Arsenal Thread

“By the time we were walking down that extendable plastic tunnel everyone was having a go at each other. There were shouts of ‘you fucking cheats’and players were running into a jostling huddle where the narrow tunnel opens into a wider mouth. I was jammed in the middle. I heard the boss [Arsene Wenger] hammering Ferguson; incandescent French, verbally sparring with the bullish Scotsman.”

Ashley has quite a good vocabulary for a footballer and a great writing style, very professional!

'Incandescent french, verbally sparring with the bullish Scotsman'

He should quit footy and write some fiction (arguably he already has!)

What a chump, I hate this little prick! as if Ashley would write like this, as if Ashley could even write!

I hope Bridge becomes the number 1 left back at Chelsea that would be very funny!

Could you change your avatar Iceman, my work is suffering

Yeah cause I iamgine it is really difficult to get distracted at 16:20 in the afternoon! ;)

Anyone going to venture some predictions for tonight. I predict a start for Theo, maybe!

Can see us getting a 2-0!

Yours ain't much better!

2-1 to us. RVP and Rosicky scoring the goals. That will set us up nicely for Sundays trip to the theatre of muppets.

RVP is the new nickname for Gilberto? I think we need to find the muppet section for you at the Emirates.

Dermot, I think Clockender was making a prediction and not reporting as it was posted before the game started, so it was actually very close.

Aren't the muppets originally from America? Anyone here from America? Dermot?

Dermot, you pissed again?

Well my prediction was close, especially if RVP had scored instead of been fouled. Anyway, was happy withthe performance and we can approach Sundays match with renewed confidence.

I hope Toure is fit for Sunday, Hoyte at LB at Old Trafford is enough to give any gooner the runs.

I know, I really worry about that. Ronaldo will tear him to pieces, it's like having Stepanov's back!

Yeah, even though he has stated as wanting to cement the LB role for himself, i'm still not convinced with Hoyte. I'd rather see Flamini there, who did a brilliant job. If Toure is back, then we'll be ok with Gallas. Thought Djourou played really really well.

Weird for me to say this, but i enjoy the team playing without Henry. He tends to take the plaudits, and so his should, but i think the front two of Persil and Ade play well together.

p.s, the Avtar stays for one more day... she's too hot. i'll change it tonight for another one of her snaps! :)

Well arsenal prove once again they are the masters of deceit. A great convincing dive by Van rapist. I'm just waiting to see what new trick arsenal will conjure up at Old trafford this weekend. Maybe it will be a repeat of the toure save, or just a plain holding the face play act routine to get someone sent off which is always a classic.

Does it smell in here all of a sudden?

Yep is that smell that we get in here quite often called Alucard bullshit.

After the penalty United got yesterday how can he complain about ours!

lol, I knew someone was going to bring up the penalty United won last night. But anyone knows it was no dive as giggs injury proves.

Even Ruud Gullit(a football expert) said Van Rapist dived for the penalty and that it was unfair for the keeper to be dismissed.

Btw great strike by Rosicky.

Yeah but he wasn't fouled and I didn't see him tell the ref it wasn't cheating. I think RVP did dive and it does annoy me but by Giggs accepting the pen he also cheated.

have to admit though if it wasn't for there keeper you would have scored quite a few more and I only saw the odd few saves as I flicked over every now and again.

Yeah true. But with giggs the keeper did make contact with him with his hands but I admit giggs did make a meal of it. With VR he hit his leg on purpose into the goalkeepers hand to make out the keeper brought him down.

Still stinks in here.

You can dress it up how you like, neither were pens. You keep mentioning Toure and his "save" last season but you have had some dodgy stuff in the last couple of games against us at OT so don't come over all high and mighty. If you want me to remind you of your dodgy decisions in your favour then I will but I don't think I need to do I?

It was a very soft penalty i have to admit, but there was minimal contact, but before the fall. You have to remember the speed at which it happened and how quickly the referee must make a decision. If he was in doubt, he shouldn't have given it.

We are lucky with hindsight to be able to view the slow motion replay and view the minmal contact, and i put minimal in quotes, and i'm sure that if the referee was able to see it, then he wouldn't give it the second time around.

Richard Keys makes me sick the smug f*cker! What were Richard Keys at Sky's comments when Arsenal lost 2-0 to United? Oh yes, "Campbell should know better, than to stick his leg out near a player of Rooney's calibre." What shite!

If it's not a English player, then the media (read Murdhoch) just turns on them, but if it's Rooney, Gerrard or Owen, then its winning a penalty.

The FA want to rid the game of racism, but it's not about black or white anymore, it's about geographical xenophobia. The 'us' against 'them' mentality that is rife in the media perpetuates to every iota of our communities. It's not like we're the British Empire anymore! It's a game of football for christ sake! We all play it!

Hypocritical cunts.
