@Clockender, About Julio Baptista. I think he desperately needs games to show what a good player he is. He needs to get a consistent run in the team if he's gonna find the form he had at Sevilla. I dont know how he would fit into the Arsenal side on a weekly basis though?

@Alucard, antred, why dont you have a PM war if you want to continue this personal battle. Its no longer really about football, but getting one over each other.
 
Indeed, boring now.

Baptista doesn't look fit enough to me. He's only ever played in the Spanish and Brazilian leagues which operate at a notably slower pace to the Prem. I'm personally confident that he'll come good, but to put it bluntly he looks a bit fat at the moment.

Wenger must know this, because as Rune said, he's not a wonderkid who needs to be kept in bubble wrap. He's supposed to be a big bruiser, a beast! Time will tell but I think given a run of games he might carve a place for himself in the team.
 
He needs to be played.

We're relying a bit too much on Ade at the moment. He's playing shit-hot, but we need a buffer for Ade until Henry is back, and the Beast is that man.

Used to play CMF for Sevilla, and that's the position i think Wenger saw for him when letting go of Vieira. However, that one season, when Sevilla had all their stikers out injured, he was pushed up to play attack, and he was an overnight celebrity - hence getting a call up to the Brazil squad.

Van Persie is not getting as much goals from the strikers role as i had hoped this season, though he has scored some cracking free kicks.

On another note, Wenger is stated as saying he's looking to sell in January, and not buy? I seriously think we still need another striker and CMF. I just hope when Diaby gets back from his awful injury, that he becomes the player i hope Wenger saw potential in.
 
Disgusting dives from Van persie. Just hope they hound him down and make documentarys about it like they did with Ronaldo against Boro.

he never dived, he got taken down for the penalty mate, all the commentator says it from bbc to sky sports

why are u always posting in this thread? i swear ur a manu fan.. u post here more than in the manu thread
 
Just saw it again last night, I admit it wasnt a dive as the player did make contact. The first time I saw it looked like he decieved the referee and judging from the reaction of the player who fouled him. I was watching it off a dodgy stream you see.

Oh and for the fact that I post in here doesnt mean I stop being a United fan. I enjoy watching football no matter what the club. I post in the liverpool,chelsea and arsenal thread because I'm interested in how United's rivals get on.
 
Only saw a stream myself and it did look like a dive so I can see what you thought. Maybe people will give Ronaldo a bit of the benefit of the doubt sometimes, as he doesn't always dive.

Can we just get back to talking about Football? Our performance yesterday going forward was brilliant, some of our moves were a joy to watch. We are still a bit suspect at the back though and this will need to be addressed if we are to challenge for the title next season.

Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone!
 
IMO you probably wouldnt even have scored half of those goals if Henry was playing. His presence would have completely changed the purpose of your game.

When he returns, you should probably play him as the second striker or on the wing when you go 4-5-1, rather than making him the main striker. Adebayor does a better job in bring other players in like van Nistelrooy used to for us.
 
Yea thats true, runedge u seem to post alot on our threads regarding the fact that u r a manu fan. interesting because arsenal aint ur main rivals anymore, chelsea are in terms of the title challenge. still u must love the way we play
