We better do something special next season. I think we will. With Henry back and Van persie - they will put in the chances we have been missing all season.

I have said it before lots of times but they are our top strikers and they have been out for most of the season. Imagine if Chelsea didn't have Drogbas goals this season? he got them alot of points.

Or Man United without Rooney - he has been pivotal in a few games. Big clubs have big strikers and when they are missing then you suffer.

So I think we have done ok this season and our youngsters did so well in the Carling Cup - Should have won the Cup.

But next season there will be no excuses. The young players have had a lot of experience and need to prove themselves week in and week out.

I still think we need a couple of good signings in the summer - nothing too fancy.

if we didn't have rooney or ronny for most of the season we prolly wouldn't be in top place. big teams need big match players and you are right Henry and V.Persie would be big losses to any team.

mAN uTD and thier wags are in londons west end today , they are auditioning for the parts of danny and sandy , its a last ditch attempt to play in GREASE LOL

Thought it post this here from footbie365 for those who dont go there (its best when you add a french accent in your head when reading it ;) ):

Henry`s Diary: The Captain`s Log

'What is that? Come on guys' writes the entirely fictional Thierry Henry in his entirely fictional diaries in which he berates a fellow party-goer for playing 'anti Trivial Pursuit'. IDIOT! STUPIDE...

Monday
I am working very hard in my recovery. It is tres tough but I am stepping up the exercises to recuperate from my many, many injuries. I have played through the last three years in terrible, horrible pain, but I never complained or hid. I am a man. I am not a woman. Sometimes in life you hit a wall. You cannot always climb every wall. Sometimes there is no rope. Sometimes you have to respect the wall. You can scratch the wall, or thump your fists against it, but the wall wins. I had problems on every part of my body but I played on. I punched the wall. But then I respected the wall. I am not a machine.

Tuesday
A 'journalist' wrote an article saying that my fitness problems were inevitable, as, according to this man, I have been very lucky with injuries in my career. IDIOT! Lucky? He is idiot. I am not lucky. I had no serious injuries because I live a clean life. I have a pure life, the life of an athlete, the life of an aesthete. This is why I didn't take big injuries before. I am a professional. I do not piss my talent inside the wind. I respect my body. I have seen too many players pissing their talent away inside the wind, going to clubs and parties. Stupide. They are idiots. I am not idiot. On a pitch I take risks, I take the ball, I go wide, I cross, I shoot (sometimes), I fly, I dance, I risk. But I never take risks with my body. I never drink extra-strength lager and go to many, many parties and make love with ladies that are not Nicole.

Wednesday
Another day of work in the gym. Very, very tough. When I will come back? I don't know. I am living day after day. But you know, my comeback was not helped by a problem in my home. My daughter and wife were watching the TV but I wanted to see something on Sky to help me relax un peu. At 7pm there was a beautiful transmission called 'Va Va Voom: King Henry of Arsenal' but my wife and daughter were watching a cartoon. I asked them to switch over but they said no. NO? Come on guys, what the hell is that? I am under stress, last year I played in the Champions League final and World Cup final. It was very draining to me, it took a lot out of me. Why can't they understand that? Why can't I watch the TV show I want to watch? After the difficult season I had last year and my injuries? And still they want to watch a cartoon? What is that? Come on guys.

Thursday
I went to Arsenal's training ground today to give the boys some hope. I was very concerned on my way in the car. I know that for them it is very hard without me. Every day in training they used to look up to me and follow my lead, and without me their lives are almost pointless. But I want them to carry on. I don't want them to give up. It would make me sad if my boys like Emmanuel and Kolo were too depressed to get out of bed at the thought of playing the rest of the campaign without Thierry Henry. I shudder when I think of the guys in crisis. But they have to carry on. ALLEZ!

I saw my boys. They are so upset those guys, they are so upset that I am not out there with them. But they must be brave.

Friday
My agent told me he met Carles Puyol at a chic soiree in Barcelona. I shrugged. What am I care? Puyol is not a man. In the Champions League Final in '06, we were both captains. He played like a cheat, beating, kicking and hitting me. But I didn't go down. I am not a woman. He won the trophy but he lost my respect so he wins nothing. He is not a man. You didn't win anything Puyol. You are the idiot.

Saturday
I had to go to a party at my wife's friend's house in the country. I spoke to the man controlling the CD player and he wouldn't let me play my favourite CD by Modjo, called 'Lady (Hear Me Tonight)'. Stupide English. He put on the Phil Collins and James Blunt. Is plastic musique for me. I cannot relax inside with this musique. How can I relax with this Phillip Collins?

