Arsenal Thread

rather they couldn't stop us from playing.

I wouldnt say that, any team trying to match arsenal for footballing ability will be beaten (including us if we are not playing at 100%).

Its been proven over the past years (or since your unbeaten season) that if you get in arsenals faces then they cant play cos they dont seem to have a plan B, Reading arent really a "tough" team and naively thought they could play against you's.

It wasnt a dig at the gooners, just an observation.

By the way goons....

Cesc is for me along with our little ginger prince, one of the best midfielders I've EVER seen, hearing the lad talk after the game about his contract was great to hear (especially in todays climate of greedy bastards) IF you's beat us to reo-coker then your CMF will be lethal!

I think last weeks Reading game against Chelsea did you a favour. If the injuries hadn't happened they night have been a bit nastier to you.

they were too busy chasing shadows just like ManUtd did only difference was Henry and vanP didn`t played at Old Traff there`s alot of cases ,but only results counts

cant we all just say that the gooners just played very well against a team that both united and the chavs struggled against (although we played some great football that day, just couldnt score)

thats why I was pleased to hear his comments in his post game interview....

I hope Rooneys motives for signing his "for life" deal at united are the same....

Fabergas said that the deal was done 2 months ago and Rooney also said he wants to sign for life I guess it will happen when ManUtd needs a lift and ATM it`s not needed being top of CL and EPL

Well arsenal scored early and then reading had to come forward more after that,so left more space for arsenal to exploit. I'm sure if United got a early goal against reading, it would have been the same outcome if not worse.Referees not giving dodgy penalties against us would have helped too.

fuck off United were terrible apart from Ronaldo

Arsenal are the best team I've ever seen at the Madejski (except for Bristol Rovers who beat us 6-0 a few years ago )

I dont know what match you watched but as far as I recall we had 59% posession while reading were holding on to their lives as if it were a final with just a measly 41%. You can suck arsenal all you want, but the truth is Utd and chelsea wore Reading down so by the time arsenal played, they were already drained.

Thank you for the hardest laugh in my life. That is fucking brilliant classic UK GOLD comedy moment!

O is that why we battered them? United wore them down.

Well i guess Blackburn and Bolton wore down Liverpool for ManU, and Celtic wore you down for us. What a joke.

I too saw your match vs Reading and the only player i rated was Ronaldo.

Yes then, Arsenal were so great to beat the mighty reading. Unbelievable victory!Well done Let the wank-fest begin(aided and abetted by your Reading/Bum/Brothers) who enjoyed getting beat as it was the best team they ever witnessed defeat them.

bebo where do you watch your Arsenal games? i was down in Miami last month and found it hard, I think I ended up getting one place.

sour grapes:mrgreen:

my point is reading aren't exactly a watermark team to be judging a teams title chances from and getting carried away with performance. Hell Wigan just beat Man Shitty 4-0, does that mean they play great football and are capable of moving planets?

actually Arsenal are the best team to ever come to the Madejski Stadium

in the last 5 years no team has ever put 4 past our defence at home

and I cant even remember the last time we conceeded in the 1st minute, must've been 2 years ago

the point is you don't completely outplay a team that:
- had been unbeaten at home for a year until a week ago
- hadn't been beaten by 2 or more goals for 55 games
- hadn't conceeded 4 goals at home for 6 years
unless you are a damn good team, and Arsenal were - although I admit our very attacking mentality played right into their hands

hell I still hate Arsenal with their arrogant players like Henry (who needlessly dived to get a free-kick vs Reading) but you just have to stand up and admit they were brilliant against us

hmm so its only the arsenals and barca's that can get a win against reading at their ground. Come on wake up, your in the premiership now, everyone expects reading to get beaten 4-0 5-0 it was inevitable. This aint the championship where you can cruise against pub players week in week out and break records and act like your chelsea. You playing against quality opposition now, and by all means arsenal have quality in their squad but they are not how your making them out to be. Your behaving like this team just came out from the skies and saved lives.
Put it this way, its like when United beat fulham 5-0, it would have been OTT if the supporters went on like the played best football in the world just because they beat a mediocre team such as Fulham.

