Arsenal Thread

Yeah you can rub it in now, I was so wrong! But seriously arsenal were the better team and there is no excuses from our part.

Its funny how much better Arsenal play with a 4-5-1, despite wenger so often saying his team won't play defensively. Gilberto had Rooney in his pocket the whole match, and Arsenal just preyed off of United's mistakes, of which there were many. Wish pool had beaten chelski too, then all of a sudden the table is a lot closer!

Although we were shit, that quote isnt true.

I guess someone who got sent off in the first few minutes shuld take that acclamation, but everytime he went forward he lost it, he didn't track back, and over committed then missed almost every ball in defense.

At least Ole showed that there are still some United players with class and determination.

Was shit scared when Ole came on. What a save by Lehmann from OGS. It wouldve have been so typical of United to have scored at that point, but what a save.

with henry it would've been more then 1 goal

Not true. He might of had a negative effect. Who knows? At least we can win without him. Twice in a row now away against good teams.

Have to give it to some of the inexperienced players in that Arsenal side. But I guess some of that comes from the poor performance by us.

Baptista looks like the man for you guys. If he was the lone man upfront, I bet you'd have scored a couple.

I'm delighted with this win! My weekends have been drab these last few weeks because of a underperforming Arsenal. Well played to Gilberto and Lehmann being rocks at the back of our defense. These 2 players have taken lots of stick in the past from us gooners.

I think United, however, by their usual standards were poor against us today, maybe the players underestimated us a bit eh?

This is somewhat of a rarity. I think it was good for the team to picj up a win without Thierry, it may have a positive effect on him as well. Let's hope our season starts here..

A really entertaining game, although quite a poor technical standard from two sides who have designs on the Champions League this year. Both teams gave possession away far too easily, Arsenal happened to capitalise but in truth it could have just as easily gone the other way. But then that's football I guess, fine margins and all that.

Rosicky looks the dog's danglies. That through ball to Abebayor in the 1st half was sumptious, and finally! An Arsenal player willing to shoot from outside the area! He has to be first choice for me now.

Really happy for Adebayor too. He's had a lot of stick recently, particularly from Gooners, but he stuck to his task admirably today and deservedly got his goal. In terms of technique he looks like a donkey next to Henry, but he has a grit and willingness to mix it up that our captain usually lacks. He gives a different option upfront and I'm glad AW played him as a lone striker. I think he's much better suited to the role than any of our other forwards.

Is 4-5-1 the long awaited plan B from Arsenal? Here's hoping.

Rosicky looks like your answer to Wright-Philips (who originally should have gone to Arsenal). Thats one signing I really envy.

I thought you would have figured that out when it got you to the CL final last season.

but guys i was looking at your Results so far and i just saw you have won 4 TIMes against zagreb away and home ,hambourg, and today man u and it was without henry!!!are you sur you still need henry,??

My question was this"Can we put it in the net?" It doesn`t matter how good we play for obvious reason scoring is are biggest mountain to climb.Today was a victory for us in a shocking way because Manutd had by far the great start which everyone thought they will be shite w/o there top goal scorer.I imagine ManUtd did not see us like a threat...Fab the pizza man delivered a hot pepperoni to crazy legs Adebayor after taking the ball from C.Ronaldo.Please! don`t let Silva take the penalty ever again.

notice how Manutd clears the ball and passes (loooong ball) and we clear it with grace by short passes to let you know we have control.I have to be fair...I don`t watch Manutd alot I hope they don`t play like that all the time. How can they win matches? with NO ball control it amazes me.

Will ManUtd be last season Charlton ? Remember they had a great start and beat Chelsea :-k

Update:Reyes was amazing today causing havoc evening scoring a direct kick 25 yds. I can`t get use to it(Reyes & Ruud hugging)anyways R.Madrid should give us more for Reyes(he was that amazing)

Remove your lips from are arses!we get it...take are poster out of your closet and hang it.;)

joking

Playing us suits you I think, as we will go for it and leave space, but a lot of teams will put up a brick wall against you. That's where you're problems might be. As for us. A bad day at the office. We'll be back.

That's exactly right, if we play against a team that wants to play football we have no problems it's just when a team stick 11 men behind the ball we can't break them down.

Have to say that though that I thought that was a very good performance and gives a 100% win ratio in games without Henry this season compared to 0% with him.

Great finish by Ade and that save from Lehmann was out of this world, definitely the most inform keeper around at the moment.

How good would that Rosicky strike have been if it went in!

Still all we need to do now is win that game in hand and we're 4 points behing Utd and Chelsea, suddenly the dark clouds seem to be parting a bit.

This is my first post since the game as I have been out celebrating our win which was well deserved. If United had got anything out of that game then we would have been hard done by.

Well played boys, proved all the doubters wrong. Adebayor has come in for some stick this season but he showed that he is an intelliegent player who can play the lone striker role effectively. I would prefer to see him up top in a 4-5-1 with Henry on the left side, we would look more potent like that.

Fair play to Alucard for holding his hands up, a lesson learned there me thinks. Maybe think before you type next time. That don't mean my signature is changing though.

I just think he needs reminding of his stupidity!

Nice V-sign though! Well spotted. I like the guy with his head in his hands, top right.

Forgot to say what a save by Lehmann, top, top, player!