Then we had the food. It was all covered in ketchup. What the hell is that? Ketchup with everything? Come on guys! Why do they only eat to live in England? In France we live to eat. Food is a pleasure, an art form. Ketchup? Pah! It is a crime against art.

After we played Trivial Pursuit and it was a disaster. I was winning, I was collecting every piece of coloured plastic fromage in order, starting alphabetically with the blue piece and going around the board clockwise, collecting every colour in sequence in a beautiful intricate manner. I was playing exhibition Trivial Pursuit. I think if you are playing a board-based quiz game you must do it beautifully. Why play this quiz without making something attractive? I used my instinct; I followed my instinct to answer a question about Milli Vanilli for the pink fromage.

Then a stupide man got all the fromages in an ugly order, without control and 'won'. When he got to the centre he got an easy question to win the match (which he guessed correctly!). It was very ugly, a bad victory. I should have won. Everyone thought it. The man who 'won' the game was playing 'anti-Trivial Pursuit'. Idiot. I can win like him, with ugly tactics, you know? But I will never do it like this. It is not the Thierry Henry way. Nothing scares me in board-based quiz games.

Sunday
It is now Sunday and to relax I had hoped to go to Paris for a few days but my wife wanted to stay in London for a fashion show. What? Come on guys? What the hell is that? Can't I relax in Paris when I want? I want to give my spirit some chance to free himself, to feel himself free and fly. I have played so many games. But sometimes your body says stop and you must listen to it. I have had so much pain. I played with an Achilles problem, a sciatic nerve problem, my stomach hurts, I have a broken nail. I even played against PSV in the second leg in pain (stupide PSV and their stupide manager Koeman, idiot). Why the hell can't I go to Paris? Why not? I am captain. I am Thierry Henry. I am not an idiot, so do not treat me as one.

But who lost to Sheff Utd, Fulham and Man City, and were beaten home and away by West Ham?

Thanks for your help in winning the title lads. :applause: You could have won the game had Gallas headed on target and Eboue's shot been a bit lower, but you definitely deserved a point for the way you dominated the first 70 minutes of the match. I'm off to bed after a long but memorable day. \\:o/

Well manu, and i wouldnt count a reserve team meeting in the carling cup as showing progress, remember you guys lost 4-1 at anfield recently, even things out as liverpool lost 3-0 at the emirates.

Thought you guys should have won really, playing chelsea with 10 men you created more then enough chances, just the final ball was crap nearly everytime. Next season should be interesting if rafa can get some ggo dresults while rotating the team and arsenal get some goal scorers back. And hopefulyl chelsea will have a new manager ;)

Amusing to hear the arsenal supporters chant "liverpool" to wind chelsea up. Shows the general hatred for them.

But we had our reserved team in the carling cup too. we beta them twice this seasona nd they only beat us once. so how does that even itself out? everyone hates chelsea, not cuz of there fans or players. but MORINHO! his a prick from another planet that thinks he is GOD of football.im soo glad manu won the league, thank god for that! now lets all hope manu win the fa cup too.

I do hate Mourinho - but I disagree its not their players! what about Ashley Cole?! I for one will be very happy if Chelsea only win the Carling cup (That they didn't deserve to win!).

Can't blame the Fans - as they haven't had much to cheer about with their team so I will let them off. You can't just stop supporting your team because they are dicks and immoral. I would still support arsenal if the same happened to us.

hopefully mourinho leaves and then we see the decline of Chelsea!

I'm going to put a bet on Arsenal and Liverpool to be the top two next season and Bolton to be relegated. The odds will brilliant and I recon it can happen easily.

If Arsenal had minimal injury problems like Chelsea did in there two Premiership winning Seasons - then Arsenal will have a great chance of the Premiership. So all this crap of Arsenal on the decline is crap - lets wait till next season - if we win nothing and do not do well, then I will take all the criticism.

Liverpool beating us 4 - 1 was a one off. We'd just been knocked out of the champs League and FA cup and left with nothing to play for. The point is in the big games against Liverpool this season we won very comfortably.