You're an idiot.

You argue for the sake of arguement.

You post short-sighted nonsense that even your fellow Utd fans disagree with just to get a reaction out of people like me.

And here I am playing right into your hands #-o

and yet ManU and Chelsea couldn't put up the 4-0 or 5-0... should we begin lowering the expectations so you guys can keep up? the point is we did something you couldn't do as of this moment... we outplayed you at Old Trafford and we took care of Reading via meeting "everyone's" expectations... so that would mean Arsenal: 2, ManU: 0 for the season?

Incase you didnt realise sunshine, this is a football forum where different opinions take place and people form arguments. As for United fans disagreeing with me, well I think thats natural. I wouldnt expect them to agree with everything I say, neither expect them to parrot word for word my opinions. It wouldn't be interesting bum licking eachother just because we support the same team. I don't know maybe that is foreign here in this thread as like most of the arsenal squad.

I understand sometimes my comments dispel notions that supporters have built up in their head about their team. Revealing the reality of the situation against media common opinion is not always popular. The truth can be hard for some to swallow against long held fantasy that people have bought into about their teams hype. I realise I can expect a few adverse spasticated remarks such 'fuckoff' or 'your an idiot' 'why are you so truthful'. Normally I don't waste time talking to individual mentally challanged people here. But since it seems like its a group of you who cant seem to think for yourselves, I may aswell educate you on a few things which I think will benefit the group as a whole in this thread. Maybe, just maybe one day you'll grow up and see my point.

Erm, truth:
Arsenal scored 4 goals against Reading, at the Madjeski
United scored 1, and were harshly pinned back by a penalty that was the second harshest, unnecessary penalty I've seen given for years, the first being Reina's 'handball'
Therefore, it would apper even if United had won, they still didn't outplay Arsenal.

Further truth, Arsenal came up to Old Trafford and won. I wouldn't call it a convincing thumping, but it's a victory.

Further truth, Arsenal still don't appear to be able to beat teams that get stuck in, see CKSA or early prem results.

So in conclusion: Arsenal, if you give their midfield space and let them attack, are the best team in the premiership.
If you realise this and close them down, and don't let them score in the first minute, they are not the best team in the premiership.

My conclusion - Arsenal should relocate to Spain, they'd own La Liga... ;)

Yup, that's right. It's the world that's gone mad, not you.

You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion and I apologise for calling you an idiot (bit childish).

However, you must accept that when you are the only one suggesting that Reading's hiding was 'inevitable', even when statistics support Arsenal as the best team to play at the Majeski for 5 years (that's how long it's been since a side put 4 past them), even when a staunch Reading fan who has been there to watch 'em all and then comes out and says "Arsenal are the best team I've seen at the Majeski", it does somewhat smack of sour grapes from you.

I'm not convinced you'd be saying the same thing if Arsenal had scraped a 1-1 and Utd had beaten Reading 4-0.

Now I know you perhaps like to think of yourself as a Christopher Columbus (the world IS round! One day all you idiots will see!) but unfortunately your blatant partisanship, peppered with antagonistic, anti-Arsenal slurs (Arsene Rapist, Robin Van Rapist) does undermine your credibility as the torch-bearer of all things true and fair in the world of football opinion.

Kolo has also signed on which is fantastic.

“I can see myself staying here [at Arsenal] for the rest of my career,” said Toure. “Why would I want to leave. I love my football here, my family is settled here and the club is ambitious. It is fantastic.”

Any one know how long that deal is for?

It's amazing what a difference 6 months makes. At that time everyone though Henry would leave, Fabregas would follow and the young players at Arsenal weren't good enough.

Fast forward and the Gunners have a young squad that is tearing it up in the prem, Henry, Fabregas and now Toure are going to be there a long time and they still play attractive football.

Behold the power of Chelsea, I can actually say I'm happy for you guys!

What a childish statement with no relevance to how Arsenal played against Reading. "Bum licking"...

Your own fans and others do not agree with you.

What arrogance! Just cause you've got a different opinion from the majority, does it make it the right one? Seriously how old are you?
