Arsenal Thread

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

And you still aint played Liverpool, who are in a better form than Chelsea.... :)

And yes we crumbled after one defeat in the past but this isn't the past...

and that defeat has come and we still beat Aston Villa away one game after... (without penalties or Villa players being sent off).

And this is my opinion too

edit: yet again.... nobody scored... just Ronaldo. I speak the truth my friend... at this stage Man U is Ronaldo dependant!
:lmao::lmao: i knew when Ronnie scored today you where gonna bring that up, cmon we have arguably the best player in the world :) btw you only got a draw v Liverpool and if you think that "loss" v Sevilla was it your totally wrong its bound to come sooner or later just hope it doesnt do as much damage as it did last time ;)

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Our game in hand tonight lads.

Never easy going to Newcastle especially when most of our first choice midfield is not going to play because of injuries.

We really need to win this and the Boro game as Chelsea and Spurs are next and In all possibility we may lose some points - hopefully not!

Come on Arsenal - lets keep our unbeaten league run going with a win :)

When we had Henry at his peak people said we were a one man team because he was playing like the worlds best player. Get over it, it comes with the territory.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

A draw was a fair result, well done to Newcastle for being the first team to stop us playing in the league! :applause:

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

too bad they didn't play like this against Liverpool or Portsmouth...

and that was a very smart referee, helping the north side of the cause.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

It was always gonna be difficult - they have ex Man U players like Smith and Butt wanting to do well against us aswell.

We also had 3 of our 1st choice midfield out and one of our main strikers.

We need to do alot better against Middlesborough and also really need to beat Chelsea and Spurs!! its gonna be a tough old xmas.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

We missed the bite in the middle of the park that Flamini brings, but i though Diarra played really well.

Still 4 points the gap, but we must really see this as 2 dropped points due to this being our game in hand.

Still unbeaten, but much more needed for the next 3 games.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

4 points is still a comfortable margin. And its good that you're having problems when key players are missing cuz you have something to look forward to when they come back. Its a lot harder to take in when you have your full strength team out and you still drop points. You're still looking like the favourites to lift the trophy anyway and you're undefeated so far too.
But then again, its funny how people can easily forget that Liverpool are also unbeaten this season. On the surface, it looks like you're unbeatable but the truth is, it doesnt matter.

I dont really know where I'm going with this...

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

I'm still angry about that foul on Adebayor in the last minute... it was blatant...

But I'm not going there...

Wenger needs to teach some players when to pass the ball.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Well you dropped 2 points but Newcastle where really good apart from the 4th minute in which they fell asleep and Adebayor punished em, still 4 points you got a some tough games coming up, hope we could cut that lead even more for the beginning of the new year

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

*looks up*
How come you don't have a European Cup in that trophy cabinet up there?

Well to be fair to Arsenal Henry thought it would be better to win it at Barca as he scuffed atleast 3 one on ones :) and then blamed it on the ref

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

No it ain't he only missed 1 one-on-one ;) The one in the 2nd half that would have made it 2-0, thats when we lost the match. :(

Sorry mate, it was a long time ago, and i have terrible memories of screaming at Henry when he was 1 on 1. :(

Being locked out my room by my Mrs' when i blamed her for the defeat was one of them! ;)

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

I had a go at my wife as before she came into the pub we were winning.

Literally when she walked in they scored and it went down hill - I blamed her completely for it :)

LOL @ Iceman and BobbyBox. Blaming an Arsenal defeat on the wife\partner is perfectly acceptable!

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

I know what I wanted to say earlier....a couple of my mates have been moaning that Adebayor or even Eduardo should have hoofed it into touch prior their goal last night. But this is wrong, surely we can't fall over ourselves about the beauty of our play one minute and then criticise when we don't hoof it the next. If Taylor had missed it would have been forgotten.

We only know how to play one way and at times it can be risky (see last night) but I would rather we did it like this than suffer the type of football that Bolton and now Newcastle are serving up.
