It was a very soft penalty i have to admit, but there was minimal contact, but before the fall. You have to remember the speed at which it happened and how quickly the referee must make a decision. If he was in doubt, he shouldn't have given it.
We are lucky with hindsight to be able to view the slow motion replay and view the minmal contact, and i put minimal in quotes, and i'm sure that if the referee was able to see it, then he wouldn't give it the second time around.
Richard Keys makes me sick the smug f*cker! What were Richard Keys at Sky's comments when Arsenal lost 2-0 to United? Oh yes, "Campbell should know better, than to stick his leg out near a player of Rooney's calibre." What shite!
If it's not a English player, then the media (read Murdhoch) just turns on them, but if it's Rooney, Gerrard or Owen, then its winning a penalty.
The FA want to rid the game of racism, but it's not about black or white anymore, it's about geographical xenophobia. The 'us' against 'them' mentality that is rife in the media perpetuates to every iota of our communities. It's not like we're the British Empire anymore! It's a game of football for christ sake! We all play it!
Hypocritical cunts.
