Arsenal Thread

You can never be certain what would have happened and Saha WAS our biggest goal threat at the start of the season. The reason he is never top scorer is he is always injured. Before he got injured and at the back end of last year he was scoring lots, so we did miss him a lot.
Ronaldo was not expected to score 15 never mind 20+. Do you really think Ferguson would have a bet if he thought he might lose?

Of course he would bet - they only bet £40 or something thats like me betting 0.0001 pence!! and it gives his player more motivation (Not that getting paid a squillion pounds a year should be motivation enough?!)

Anyway ok if Saha was your biggest goal threat (Debatable) - take Rooney out aswell and whaat would you have?

Anyway we can talk about it all day - but we are all right in our own special ways :-) Just me more than you.

This will go on forever. Let's just say we only had one STRIKER fit all season and the other 3 were out for half. You had two for most of the season with 2 out for half. Our midfielders and defenders weighed in with lots of goals and yours didn't. That's why we are champions and you are 4th.

ner ner ner ner ner.

Now let's stop and talk about something else.
Who are you buying in the pre-season do you think or will Wenger chance that the team will grow and be ready for next season?

We need a left footed winger(who scores like pires) fab is not a winger and neither is diaby and we need a gk too, no younger than 21 please....fuke the future tbh ;) .

I take your 'ner ners' and come back with a 'Wupdeedoo Da'.

I am bored of this arguing aswell.

I think we will get one or two players in - maybe a keeper and a winger. I think we need another decent striker though.

Who knows - we need to do something though as I can't take another season of ifs and buts. I can't keep coming up with excuses all the time!!

Alot of what I say is true but it comes with a bit of tongue and a topping of cheek.

Bottom line is the gap at the moment between us and United needs to be reduced.

I WANT RIBERY!!!! rant over.

Get in the que mate - after all the young ladies after his natural good looks - you have all the other teams after him.

Looks like there is alot of interest in him. But it could be good. lets wait and see.

We will probably nearly get him for 10million and chelsea will bid 20 million and we wont go that high. Then he will hardley play for Chelsea blah blah blah.

I get news from Arsenal News Review Ryan Babel seems reasonable while Ribery is out of our league (Babel 8mil. Ribery 20mil) as for a gk Fabianski is news to me.http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=38703

Who is this young-in "Kyle Bartley" from Bolton? I`m tire of unproven players.1 or 2 Ok ,but 9 and 10 of them. Surely playing them to sell them is good for business ,but trophies will be easier

It says Freddie Ljungberg is also on his way out of the club and Wenger may be ready to listen to offers for both Mathieu Flamini and Philippe Senderos.

Looking back at some of the important players Arsenal have lost over the last 4-5 years, have ANY of them been properly replaced?
You seem to be selling players and not finding someone good enough to fill their shoes.

as for a gk Fabianski is news to me.

Skysports.com can confirm Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

The Legia Warsaw keeper has undergone a medical at the North London club after Arsenal agreed an undisclosed deal with the Polish club for the shot-stopper.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been trailing Fabianski for some time and is thought to see him as an understudy for Jens Lehmann.

The Polish international has flown back to his homeland to play for Legia against Leczna on Wednesday and he is expected to return to London later this week to put the finishing touches to his move to Emirates Stadium.

Fabianski's agent Martin Wiesner has confirmed a deal is close to being sealed with Arsenal.

"We are very close to a deal with Arsenal, an agreement is there between both clubs," Wiesner told skysports.com

"We just have to arrange some details of his contract at Legia and with Arsenal.

"Lukasz had medical tests yesterday (Tuesday) and he has flown back to Poland to play for Legia on Wednesday.

"I expect him to return to London later this week to have more talks."

Arsenal are believed to have beaten two other clubs including Hertha Berlin to Fabianski.

"Lukasz has had three offers, one from Germany and one from another team," added Wiesner.

