Arsenal Thread

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

way to go ARSENAL!ARSENAL!ARSENAL!,The way we are playing now, any team which comes to the emirates have to play 90min(in Man U's case 93 mins) of their life's best football to hope to scratch points off us.

I feel this season is ours because of the way we played, passing and probing for leaks in oppositions defence. show's the maturity that we have now, where as we would have panicked a season or two ago. These 3 points might prove crucial specially with united's defeat at Bolton.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

I still think Arsenal can win the title - on peformances so far Arsenal deserve it. How will the African Cup Of Nations effect you goons though? Someone told me that you won't miss Toure and Adebayor - I disagree personally.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

We surely won't miss Adebayor as Togo didn't qualify. ;)

At the moment I don't see Eboué as a very important player to us, just a reserve. But Touré will clearly be missed, I can't remember who can play on that spot (Senderos?).

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

This is why we need a CB in the summer .....Now, Toure out (ACN) and if Gallas get injured not sure or how long Silva and Senderos can hold the fort up. I wonder where we stand w/ Davis(WBU) I know we try to get him but since he`s English there asking 10 - 12 mil

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Djourou is coming back with first team exp, we can hope Senderos can regain his UCL form from 2 yrs ago, or we can slide Sagna into Toure's spot and play Diarra at rb... they're all pretty good options, but it won't replace Toure...

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

i think playing sagna as a CB is not that good an idea right now,why tinker with something that is working so well, his runs on the right and his crosses are terrific.with Senderos in the back you are never feel secure, Djourou coming back after the transfer window will be good choice though....

I prefer Senderos to Djourou - if were not playing against Drogba :)

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Seville tonight - hopefully we can get top of the group. A few big players rested so we will see how we fair.

Seville are very good at home though - so lets wait and see.

Come on Arsenal!!!

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

just knowing how hard we had to work just to qualify and now to the next round it seems we had played so many games ...please no injuries [-o<

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

senderos just don`t cut it for me...he`s never recovered from drogba's back pocket syndrome.

maybe AW needs to spend some of the extra kiddy in the volt all respect to Seville FC they play very good football :applause:

wake-up call for those who wanted a chance to perform

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Please dont take any offense in this banter, its just in response to the pic of Anelka posted in the United thread the other day

THE FORMER SPUD :

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

had to come one day... the first defeat.

Chin up and let's bounce back against Aston Villa.

It was a good effort, but with the Carling Cup team playing we couldn't have done much better...

lol @ Kanouté pic... unfortunately he isn't with a Utd shirt... Anelka had the mighty Arsenal shirt...

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Fuck me, how shit is Senderos... i thought Cygan had come back!

We played well, then lost it completely. Hoyte was crap today also, and Traore had no cover from Eduardo on the left. Gilberto looked rusty as hell also.

The plus point was Bendtner who had a good good game. Showed great strength. Can't believe we didn't get a penalty for the foul on Eboue.

I just hope we don't have any knock on effects from this game that effects us in the league. It has happened before when we went to Russia and lost 4-0 after having qualified, then lost next 3 in league.

I hope Wenger has someone up his sleeve to cover for Toure during the ANC, cos that Senderos was a liablity today.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Disapointed in that result - but you can't win them all :)

Apart from the start we never looked good enough. Bendtner did look good.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Not too worried, the ref was dying to give them a pen all night.

Lets see how we react now against Villa on Saturday.

Yeah you could see that - as soon as he saw the player go down, you knew he was going to do it.

Anyway its silly for Arsene Wenger to do what he did - even if he was in the right - as he will get a ban and a fine probably.

Edit: the pictures you put up of Kanoute are fine - because he was shit at Spurs and Spurs are shit. Also we are in the next round of the Champions league anyway. So the pictures do not Wind me up :)

The picture of Anelka shows an Ex Arsenal player - who played very well for us, take 3 points away from you. Meaning that Arsenal are 3 points ahead of you with a game in hand at the Top of the league. Thats why that picture was put up - it has more significance :)

Arsenal fans hate Spurs more than United...

that maybe true, but 1)This defeat doesn't hurt us in any way, we're still through to the knock out stage 2)Anelka put us ahead 3 pts... its not like the spurs got anything out of Kanoute scoring... unless they like getting off on us losing a pointless match in a competition they most likely won't get into any time soon...

it`s more of a warm up banter not a big issue really... the more you feed the bigger it will grow. AW said also we had abit of inexperience players playing in a big competition. He knows are squad is thin w/ so many games in the next few weeks the transfer window will be very interesting

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Should be good to see how you lot fair at the weekend , known to not have the best bouncebackability in recent years so could be a close game especially with Villa winning 4-0 against Blackburn

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

I wouldn't worry too much about Villa. They only dominated when Blackburn went down to 10 men. You'll win no problem.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Our recent form counts for nothing on Saturday and all I want is a committed performance from my lads.

Shit i'm playing way too much Football Manager.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

I think it'll be tough. Carew is the kind of big lump striker who is mediocre 90% of the time but occasionally turns up and hurts you. Agbonlahor is rapid too, we're going to have to keep and eye on him.

Rosicky to play in Cesc's position for me.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Wenger don't play him there though maybe he's a bit too lightweight, I think Denilson will come in though.

Glad Senderos ain't playing cos Carew would probably murder him. I will be happy if we put in a committed performance, an improvement on Wednesday at the very least ;)
