Arsenal Thread

Fret not, I have no intention of turning this thread into a war of words. The club threads have seen enough of those to last a life time. I am confident with my previous post so I can leave it at that. I don't agree with Alucard's responses, but that's probably to be expected.

Alucard, Whatever you may think, it's nothing personal on my part. I don't seek allegiances, and I don't jump on bandwagons trying to kick a man when he is down. My thoughts are my own - based on what and how I see individual points or arguments. Any posts I have made concerning yourself have been a mixed bag of agreements and disagreements, before and after your time in the 'spotlight'...

BTW, this is me taking the moral high ground as we know this could escalate further given the chance. Something I would be prepared for, but don't particularly want. As far as I am concerned from now on it's up to others to judge what we have both said - if they choose to.

Come on boys lets dump Ol' Walrus face out of the cup! If there is one manager who I have virtually no respect for its him. Plus we owe them a beating after they knocked us out last year and beat us in the league. Come on Arsenal!

It's a certainty that the Baptista loan will become permanent IMO. Reyes had his moments at Arsenal but was far to inconsistent. He obviously wasn't enjoying time in England either so he will probably remain in Spain. Overall, good news for Arsenal fans!

It was a bit of a risky deal to begin with though. If Reyes was a flop at Madrid, Baptista would have been much harder to get.

 :applause: :lmao:

we did well today and i feel that we are destined to beat them in their own ground hench why we drew here today. call it fate or whatever, arsenal still in it without a doubt

BTW, am I allowed to say penis here or is that as controversial as calling someone a "poppadom"?

I think bebo knew what he was saying, I hope. ;) Anyways, Bolton are definitely a bogey side for the gunners. Arsenal just don't know how to play them it seems.

I guess the distraction worked ... no one came to remind us how we couldn't remove those thorns from are arses(tossers`) .Good news!! Baptista will be back sooner then we have anticipated.WTF chelsea and there divison draws Blackpool (Tangerine Army) great Shev will get another goal making Roman a genuis

I have been saying to my workmate who is a Chelsea fan before the cup draw that Roman has paid off the FA to give them easy ties. Macclesfield and Forest at home and now they have Blackpool or Norwich at home!! When they get through that just wait, they will get Plymouth or Derby at home. You heard it here first.

Anyway, doesn't look like Baptista is going to be fit for tomorrow and thats a blow but I am sure we will have enough to see them off to reach our first league cup final since 1993.

They've had an easy ride in the Carling cup as well.

Its a big night tonight, we will lose eventually at the Emirates but please not tonight! Not against The Spuds.. [-o<

The pre-derby nerves have kicked already ...

I hope Wenger sticks with the youngsters for the final and how good would it feel if you beat the billionaire rent-boys with your reserves?

All this 'Young Gun' 'Youngster' talk is beginning to annoy me. Lets look at these supposedly young freshmen who have been the backbone throughout your CLC journey.

Eboue - First choice right back
Toure - First choice centre half
clichy First choice left back
senderos First team member central defence

Almunia - Old man approaching his mid-30's. Though I'm sure Wenger still required his pictures from when he was little.
Fabregas - first choice midfielder
Gilberto - vice captain
Baptista - established brazil international
Bosicky - first team member
Adebayor - First team
Senderous - first team player

Those players are out of your first team with a mix of a few genuine newcomers in Wilcott, Troare, Denilson and Aliadare coming in. It is a strange mix, much like United's squad last year in the 'Couldn't Less Cup, which the media laughably claimed was our Full Strength squad and showed how desperate Fergie was to avoid the sack or something.

One year later, and the media would have you believe Arsenal have gotten to Cardiff fielding their Under-15's squad.

Look at this for a shocker - i agree with Alucard for once!

While Arsenal have done well in this years comp with their reserves and i take my hat off to them, they have firstly been all well paid for from other clubs by quite a few million and of course look at the points above. i think people and the media are going well overboard on this.

Out of all those players you listed at the top of your post, only 4 started the away leg in the semi final and only 5 started at home. The rest of the players were either youngsters (Traore) or reserves (Aliadiere).

This mix was much the same in the previous 3 rounds when we won away at WBA, Everton and Liverpool.

The media have built it up as kids v 1 st team but you are right this is a load of bollox. But what you have to admire is the way these younger players have come into the side and intergrated so well with the established players. Denilson looks like he has playing for years he looked so comfortable. The youngsters that have come in have played every round of this competition away from home until this semi-final second leg, they've pulled off some great results, put in some great performances and irrespective of what happens in Cardiff at the end of next month they've done themselves and the club proud.

The future is bright.

Any cup that gives our talents youngters the chance to show what they can do and give them some big game experience is far from a "couln't care less cup" as far as I am concerned.
