Arsenal Thread

We're still in the FA Cup, in the League Cup final, sit in 2nd in the league, have bought in 2 good players in the winter. What do you have that you can boast about? A European competition that you realistically have no chance of winning? Compared to the Gunners, I think we're in a good enough position to be putting you down.

Theres no point in changing the subject by talking about how good Chelsea are and how we arent the team we used to be. The fact is that you'd rather be in our position than your own.

meh, i dunno, what with CL being the biggest earner and having two massive games with real is hard to turn down for a league cup final. you've a long way to in the fa cup yet and liverpool are more than capable of beating you. we still have time in the league and i'm sure we'll do it. you don't exactly look a dead cert for second yet so don't be getting too cocky just yet.

Debatable to say the least. Your 2nd position is artificial as Liverpool have 2 games in hand and are in much better form than you. You've spunked loads and loads of money and the end result is a league cup final. 2 great signings? Yeah, Evra did really well on his Manc derby debut. Meanwhile, Real have replaced Man Yoo as the world's most successful club in financial terms and Chelsea are the new Glory hunter's team of choice (ask John Obi Mikel). "Oh... but hey... at least we're a couple of league places higher than Arsenal!" Congrats :applause:

All of this bickering however is irrelevant. You laughing at us is like the midget calling the dwarf short. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, that's all I'm saying.

There you go again. You compare us to teams other than Arsenal to put us down. You dont have the right to do that if you're sticking up for the Gunners. You can say what you did to every other team except Chelsea and it would mean the same thing. Whats the point? I'm only talking about how WE compare to YOU. And its a fact that we're in a much better position.

People go on about our defence, but looking at goals conceded we are third in the league - we have let in sixteen goals behind liverpool and chelsea both havin 12 against. Tottenham have 19 and Man U 20.
and our goal difference is both better than Liverpool and Tottenham.

I know we are still 5th but our defensive record is not that bad - just we have let in silly crucial goals!!

And in the FA cup we had Bolton Away and Man U had Wolves at home. There is a big difference there!

And we have more chance of winning the Champions league than Man U - Because we are still in it!! and how can anybody say we have no chance of winning the Champions league after Liverpool and Porto winning it! and Greece winning the Euro Championship - Anything can happen!!

Anyway i have said it before and I will say it again, Get out of our forum you Man U Scum!!

I said REALISTICALLY you wont win it. Realisitcally Liverpool werent gonna win it either. But if you want to to talk about how anything can happen, lets not rule out that you'll probably be in the UEFA Cup next season.

You missed the point entirely. Read the end of that post again.

I'm not looking to put anyone down but if you are gonna throw mud expect to get muddy. I'm saying, it's a bit rich for you lot to come and have a go when things are far from rosy at OT. We are a few league positions lower than you, that's it. If you were top of the league or in the Champions League final stages then you would have a leg to stand on, but you're not, so you don't.

Why will we be in the Uefa Cup? we are 4 points behind 4th place Tottenham and we still have a game in hand. and seeing as we still have 3-4 months of football left - you are talking out of your arse!!

What do you mean "far from rosy"? We're improving every game while your month seems to get worse by the day. We can see light at the end of the tunnel, you my friend havent even reached the tunnel yet.
For the first time in 2-3 years, I'm starting to see some real improvement. The manager is listening to the fans a lot more now, we're starting to go on a run, and this is without so many key players. We also have 2 midfielders that we're looking to sign in the summer too. So if you're looking at this season alone, then yeah things could be a lot better,...even though we're still in the FA Cup and League Cup final  . But if you look at the big picture, as long as we get our signings and are injury free, I'm expecting us to be as consistant as Chelsea next year.
So things ARE looking rosy since unlike you, we're looking like we're gonna improve on our trophy less last season.

Thats like saying we'll win the league cuz there are lots of points still to be played for.

Of course unlike us, because we won the Fa Cup last season!

No its not, its like saying we are 4 points away from 4th spot with a game in hand!! 4points is a lot different to 25 points -

Your arguments are feeble!!!

At least if we don't win anything this season we can say:

'Our pitch is better than yours!'

It is a thing of beauty and it looks like it will continue into the new stadium. Hooray!!

fook that was unexpected I know Theo came in but I thought this kid was supposed to be special? im surprised it wasnt just a loan.

The dude at blackburn is also gone.

Damn Quincy, very bad move for him, I cant see any good for him going to Russia. Just look at Maniche, signed for the money, but wanted out quickly.
But since u guys just signed Adebayor and Walcott, i understand he wants a move, wouldnt get any playing time, but he should've went to a Prem. club or something. I predict he 'll be back in England or Holland in the summer, probably be very lonely and cold in Russia...

i really liked Quincy when i first saw him play, but he has been very disappionting when i've seen him this season so i'm not too surprised.

You're completely missing the point. The fact is that those games havent happened and you're already assuming that you'll win that game in hand when by looking at your current form, every game needs to be played like its your last.

I think this is a clear sign of you lot signing too many younger players. If this continues, your senior players will be leaving too.

speaking of money "arsenal, often accused of parsimony in the transfer market, have committed £22 million to securing new players in a week"

I dont think man u has spent nearly half that much in the january transfer market.... so not sure what your on about son....

Please, are you serious? Put Walcott, Adebayor and Diaby together and you're still £8m short of the £30m you payed for Rio.

Joystick, whats the point in arguing? They support Utd so they must be right. Save your breath mate.

Tonights game is even more important now that Spurs dropped points last night

We have to win our home games because after this, only 1 of next 5 games is at home (and thats Bolton!) so we need to take the 3 points to keep pressure on the Spuds.

I would even go as far to say tonight is our biggest home match of the season so far, COME ON!

Living in Essex also makes this game massive for me as I will be watching it with quite a few hammers.

They are pretty dillusional as well with a prediction of a 4-3 West Ham win, 3 for Ashton and the winner from Teddy

We have to win games like these - although the Hammers are doing really well, we have to show the Premiership what we are about again and this is the perfect oportunity to do so.

especially as Tottenham slipped up, if we win this we will be 1 point behind with a game in hand.

We have to beat Birmingham (if we don't, then it will be a massive blow!)

but the Bolton game at home next sat is crucial! as they are breathing down our necks with a game in hand!

I predict a 3-0 scoreline to us tonight - I feel it in me bones!
