And now for some news about Carlos Vela from Salamanca:

It's in spanish, but is says they passed their physicals and doping tests required to join the Mexico U-20 National Team from Feb 21st through 25th in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Here's hoping he does well. Also mentions that his (along with U-20 teammate Giovani Dos Santos) ultimate goal on the national level is to be included in the first squad in time for the 2010 World Cup.

come on arsenal. fook bolton, they was lucky it was only 3 goals we scored.

and their was bolton manager critizising us as time wasters. even at 2:1 we still wanted 2 score and we did easily hehe
 
The best team won but now I know why Real Madrid don't want Craptista - he was awful last night.
 
What a game - very entertaining! I thought we played very well - but that was shocking defending on the corner when they scored! Three of their players unmarked?! crazy! but our defence and Alumnia did well for most of the match.

But It was a great cup game. Hopefully we beat Blackburn on Saturday - that would be fandabydosey!!
 
We did it in the Arsenal way! Can't remember the last time we missed 2 pens in 1 match.

Anyway, it was a thoroughly deserved victory against 'Ol Walrus face. How Anelka stayed on the pitch after that tackle god only knows! That would have topped the night off to see him trudging off after a red card.

Blackburn will be tough but I sense that this team really want to do well in the cup this season. Come on!
 
DARN IT they just defended the whole bloomin' match Rosicky and Hoyte should have scored thier chances though!!!!
 
I can't believe how badly we played in the second half - I think everyother pass we gave away - shocking!

We looked good in the first half aswell - I thought we were going to step up a gear, but we were awful in the second half.

Their goalkeeper played really well though - and they scored from a good goal. arguably their only decent chance of the game.

Lets hope we play well at the emirates on the return.
 
The worst second half performance since the Sheffield United game (whole 90mins was pap that day).

you know PSV are going to dig trenches and look for Kone again. Fair play on them, we did the same tactic in the champ league last season and got to the final.

I hope Eboue comes back, as i'd like Gallas back in the middle. Senderos looked like a bag of nerves. He was immense towards the end of last season, and needs to get that form back.

Henry fucked me off no end walking around with his hands on his hips. We needed someone to lift the team, and it weren't that fucking poser.

I think Gomes is a great keeper. Wonder if Wenger has him in mind to take over from Lemon at the end of this season?
 
We were crap and I have to agree Iceman, Henry is annoying me at the moment. He thinks he can just stroll around the pitch and everything will be ok. As captain, where is his encouragement of his team mates? Where is his willingness to drive the team on?

I have to say that I have enjoyed watching us more this season when he isn't playing. Shocking I know but thats how it is. By his own standards he has been poor overall and he must improve a lot before the seasons end. He looks very ordinary at the moment and whilst all players go through bad spells you have to show the right attitude to get through it. His body language is all wrong.
 
What was Senderos hand ball all about!! that was funny - I used to do that when I was young. That was silly by him.

Henry seems to be speaking one thing and acting another. He feels the pain of losing in last seasons final - then why the hell doesn't he inject a bit of passion in his game and work to get points.

It seemed last night Arsenal got to arrogant and thought they would get a goal.

I am so annoyed that our players do not shoot more often outside the box. We have some great players who can strike a ball from distance. It makes sense when you can't get through a defence to try some long shots to test the keeper and maybe get a rebound etc.

The keeper was emense but he is very tall and a few long range raspers along the floor would have tested him alot more. like the goal they scored against us.

Its so frustrating knowing what Arsenal are capable of and then seeing performances like that.

The team should stop being arrogant because they have no right to be - until they start having some consistancy and start winning things.

Thats my rant over with. Hopefully Arsenal get it together for Sunday - not expecting to win, but It would be fantastic if we did. Even though it is just the Carling cup - it will be more about beating Chelsea with the players we have been using all through the cup.

Come on Arsenal!!

I agree. To be frank, Henry is not captain material. I think he was probably given the armband as an incentive to stay at Arsenal, but this is the wrong reason. He has little leadership skills and has set a bad example to his team in recent weeks. Let him do the fancy stuff that he does better than anyone, while letting a man capable of leading like Gilberto take over the captaincy.
 
very touchy subject... I can`t say Henry is not good for Arsenal, I do feel we are a different element then before.Gilberto has adapted well even better and Henry will find that form which will work.He should be humbled by now and try different things.
 
Can you guys see Henry at Arsenal next season? I think this summer is the time to cash in. How much would you get for him in the summer do you think (if he was to be sold)?

Thats a difficult question, his stock is falling rapidly though, remember the £50m bids for him a couple of years ago??

Maybe he's injured (again) at the moment, I don't know but he isn't the same player that has been unbelievable over the past 7 seasons for us.

Current value? This is difficult, clubs like Real and Inter will always throw money at players and pay over the top. I think that he is currently worth around £15-£20m. Not that we would ever sell though..;)
