Still stinks in here.

You can dress it up how you like, neither were pens. You keep mentioning Toure and his "save" last season but you have had some dodgy stuff in the last couple of games against us at OT so don't come over all high and mighty. If you want me to remind you of your dodgy decisions in your favour then I will but I don't think I need to do I?

cmon dude let it go, all the big clubs have had some dodgy decisions, none of our teams have won trophies on just skill alone...

Absolutely. When you're on top, all the little decisions seem to you your way. See Chelsea now for further examples.

I think Sunday will be an interesting game. I'm sure there's lingering resentment between Wenger and Fergie, but much of the spite from this tie has died away now in my opinion. No more Vieira vs Keane, Van Nistelrooy vs Keown, Cole vs Ronaldo, Winterburn vs McClair (who remembers that one?!).

Our defence will be patchy if Kolo's out. I imagine Wenger will stick with Hoyte at LB with Gallas and Djourou in the centre. Having said that Man Yoo's midfield is a bit threadbare now with Giggs and Park out. Maybe Baptista will give us the edge in the middle of the park.

Unfortunately, I think United will have too much fire power for this inexperienced Arsenal side. Expect to see Ronaldo on the right wing to exploit the oft happless Hoyte. Gallas is gonna have to pick up a lot of pieces if last night is anything to go by. If Henry is out, I'd be tempted to try this:

-----------Lemon--------------

-----Djourou-----Gallas-------
Eboue--------------------Hoyte

------------Gilberto----------
-------Fabregas---------------
----------------Baptista------
Rosicky
--------------------van Persie

---------Adebayor-------------

If Utd are lacking in midfield then I think we should do our best to exploit that and employ Baptista in an advanced role to harass Carrick and Fletcher.

Adebayor holds the ball up well and could be a handful for Silvestre, although probably not Rio. He is strong in possession and could win headers and knock downs for Baptista, Fab and Rosicky. RVP plays a wider role for Holland and I think he could be deadly cutting in for Arsenal. He's rapid, can deliver a good cross and needs more time to run on the ball IMO.

Rosicky is good enough to play any attacking position across midfield and in my book offers a lot more than Hleb, who'll be useless dribbling into an organised Man Utd defence. A bit different I know but on paper I reckon it could work.

P.S. What's that Clipse album like Vaniz?

Vann...I have got over it mate. But old vampire chops brings up Toure's handball like its just Utd that get the wrong end of the ref! This was even in a game that you won!

Totally agree with you though, when its going for you, its going for you. There is always so much hype and banter when we play, which is part of the enjoyment for me, but I just hope that the best team wins on Sunday and that there are no dodgy, game changing decisions that cloud the result.

Oh and Joystick...Winterburn v McClair... WInterburn was out of order when he was in McClair's face after that penalty miss....but still funny though.

I remember McClair picking up winterburn off the floor by his shirt collar and threatening him.

Henry and RVP doubtful for OT

Arsenal.com are reporting that Henry and RVP are doubtful but Toure will play. Glad Kolo will be there, Hoyte would have got murdered by Ronaldo. Further forward though it may mean Baptista plays up top but I would prefer to see him in the middle of the park exerting his authority on the midfield.

So be it. its boring around here anyway, so I thought I'd liven it up with a bit of thrash talk before the game.

Arsenal have reportedly held discussions with a consortium regarding a possible takeover of the club.

The Sun claims that the 'unofficial talks' took place in June. Although the group was dissuaded by a reputed asking price of £350m, it is believed that a new consortium, possibly backed by a Russian magnate, has expressed a tentative interest in buying the North London club.

The newspaper quotes 'an insider' claiming: "There is an awful lot of activity going on behind the scenes at the moment, some serious discussions."

'One analyst said the recent Brazil-Argentina match at Arsenal's new Emirates stadium was an obvious way in which to showcase the club and its assets - and it is no coincidence that Boris Berezovsky, the football-loving Russian billionaire exiled in Britain, was among those at the match,' the paper adds.

I really hope this isn't true! :(

Why go through all this hassle to amke ourselves a self sufficient club to then let some Russian money ruin our soul!

I truely hope not either! We have passion, we have fans, we got a great manager, we got the players, we don't need these scummy oligarchs!

One point though is that it's in the Sun. Almost as reputable as Martin Lipton in The Mirror!

VP and Henry injured and out....right up until kickoff I fear. Wouldn't surprise me at all, kind of hope they play.

Should be a good match, I think United will struggle a bit with Arsenals pace, especially if they use a midfield of Carrick, Scholes and Ole/Fletcher. Rooney was pretty poor by his standards against Celtic, so I fear he'll either get a goal or get sent off. Also think Arsenals luck is just about ready to start coming back, and a team is due for a drubbing, though can't see that being United. Predict 2-2, Rooney/Ronaldo, VP/Eboue (random I know, but I can see it happening)

Gunners chiefs deny talk of takeover

The parent company of Arsenal have categorically denied an approach has been made to take over the Premiership club.

There had been suggestions of a £350million price-tag on a controlling interest in the Gunners, who last season reached the Champions League final and have just moved into their new 60,000-seater Emirates Stadium.

However, a club statement this morning read: 'Arsenal Holdings plc has noted the speculation in the media that it has received an approach or has been in talks which may lead to an offer for the company.

'The board of directors confirms that it is not and has not been in any such talks and has not received any such approach.'

Arsenal play Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday where they will go in search of a first Premiership win of the season.

I'm just curious to know what the excuse is going to be from the arsenal camp after the match. The referee, the linesman, pitch, the announcer(wenger has actually complained about this one already Wenger said: "I was very annoyed about the constant announcements. We are not on the radio here. There are people who want to watch a football game without a debate going on. It's really disturbing. I don't know if it puts the players off but for people watching it's disturbing. You wonder why there's one guy reading a book up there on his own and nobody is interested in what he says."
),Will it be the weather, a cake/pizza being thrown, the dugout?.

Good win for Arsenal, I thought they thoroughly deserved it. Hate to say it but United were piss poor. Evra put in probably the worst performance I've ever seen a preimership player contribute. John O'shea was pants.

Will say that Fabregas definitely took ronaldo's leg out to win the ball that led to the goal, but sitll, wasn't huge danger and no complaints given the other 2 virtually 1on1s that arsenal didn't score.

We'll have to see later in the season at Emirates when Rooney isn't s**t and Henry's back!

At least some enterainment after that piss poor pool cheslki match!
