Arsenal Thread

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Its not like that. Its technically not against the rules but its still kinda unethical. Its like if a player gets seriously injured during a game. Most teams would knock the ball out for a throw in so the player recieves treatment and keep the game a fair and even contest. Technically you can carry on playing until the ball is out of play but you can't chose to play on and not expect to get some stick for it.

"Its technically not against the rules". No I its not against the rules. End of.

No I don't mean your intention I mean literally your words.

Go and read what I wrote and then imagine that context and then read the bit I quoted...it fits perfectly :lmao:

Not having a go at what you are saying at all, I have just been in a bit of an off-the-wall mood/humour today...sorry.

Edit .....I put it in here again...

Think of this...

This sounds like an argument put to an old lady, to try and get her put in a nursing home, suggesting that she may want to go into a nusing home- by her "oh so caring children" who might like to keep the house :lmao::lmao:

No one's forcing you to care. Its a choice you make. You chose not to and now people point the finger at you. You can't have it both ways. If you dont want to do it then fine but dont expect people to not be annoyed with it.

See?

:lol::lol:

If you know its technically not breaking any rules but still morally wrong, then stop moaning when people like Sir Alex brings the issue up.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Rune you are completely off your rocker...what are you on about still after 2 days.. stop listening to those voices in your head.

What is funny though is Fergie bringing up all this shite about home grown English players etc when his current team has how many in it:

Gary Neville
Rio
Rooney
Carrick
Hargreaves
Brown
Scholes

3 are proper home grown players, they came through the ranks at OT. The other 4 Utd spent upwards of £100m on! These are players that other clubs have developed and you have signed at a later date.

In our squad we only have Hoyte who we brought through so you win 3-1!! 3 players to 1!! Out of a squad of 30! However we have sold many other English players to other prem clubs:

Pennant
Muamba
Sidwell
Harper
Upson

Its just that they weren't good enough for us.

Maybe all this crap about English players is because Fergie is now wary that we are back as a title challenger and is getting a bit scared of our potential. Its something to deflect the media away from the simple fact that he is concerned we could take your crown.

ENGLISH players, not homegrown players.

He's been saying this for quite some time now.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

After the weekend I want to ask about your views...
Did Fabregas get booked intentionally for Wigan game at Emirates? Brilliant move? or youth (error)?

Cmon Israel ...Well England is my national team(that I support ;) ...Dominican Republic never qualifies :D

Well Fab was laughing after so I suspect it was deliberate. If so you could call it a tactical booking

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Bilic says England was not good enough regardless of formation... an attack on AW won`t hold too much water so a foreign coach might solve the problem. Now , how thick is that

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Well the good news is, when everyone else comes back from Euro 2008, they're all gonna need a rest at the start of the Premiership season. The English players wont need that...

.
...oh wait a minute. That doesnt really apply here. ;)

Non of your English players played either did they? They were 'injured' bet they play at the weekend though ;)

(not sure if they were all injured - before you start correcting me :) )

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

This can be an opportunity to give someone else to prove their worth. Diarra should get his break through now and let Walcott loose up front

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

looks like we're a bit depleted in the middle!

Arsenal.com said:
Eduardo seems highly likely to start on Saturday against Wigan at Emirates Stadium. Robin van Persie (knee) is still out and Alex Hleb picked up a hamstring injury on international duty. He will be sidelined for three weeks.

Nicklas Bendtner scored in both Denmark’s games in the past week but the manager has said he is reluctant to play the youngster alongside Arsenal’s other tall striker, Emmanuel Adebayor.

Wenger has less options in midfield. Along with Hleb, he is also missing Mathieu Flamini (thigh), Abou Diaby (back), Cesc Fabregas (suspended) and Gilberto (international duty). That leaves Lassana Diarra and Denilson as the only established central midfielders in the first-team squad.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Why is Gilberto only returning in a week? It seems his situation will get even worse now. I think he will leave in either January or the end of the season.

This game could turn very difficult. Without the three main central men and against a tricky club as wigan with a new manager. I can see a draw there. Hope not :)

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Gilberto will be sold. I cant see him being happy for much longer with his position in the squad. Plus he knows he should have been the captain.

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

Ahha, the debate about Gilberto being captain. At first, I went mad, thinking what on earth is AW doing ?!?!. But now I've realised - it's a great decesion. Tbh Gallas is a natrual leader, say in senarios this season like against Man U where we were 2-1 down. If Gilberto was captain, he wouldn't be rallying the team on as much as Galls. Gilberto is to quite. That's why I think Cesc will be an Arsenal captain. He has alot of passion and if something is out of place, he wont be scared to say it, he will rally the team on, hence, he'd be a better captain. Gilberto going would be bad as he is a Arsenal legend but lets be honest, we are very strong in Central midfield. And Flamini & Diarra are well capabile of holding the fort if Gilberto leaves. That's just in DM, Diaby could drop back, the same as Denilson. So I don't want Gilberto to leave but if he did, there'd be no real crisis tbh. :)

Re: The ARSENAL Thread - Still top!

CLEAN SHEET FOR ALMUNIA! LOL!!! DID HE EVEN HAVE TO MAKE A SAVE? THE LEMON MUST BE FUMING!!!!

ANYWAYS, HONESTLY WAS STARTING TO HAVE DOUBTS AROUND THE 75TH MINUTE THAT WE WOULDN'T GET THE BREAKTHROUGH, WIGAN WERE WORKING SO HARD, WAS LOOKING AT ARSENAL ON THE TV AND UNITED MUTED ON THE LAPTOP AND JUST THOUGHT IT WOULD BE ONE OF THOSE DAYS FOR BOTH TEAMS WITH ARSENAL LUCKY ENOUGH TO GRAB A POINT, BUT COME THE END OF THE SEASON A RESULT LIKE THAT COULD BE KEY, YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW ITS IMPORTANCE. FAIR PLAY TO WIGAN, THEY TRIED SO HARD AND ALMOST PULLED IT OUT. OH AND THANKS NICOLAS, I ALWAYS KNEW YOU NEVER REALLY TOOK THAT RED JERSEY OFF
