Arsenal Thread

Some sour grapes  get caught on hightlights and assumed we started a first team last night not the case they did came in due to injuries(the young lads dominated tots fairly easy)
but what would you expect from (2) clubs we beat at their respective homes. I WAS concern with young Walcott he wasn`t at his best . Denilson is a joy to watch very promising knock`in players on there arses

Out of all those players you listed at the top of your post, only 4 started the away leg in the semi final and only 5 started at home. The rest of the players were either youngsters (Traore) or reserves (Aliadiere).

This mix was much the same in the previous 3 rounds when we won away at WBA, Everton and Liverpool.

The media have built it up as kids v 1 st team but you are right this is a load of bollox. But what you have to admire is the way these younger players have come into the side and intergrated so well with the established players. Denilson looks like he has playing for years he looked so comfortable. The youngsters that have come in have played every round of this competition away from home until this semi-final second leg, they've pulled off some great results, put in some great performances and irrespective of what happens in Cardiff at the end of next month they've done themselves and the club proud.

The future is bright.

Any cup that gives our talents youngters the chance to show what they can do and give them some big game experience is far from a "couln't care less cup" as far as I am concerned.

Of course Its good for arsenal, you guys have alot of positives to take out, in that young players are coming through and the manager is giving them a chance. But really, how many of those players are going to make it to the first team in future? Another point which you pointed out is that those yougnsters looked comfortable which is correct. Having those first team players who have that experience in the squad help carry and make it comfortable for those younger memebers. Of course when you win no one mentions or highlights the big part those senior players played, rather its headlines screening 'Young Sensations' mentioning and congragulating the younger players as if they were the main reason for victory. These Last few rounds Baptista who is a senior player has been the main reason for your progress to the final. I'm not taking anything away from your accomplisment in reaching the final, I just have to correct some things when the media or gullible fans buy into hysteria and exaggerated statements.

Look at this for a shocker - i agree with Alucard for once!

While Arsenal have done well in this years comp with their reserves and i take my hat off to them, they have firstly been all well paid for from other clubs by quite a few million and of course look at the points above. i think people and the media are going well overboard on this.

And as for you, do not attempt to console as if your fair in agreeing with some of my points. If this had been liverpool you would be disagreeing until the end because you are very biased and thats being nice. I've got alot of points which are being brushed under the carpet by the media about Liverpool which need bringing to light. However there are certain forces which refrain me from dispensing these truthful facts about your club unfortunately

Well thats the British press for you, sensationalism at its best.

I am under no illusions though, yes we had some young players playing, yes we showed Spurs up for what they are but at the end of the day the current 1st eleven are not good enough at the moment to win the Prem and we need to improve to achieve that.

 I'm intrigued as to what these truthful facts are? Do the players turn into ware wolves after midnight? You could post them in the Liverpool thread if you wish.

Why would you be saying it in regards to Liverpool anyway? Completely unrelated.

Anyway i wasnt trying to be nice, i know how much hate you hold for us, i just saw your Liverpool post in the other section which i had to roll my eyes at. Its as if no other team has ever found favourtism over the years is it?

Well it was hypothetically speaking in that had Liverpool been in the same situation as Arsenal, with fielding a team of senior players while the media claming it was full of youths, you'd be happy to argue that indeed it was full of youths.

Who is this us? If you mean liverpool supporters, then you are wrong. Hate is too strong of negative emotion to afford to harbour. Especially when the referent is not worth hating. Pity is a better word.

In regards to your last question, yes there have been other incidents where other teams have been granted the the odd favouritism but not so many as Liverpool. If there is another team to have had the benefit of rules being bent so often, feel free to list those teams and incidents.

well yeah your being hypothetical, but its pointless.

Why do you pity us? Seems a bit strange that.

van persie and henry are better choice forwards ... persie on right side is much more effective then adebayor

All I know is that it's back to square one for Liverpool & Arsenal. You both NEEDED to win them games at the weekend.

Not really. Everyone in here realistically thinks that they'll get 3rd or 4th. Only the newspapers insisted the it was a 4 horse race after 'grand slam' weekend.

I would love to see both Arsenal & Liverpool challenge with Chelsea. It's already the best league in the world, lets make it even more interesting!

In the US new`s yesterday...An American billionaire owner of MLS rapids wants to extend partnership with Arsenal. Owner claims to be a fan of Arsenal, the price tag is said to be 300 mil

in exchange for payment is:

1. name change from Rapids to Arsenal _ _ _ _?

2.Last-season kits (colors I imagine)

3.annual visits (friendies)

4.send reserves to play on summer loans

5.send coaches and training staff,(set-up shops)

If this all happens Arsenal can fill their kitty w/o selling their souls...becoming a bigger club than yesterday.(take it all with a grain of salt)

A club that doesn`t waste but economizes

Arsenal doesn`t gain nothing really from this where`s the money??? Arsenal will use this to hide their players girlfriends for ransom? where Denver anyhow? AW said he`s not going there it`s too far

:applause: Arsenal are truly magnificent at home. You have come back from 1-0 down a few times there this season.

We were pretty disgraceful today. Henry has gone down in my opinions of him. If he was playing for the other team I would be calling him a cunt. Not only that, but he played shit too, i dunno if the 90 mins for france had anything to do with it but he's had a long enough break.

Generally we were very luck to win with the heskey post incident, the heskey penalty shout, and the offside equaliser. I think that wigan deserved at the very least a draw. The only player that impressed me was rosicky again. fast becoming my favourite player. Something bout those number 7s

yup, fucking hate Henry at the moment. Be arrogant if you're good, but when your shit, don't chuck it Theirry. You need to pull your socks up son! He had enough chances to put the ball away, and if that was anyone else, he'd be busting a blood vessel sceaming at them! Wenger give the band to Gilberto next season!

Great save by Lehmann on Heskey's shot, but the team were poor on general. Wigan were hard done by today, but a wins a win.

Cant deny your team spirit in always wanting to get the winner though.I hate it when I see the Goons in the mood to find the winning goal because 8 times out of 10,they did.

Big game tonight! at the Reebok. we are goign to rest Henry?! surely this is the sort of game he should play more than any. are defence is weakened at the moment - pretty sure we will concede again - so we need all the attacking threat we can muster.

Can't see us winning, they are definately a side in recent history that we just have no answers for - especially at their ground.

But hopefully we can end this curse they have over us - Hopefully!!

I have a feeling we will win tonight...just a feeling not a prediction!

Henry is definately going to be rested, trust Arsene he knows what he is doing. I would love it if we beat them, love it!
