Also people think if we had 100 million we can get all of these players! you don't seem to realise that even if we had the money, would these players want to come to us? would Kaka want to come to us? when we can't pay him as much as much bigger clubs that would take him?

There is so much to take into account when buying players, it sounds like most people think if Wenger was willing to spend we would have all of the greatest players in the world at Arsenal

Buying players is long and complicated, especially when you are not the Man Uniteds, Barcelona's, Real Madrids. Or especially if you have not been bought by somebody who throws 100's of millions of pounds around.

Clichy to City for £7m is good business imo, for Arsenal I mean. Never really rated him tbh, Gibbs is pretty good too.

Speaking of City, apparently they're going to do their usual game of doubling our bid and taking Nasri.

Not sure why they want him, he's essentially another Silva. But hey, they can afford it.

Where would you rather he went if he leaves, out of interest?

If what Nasri seeks is money, then City would be the right place. I'd rather if he went overseas instead, to be honest. To Barcelona, although this isn't happening. All I care is that Arsenal at least recovers what was spent on him.

As for Kaka, well, he's not the same now, is he? I really like him, but Arsenal don't need even more injury prone players. One good thing, though, is that he has more integrity than most footballers. He's not after money only, otherwise he would've gone to Citeh 2 years ago. Oh, and he did say at some point that he'd like to play in England.

Wilshire looks like a nasty piece of shit judging by the news, but hey, we need more cunts! We should go for Van Bommel and, who knows, Barton, to put out a couple Montecristos No. 5's on Shawcross. :P

careless where clichy goes just want the highest bidder. Nasri to city in a heart beat just to show the world what he aims for. Me too rather he go abroad.

Well, Fabregas n Nasri couldnt bring us a trophy , last time we had a trophy we had steel in the middle of the park. Passing abilities is not enough to do the business. Toure was the player we needed ,but hey ! he is amazing at City they reached their goal too. I agree w/ ya we need a proper cunt in the middle to break up plays n able to score as well.

Yeah Clichy has gone down in my estimations over the last couple of years. I wont be sad to let him go, I do wish he would go abroad though, I hate having players playing for other prem teams.

I do think he can be really good, if he sorts himself out though, but I just think he needs another team. It was like he was growing lazy with us and unmotivated.

Unless your close to signing a LB it seems another one to add to that list above (Fabregas and Nasri might be on it soon also!).

The Verminator should be a superb LB. He has a lot of quality going forward, remember his full season 09/10. Plus, he's quick and very physical, it's like having a CB playing wide with mobility.
That is, of course, IF he stays fit, IF Djourou stays fit, IF Cahil or Samba sign.

Clichy should go to Roma, wasn't that likely to happen? I'd say Riise's days are numbered there, too many silly mistakes last season. Oh no wait, that's why they must have given up on Clichy... :FAIL:

bebo, you mention Toure. Man, I hate to remember the fact he didn't pass the tests at Arsenal, such a gem! To think he could have been our player for free...

Partly agree!!
But why not to risk and spend little bit more money on world class players who knows maybee after a year or two it will pay off.
Besides we all know that Wenger does't spend all off their transfer budget! And it have been like that about last 2-3 seasons!

I agree with you, but how many world class players will want to come to us?

If we were to get just solid players that work for the team and good back up players that actually want to play for us, then I think we will be in a much better position.

Players like Gervinho are good examples of those sort of players and hopefully we will get him.

I've seen Gervinho regularly with Beveren and Lille.
It would not be the first time that i'm completely wrong, bu i'm not sure he is good enough to be a strong holder for Arsenal...a good squad player, yes... a regular first team player? Maybe. A strong holder: i don't think so...but to put this in perspective: i had also doubts about Vermaelen.

Concerning Vermaelen: he plays LB in our national team. Trust me, he is much better as a CB.

I think he'd be first choice on the right wing of their 4-2-3-1. He'd be a better choice than Walcott, Arshavin, Bendtner, Rosicky etc. Even Nasri, who looks better in the centre or on the left.

Not really, because lots of people are saying we need to buy world class players :PP
Do you think you'd need a world class replacement for Fabregas? Given how well stocked you lot are in midfield, a wise thing would be to give Nasri that central role he thrived in at the start of last season or even move Wilshere up into that role (wasn't that his original role in the reserve/youth sides) and then buy someone like M'Vila to beef up the midfield.

Even if Fab stays, I think buying an improvement on Song would be a good idea. You could then shift Song down the pecking order, improving your strength in depth and maybe ship out the likes of Denilson, Rosicky and Arshavin who seem surplus to requirements.

Sorry for going all FM on ya. :P

I don't necessarily think we need world class to replace Fab, if the rest of the players are good and can play as a team and be stronger in defence, then I think we will be fine.

I agree that players we have can move about and we are definately getting more players in and getting rid of a few, so it is hard to say where we stand at the moment...especially if Fab and Nasri leave, but I will let everybody else panic on that one. I will panic when the season starts :))

Great, it looks like Chelsea are after Gary Cahill now

Sounds like City are going to get Nasri and Clichy aswell.

I wonder what we are going to do? it's all very exciting :))

Sucks. We really need a LM and Nasri would've been just what I wanted at Milan. Would hate to see him at City. I thought the Marseille connection with Taiwo and Flamini would've helped.

Ade, Toure ,Clichy and Nasri any predictions?

Future:

Toure = Banned
Ade = Club jumping...looking for another club
Clichy = loaned out
Nasri = fighting other players

Arsenal :

Toure £15m
Ade £24m
Clichy £7m
Nasri £20m
------------
total £66m `09 -`11 good business!

I really do think it will be bad moves for both Nasri and Clichy if they go to city footballing wise.

I think eventually they will both hardley get games, not because they will be particularly shit, but because they won't be as good as people think and City will buy bigger names players.

A players motivation goes somewhat when they are just thinking about money and when they get it, it is even worse. I think it is like a cancer really, when players just chase money, they end up losing a part of themselves.

Adebayor will always be a good player, but he could have been great if he had the right mindset. Sadly he will always think he is not appreciated and think he is alot better than he is, so he will never reach the hights he could have got to. He may win things, but I doubt he will be a key player for a team and fans will not love him.