"Lukasz is in a good position and we are close to a deal with Arsenal."

uhh... who said nething about center forwards? thought we were talking bout strikers? Ronaldo was basically playing that striker role even at the wing... Henry practically plays that way, only he's put down as a central foward on paper...

look guys, I'm not calling out ManU, in fact I congratulate them for their successful campaing... I'm just calling out csaunders for his little implied cheap shot on us...

cheap shot?!?!? dude relax and stop drinking the arse kool-aid. Your a one man team, whenever henry is hurt, arsenal suffer, with ha fully fit henry next year i expect arsenal to win the title

LOL aone man team? Your chatting out of your as mate. if either van persie or henry was not injured, that gap between us and u would be slenderar at best!

we can still play our football and create 10000000000 chances. the only difference is that we dont have a player besides henry and van persie that can BURY those chances. take out rooney and ronaldo and manu are just has bad has arsenal :)

look at last night, you got man handled by chelsea

three differences between our draw and your draw

1. They had 11 men
2. We were away
3. It was our reserves.

Jonney mate, you'll never know what might have been. All I will say is when you had Henry and Van Persie, you weren't top of the league and the way Chelsea and United played in the second half of the season, it is very unlikely that you'd have overtaken them even if you had them all season.

You can hardly say kalou, diarra, sinclair, obi mikel, ben sahar are men
The only youngs you had were Dong, eagles, lee and Richardson(i don't know exactly how old is he)

At least we agree on one thing, with his temperament and attitude, Obi Mikel really isn't a man!

I think most would recognise the difference between Diarra/Eagles, Obi Mikel/Richardson and Dong/Kalou?

o plz, let it go... if u didn't have Ronaldo and Rooney all season u'd be playing for 3rd place just like us...

But you've picked our two highest goal scorers after the season has ended. Who's to say that van Persie would have scored more than your other strikers. It's all ifs and buts. You lost Van Persie and Henry at the end of January. At that point, you were 15 points behind Man Utd.
As I said, our main goal threat at the start of the season was Saha and we didn't have him for half a season. A fully fit Solskjaer would have been our 2nd biggest goal threat. Rooney and Ronaldo were not prolific last year.
Strikers wise we had Rooney for most of the year, Saha for half, Solskjaer for a few months, Larsson for a month or so and Smith just back from a massive injury.
We scored from all over the pitch. It seems to me that your team has become a little too reliant on your strikers whereas in the past you had Pires, Ljungberg, et al scoring for you.

No !it`s the fact that you want others to see your point over and over again(especially when your right). If you find yourself repeating yourself , Just quote your post and place it in your signature . You know you want to

no your killig this thread with meaningless posts. you say we was 15 points by jan when van and henry was out. Henry was out at the begining of the season mate

Look, I'll make this as simple as possible. If you still dont get it, I'll actually start quoting this post again and again.
At the start of the season, your biggest goal threats were Van Persie and Henry. Ours were Ruud, Saha and maybe Rooney and Ole. Throughout the season, you lost both Henry and Van Persie, we lost Saha, Ole and sold Ruud (yes its a valid point cuz this debate is more to do with how we cope without players rather than why we lost them).
Now when we had our injuries, players like Rooney and Ronaldo stepped up. These arent players who we look to for goals. These are players who normally service our real goal threat. But where were Arsenal's players who were supposed to step up to make up for Henry and Van Persie? You had no one else who could give you the goals they did.
The point is, both teams had some serious injuries but we were able to cope with them and you couldnt. You cant say we would have been shit without Rooney and Ronaldo cuz if someone like Rosicky and Fabregas had got you 35+ goals for you between them this season, it would be unfair for us to say you'd be shit without those guys too. Cuz they arent the ones that were supposed to get you the goals, they would have been the ones that stepped up to make up for your injuries.

@ RuneEdge I think you need to shorten it a bit to add that post under your Don`t buy PES6 campaign ...your stuck on stupid
