Arsenal Thread

That's 7 goals in 2 games now for The Beast if you count his own goal tonight. Take a bit of that Bap sandwich there Spurs fans.

6 goals in a mickey mouse competition doesnt really impress me. I doubt he'll ever break into the first team.

What a ridiculous statement! Spurs had their 1st team playing, they were full strength. Doesn't matter what the competition is that the 2 teams are playing for.

He scored 4 at Anfield and 2 at WHL, which means the Beast is turning into a bit of a cult hero.

I do laugh when other fans call it a Mickey Mouse comp, is that because you are out of it by chance?

Anyway, this is what Wenger has to say about the Beast:

"Julio Baptista has shown again what a player he is. He scored an own goal, but instead of feeling sorry for himself he scored two for us. He is mentally a very strong player and he will get his chance to play more as the season goes on. He likes it here and likes the atmosphere inside the squad. It took him four or five months to adapt, but he is in my mind."

Looks like he might just break into the first team, especially as RVP is now injured.

It's so funny to see United fans criticise it when a pretty strong United team lost to the team at the bottom of the Championship!

Once again Cesc showed how good he was, he actually dominates the midfield at 19, what will he be like in 5 years time!

Good to see Arsene say the team will be pretty much the same if we get to the final as well.

Well the scum need to score at the Emirates now. That's a lot of pressure on a team that just threw away a 2 goal lead at home.

Also what the fuck was Robinson doing for that second goal? I loved the Arsenal fans sarcastic use of "Englands number 1"

 I was only messing about. Look how quickly you snapped at it. I've been suggesting he plays in the first team ever since he signed, where as some of you lot doubted him.

hmmm.. he's right. He was championing Bap's cause when a lot of others (goons as well) wrote him off as a pony.

Felt sorry for the beast when he scored an own goal, but the way he powered through for the first goal was tremendous. What a steamroller! Great movement by Hoyte for the second. Where was Robinson going??? It wasn't time for half-time jaffa's right then! :D Bring on Bolton (wankers the lot of them, especially Fat Sam "gimme a backhander, and some to my son" Alladyce).

Baptista has shown what a good player he can be when given the chance. Never any question of his ability in my mind. I like him as a player, and from what I have heard he is a good guy in general as well. I think he will fit in well with the way Arsenal play and can be a solid member of the squad in the long run hopefully.

Definitely worthy as my new ava.

"Bap (often a larger soft roll, say 5-6 inches in diameter). Word has existed since 16th century, and stands for barm and pastry. Dough can contain fats such as lard or butter to provide tenderness to dough. Can come in multiple shapes dependent on region. Traditional bap of Scotland is not sweet unlike Irish version which may contain currants."

That's the Bap right there from Wikipedia. I knew it existed. I walked into bewleys in Dublin one day and asked for a sandwich and the woman asked me if I'd like it on a roll or on a Bap. the word instantly attached itself to me. The BAP. "i'll have it on a Bap please, yeah, a Bap sandwich"

I admit I wrote baptista off weeks ago...which I`m happy to eat my words :D I will learn to pipe down abit on the gunners...Where`s Alucard?

There has been no peep from Alucard since Arsenal beat United bebo, maybe that's just a coincidence though...

Man right now Im loving the way Arsenal are playing. They are really good to watch. The Man Utd game was ok to watch, but my favourate part of the match was when Henry was running at Neville and made him run back around 15 yards coz he was shit scared!

Great team.

Guys you all constantly slate Alucard and tell him to "fuck off from this forum" and now you all want him back to take the piss. So you are being childish and just as bad if not worst than him? If you don't like the member, leave him alone and just enjoy Arsenal playing well at the moment (until the weekend when Bolton knock you out of the cup ;))

I`m offended...AL been my good m8 since day 4 the difference is he can take a punch as much as he gives them.No one here is dogging Al, he the type of bloke that gives his view even when it`s his own team...I admit he over the top at times but none the less he`s part of the community.

I wants to see his views of the match, maybe his still watching videos for accuracy...When your being ask for it cause your wanted

Fair enough Bebo, but I don't think many members care about his views! They want his BLOOD (it's all jealousy because he is far more intelligent than most of the gimps on this forum)

I'm still here. Young Diego took the words right out of my mouth, some people have been crying and beggin for me to either get banned or removed from their precious club thread. Once I'm gone for a little while, those same people want the banter to return.

What people forgot is this is a football forum where fans from other teams are going to go into eachothers threads and either praise or criticise the team. It would be boring if everyone stuck to their own club threads and only and praised their own team. Seems to me if you don't think and believe the sun shines out of some fans team (even when results and facts show the team to be relatively poor) then your either a wind up merchant or talking crap. I deliver praise aswell as criticism, even with the club I support as balance is neccessary in order to present a valid argument. I hope you have all learned something from my absense and in future appreciate my contribution to this forum..

Thank God you're back, I've been refreshing the Evo-Web forum screen ever since you last were on hoping to see you on, do you know what that can do ones mind? Do you know how many hours I've sat here? I sat here for 421 hours, and 37 minutes if you want to get precise. That's how long its been.

no one would really be on ur case as much if you were to criticise the team rather than criticise the fans or the people that support the team... its one thing to insult the team, its a totally different matter when it comes to insulting people trying to enjoy the game... players and managers get payed to take the heat and if i were being paid the money they were, i'd take all the insults u can throw at me Al, but i'm not... Diego may say you're more intelligent than most people on the forums... he may be right, he may be wrong... but that does not make u sir, a better person than most people on the board... i'll admit that your critcism on how teams play are refreshing and are appreciated, but the insults are really not necessary... just looking at the havoc u wreaked on the liverpool thread says a lot about your "contributions"... i for one enjoyed your little vacation away from the board... that's just how i feel about it and it won't change for a long time...