The only difference between us and Chelski is consistency, where we dominate games against smaller clubs we fail to win due to poor finishing, but against the title contenders (top 4) we more than hold our own.

exactly. where would chelsea be if drogba and shev was injured for most of this season? i tell you where. right next to arsenal and liverpool fighting to stay at the top 4. ANY top team that loses two of their best strikers will suffer. the amount of times drogba saved chelsea's ass this season says it all. van persie/henry would of saved our bacon a hell of alot this season if they where fit. heck the ONLY reason why we beat manu at the emirates is because of van persie

hmm united lost smith, saha, and solskaer for most of the season, only true striker who was healthy all year was rooney... i guess that just shows you united arent a one man team

except for Ronaldo who hit 20+ for you guys this season... Ronaldo and Rooney combined saved u guys from a lot of shame so I guess United are a two man team:lol:...

We lacked consistency and more PKs for Gilberto to knock in otherwise, we would have been fine :joker:

2 man? didn't we have 7 or 8 in the PFA team of the year?
Fact is, this year you weren't good enough. Every team has injuries and has to deal with it. Even before you lost Van Persie and Henry, you weren't top of the league.

so by your rationale, if you had lost Rooney and Ronaldo for 1/2 the season you would have still won the title because you had 6 other ManU players on the PFA team:roll: ...

I didn't use the injuries as an excuse... I said we lacked consistency...

No, I was highlighting the fact they we are not a 2 man team.
We lost Van Nistelrooy for a full season and Saha, Smith and Solskjaer for half.

Your biggest problem this year was not enough goals from midfield, which was our biggest strength.

Uhh...Ronaldo's not a center forward. The point made was that Chelsea and Arsenal might have done better with their forwards but Man Utd didnt have theirs either.

uhh... who said nething about center forwards? thought we were talking bout strikers? Ronaldo was basically playing that striker role even at the wing... Henry practically plays that way, only he's put down as a central foward on paper...

look guys, I'm not calling out ManU, in fact I congratulate them for their successful campaing... I'm just calling out csaunders for his little implied cheap shot on us...

The fact is Henry had 10 goals and Van Persie had 11 before they were injured. They are our two main strikers. Who knows how many goals they would have scored if they replaced Aliadere and Baptista? With the chances they both had I'm sure Henry and Van persie would have stuck alot of them away. They are our main goal threats - Man U main goal threats are Rooney and Ronaldo, take them away and what do you get? hardley any goals probably.

But everything gelled for you guys this season - it wasn't just those to guys, the rest of your team was outstanding to - you can't get away from that.

But I hate the way people write off arsenal and make things sound much worse than they really are.

But as I said its all ifs and buts - Man U played better and won the league, end of story.

As I have said though with our full team we can beat anybody. Especially if they try to play football and not kick us about and cheat. United tried to play us at footy twice and got beaten (Instead of the season before where they kicked us about all the time).

Granted we need to toughen up and find a consistent way to beat the crappy teams that can only kick us to bits. Hopefully it will come in time.

Lets just wait till next season.

I'd have said Saha and then a fit Solskjaer were more of a goal threat for us, but they were injured for a lot of the season. Rooney and Ronaldo were not prolific last year, but had to be this season. They stood up; unlike your reserve strikers.
Everyone except G. Neville and Van der Sar scored for us.

Saha and Solskjaer really are your best goal threats?

Rooney last season got 16 behind Van Nistlrooy with 21. So Rooney has to be your main goal threat. also I think Ronaldo got 12 last season.

So I think without Van Nistlrooy Rooney and Ronaldo are your two main goal threats taking into account recent history.

But your right our Reserve strikers didn't step up. But they are not our first team regulars which ROnney and Ronaldo are for you.

The two players at Arsenal that are world class I would say are Henry and Van Persie? (Van persie less so - but had a good world cup and was playing extremely well before injury)

We missed these two players - like any other team would miss their two best players. Thats all I am trying to get accross.

And no matter what you say - Rooney and Ronaldo are your best players. If you missed them this season then who knows what would have happened?

Also like to point out that the only main team players not to score for us this season are Lehman, Glichy and Senderos. With Gallas and Toure, debatable if Senderos is classed as a main team player now.

But even if he is classed - its only one more player than you guys.

Even Wes Brown scored, in that game against the European XI.

Man United played good football and deserved to win the League, what we're saying is that if ManU and chelski had their top 2 goal scorers missing ((Ronaldo,Rooney),(Lampard,Drogba)) for half the season they would've struggled like us.

You can never be certain what would have happened and Saha WAS our biggest goal threat at the start of the season. The reason he is never top scorer is he is always injured. Before he got injured and at the back end of last year he was scoring lots, so we did miss him a lot.
Ronaldo was not expected to score 15 never mind 20+. Do you really think Ferguson would have a bet if he thought he might lose?
