Arsenal Thread

Well until wenger buys some big players with experience who can change matches with their influence on the picth. Thye are going to be struggling for along time. I said it before wenger is relying too much on young talent and transfer gambles who he is hoping are a success instead of expecting them to be success. Diaby and Fabregas would work well togther, but they are very young players and in the big games, they will come short.

Well that was said about the Utd side of 95-96, Alan Hansen actually said "you don't win anything with kids". Utd did the double that season!

I am of the opinion that if you are good enough then you are old enough, if they don't play how are they going to get experience?? I accept dropping Pires and Gilberto means the balance of the side is out but needs must.

I don't accept that it will take a long time. How long is a piece of string? They will get better with each passing game and the experience will only be good for them.

Remember last season when Henry missed, almost half the season. They were young and manage good, despite that chelski and manyoo were both stronger last year in my opinion.Henry is trying to perform he lacks a partner.Adebayor just came in,Pires trying but not work out

its nothing to do with henry, it was losing paddy that has fucked you's up, dont get me wrong when henry goes it will be a huge blow but if you's had paddy you would not be in this position...

Henry won`t leave,No fans or club will love Henry like Aresenal, and besides paddy didn`t leave,we mistakenly dropped him.We broke his heart and we learn our lesson and Henry knows it...Good pictures Of stadium, way to bring a smile on a :( day

When it actually happens we will accept it. We need to see where we end up in the league, how far we get in the champions league and who we plan on buying in the summer.

But I admit it doesn't look very good and I wouldn't blame him for leaving. Although I pray to god he doesn't go! especially if he leaves for anything under 30million, I will be devestated.

Why can't he sign a new contract, so if he does leave in the summer we can get the top money for him. If he goes at a cut price, that will be a kick in the teeth for us.

But for now he is with us, he is idolised by Arsenal Fans - he is the Captain and it looks like next year we will be in one of the best stadiums in the world. So I will have hope until I hear the news that he is either definately staying or going.

Yes you can, he let in a goal. ;)

he doesnt seem to be doing alot to get arsenal out of this situation, he could sign the contract (the biggest in the clubs history) and lift the whole club during this bad time....

and yet he blatantly doesnt want to...

of course there will be life after henry, but IMO the manager is now as much of a problem as this henry contract....

The problem with signing a contract is that once he signs it, Arsene can just refuse to sell him and Henry would be forced to stay at Arsenal against his wish for another x amount of years.

By not signing a contract, the ball is in Henry's court.

He doesn't want to and I can't blame him. These should be the optimum years of his life as a footballer. He is one of the best strikers in the world and should be playing in the champions league every season.

He has some of the best clubs in the world after him - he could play with Ronaldinho or Reyes? I know who I would rather play with!

I do think that if he goes for 10million or something that wouldn't be nice.

at least if we get 30mill or so we have money to buy a couple of top draw players to replace him.

I like Lehmann, I think he is a very good keeper. He has done extremely well in our team considering our defence.

He gets alot of bad press, but he is a great keeper. Remember he was our keeper for our unbeaten season - so he can't be that bad!!

umm yeah and Tim Howard was premieship keeper of the year in his first year, look at him now...

Lehmann is a good keeper. He indeed suffers from bad press cuz he does stupid things on the pitch, like randomly coming out of his box to push someone or intimidate referee.

Arsene Wenger is really deluded as some of the fans here. He camly claims his team gave it their all last night and thinks they deserved a draw. It was the most one sided match i seen in a long time. And if thats giving it your all then real madrid must be rubbing their hands with glee like micheal owens old celebration(anyone got a pic?).

wengers post match comments lost credibilty along time ago....

I think most other managers in his current situation would have been sacked already...

Well most managers would admit their side wasnt good enough and needs to improve and then identify where his side went wrong in the match. But Mr Wenger acts dignified by his teams performance last night as if they done all they could of asked from him

when a manager loses faith in his squad, what things happen.....
1. betrayed by boss(like your father disowening you)

2. what manager admits defeat of his own (not Mourinho,Benitez????)

so the day wenger does, you have better chances of BinLaden turn himself in

Arsenal played badly but give credit were credit is due, Liverpool dominated the game and made it very difficult. Xabi taught Cesc a few lessons in the middle of the park and I can't remember a team coming to Anfield this season and playing better than us (maybe Chav$ki) so don't be so hard on your selves gooners. I personally would like to see Henry stay in the Prem but deep down I'm sure Arsenal fans know that if they get knocked out of the CL and don't qualify for it next season then the captaincy and a new stadium just isn't enough to keep a player of Henrys calibre. I mean just look at what a beautiful stadium the Nou Camp is and who wouldn't want to play alongside Ronaldinho, E'too, Messi, Deco etc.

How is saying a performance wasnt good enough betraying the players or like a father would his own son? So if a kid does wrong and disgraces himself, you expect the father to pat him on the back and say he done all he could do in the situation? Btw Mouringo actually admitted his side deserved to lose against middlesborough at the weekend. And also reacted angrily towards his players for losing in that fashion.

At least he talks to the media post match, unlike someone I could mention!! ;)

Gooners....Do you thing Wenger feels duked by R.Madrid?I feel he sold (paddy)to get 1st.Robinho,then 2nd.Julio B. and got None!but a weaken mid.I know this is apart of football.By senior players comments....I can`t imagine us being in this situation. Its not injuries....and i can`t imagine, one man leaving is bigger then any club.So give me your input `cause Im seeing x-president clinton telling us he didn`t have sex w/ that lady,if you get my drift...(no! it`s not the new stadium)please!don`t reply if you don`t understand my grammar

How on earth can you say Van Der Sar is in better form, he has let in some very weak goals lately! Just cause they haven't cost you points doesn't mean he isn't off form.

Your very own pisshead, Sir Alex Ferguson! He doesn't speak to the BBC at all post match, he sends Carlos Queerbloke to speak for him.

Cuz they fucked him off asking him dumb ass irrelevent questions. You dont waste a Knight's time. He still speaks to sky sports

Thats just crazy talk!! That would be the harshest sacking of all time!

We are having a bad season - Man utd didnt win anything last season - Ferguson didn't get sacked!

Wenger is more than just a manager to us, he has helped the club progress and evolve. We have to take the rough with the smooth, at the moment it is very rough but I am sure next season will be alot smoother.