Ah you are wrong again, child. I have criticised and insulted players and managers(not fans intially) of a team and people here have taken it personal as if that player/manager was a relative. Criticism in what ever form is not easy to take I understand, barriers are in the way where people become defensive and abusive with their words. I merely retaliate with some of my own verbal attacks, I praise and insult in equal measure in which results in some fans losing the plot and getting caught up in a slagging match with myself. They can dish out their nonsense but they cannot handle retaliation.

Furthermore I'm not overly fussed about your perception of myself or that you enjoyed my absence. Judging by our interactions, I don't think too highly of your footballing judgement. I'm not on here to make friends, im here to discuss football. If someone makes a ridiculous point or decides to use abusive langauage towards me I shall tell them straight what I think and usually back it up with an explaination unless the point is just too stupid, in which case a quick jibe will do.

Also I do not believe I am better than anybody, that is not a judgement I choose to hold. However I have a high confidence in what I say because its apparent that i have a better understanding of things than 80% of this forum and feel its my duty to help enlighten those less knowledgable fans who sprout misguided opinions.

AL. I think Chai is almost right about you. I've read all of your posts and it IS usually you that starts with the insults. They may not seem like insults to you but when you call people cretins and their views spasticated for disagreeing with you, it's bound to start an argument.

can you blame others for lashing out at you with comments like "Only liverpool fans will disagree because naturally criticism about their team is more difficult to take than hubcaps."? that's not exactly criticism... that's just a vindictive comment for your own cheap laughs...

"Anyone with eyes to see who doesn't get sucked into the media hypejob frenzy will tell you it was a good goal, nothing more. Its only because it was scored by Henry that people glamourise it and give it special treatment." that's criticism, and a differing view of a situation which is refreshing... you want to discuss football, that's great... but just because you're not here to make friends doesn't mean you can troll because you're bored...

and furthermore just because people don't agree with you, doesn't mean you have to make them agree with you... there are no such thing as misguided opinions, just disagreeable ones...

This is rubbish to be honest. Whenever you have had a barney with anyone here they have given as good as they have got in my opinion. And you are in no position to accuse others of dishing out nonsense. Also, as far as I have seen, you have been the instigator when petty arguments turn abusive Alucard.

Others "use abusive language", after personally insulting them what exactly do you expect in return?

This is a contradiction Alucard... You are starting to believe the hype that people like El Diego have created about your apparent superior nature. It is highly unlikely judging by your recent posts that you know 80% more than the majority of football fans on this forum. If you did you would never result to flaming others based on their geographical location, something you do on regular occurrences. These are not the actions of an individual who can solely rely on his knowledge to win an argument.

I'll probably get abuse for writing this. The last time I questioned your views you accused me of being a Scouse lover and a hypocrite... Don't make the same mistake twice because that was extremely poor to be honest. And after a simple response from myself you had nothing else to say on the matter to back your statement up?

Like I have said many times before, you are capable of making good points, unfortunately they are often lost in the bigotry you show toward others. Overall I have no personal problem with you at all, but some simple replies like this are required when you make these self righteous and highly hypocritical posts.

I take it that you include yourself in this group of supposed gimps Diego? Because I have yet to see you post anything that was even remotely intelligent in these football threads.

You've been quite the little E-Warrior of late, barging in to slander and ridicule me at every given opportunity. I must admit I thought you were a good kid, but looks as though I was mistaken. With regards to your drivel I think I have every right to hold others accountable for causing arguments as it is not always my fault. Ever heard of provocation?

Also, as far as I have seen, you have been the instigator when petty arguments turn abusive Alucard.
Others "use abusive language", after personally insulting them what exactly do you expect in return?

I do not think so, usually its simply a case of me reacting to someone who has first used abusive langauge towards me because they do not agree with a point I make about their team. The only thing I instigate is a football related debate.

Its not hype neither contradiction, Ive been here for a long time and had many debates with a variety of fans from around the world. Many have failed to argue a valid point football wise compared to my own and taken the argument downhill to slagging matches because they are either losing the argument or cannot handle the truth. I only deal with facts and the truth. Also, when dealing with certain characters you have to get your hands dirty as they only know how to talk rough with their dirty mouths, so sometimes delivering some home truths geographically is the only way to get through to these individuals. It goes back to the Biblical commandment 'Treat others the way you want to be treated'.

I'll probably get abuse for writing this. The last time I questioned your views you accused me of being a Scouse lover and a hypocrite... Don't make the same mistake twice because that was extremely poor to be honest. And after a simple response from myself you had nothing else to say on the matter to back your statement up?

Yes I did call you a Scouse lover simply for the fact that you were hitching your wagon everytime to protect and befriend Antred, revelling in sharing jokes and insults towards me. You took things to heart and sided with the Liverpool supporters even though the intial criticism I started( before everyone jumped on my back and decided they all wanted to be against the 'evil alucard') you had agreed with me on, which is why I called you a hypocrite. And yes I did reply to your nonsensical message which you either missed or you are making up that I did not reply.

Like I have said many times before, you are capable of making good points, unfortunately they are often lost in the bigotry you show toward others. Overall I have no personal problem with you at all, but some simple replies like this are required when you make these self righteous and highly hypocritical posts.

You like to throw the word hypocritical around yet you have no basis. I never said I was innocent, I admitted I delivered my share of verbal attacks however I am not going to accept that I am soley responsible for every argument which breaks out.. Far from being self righteous, rather just telling it like it is. Its blatantly obviouse you and many others do have a personal problem otherwise you would not be so obsessed about my posts or keep account of my appearances.
