An extract on Football 365 about how rubbish fans day was

Even throughout 80-odd minutes of medocrity preceeding the Vieira sending-off at United v Arsenal the United faithful kept the atmosphere fiery and above all loud! The Arsenal fans weren't too bad that day, although the monotony of their entire song repertoire (all two of them) quickly got boring (the one that goes "Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal etc" and the stolen "Vieira woah") - I guess there was a lot of room on the Arsenal FC songsheet handed out on Sunday!

So come on Arsenal fans, do your team justice! Surely one of the best (but most indisciplined) teams ever to step foot inside the home dressing room at Highbury (of course United always use the away one) deserves a little more.
Ben Packer, Manchester

Can somebody tell me where the Viera song was stolen from?

gypsy king's volare........

Saha scored on his full debut.
Scott Parker had a great debut (defensively).
Reyes scored an own goal in his full debut.

So far its, Saha 1, Parker 0, Reyes -1.

Who will make the biggest impact this weekend?

No I thought the manu fan was trying to insist we stole it offanother team. Bloody cheek, they use the same song for forlan ;)

Reyes didn't have a great game (as well as the own goal), he did look dangerous when he run at the defenders though, it was just a lack of power in his finishing. Not sure if we should or shouldn't have had a pen but it definately wasn't a bloody corner. Still semis is the best we've done in the premier league reserve cup for a long time.

Well, he is off to a scoring start . . . .16 million well spent, for the Boro :D
You gotta feel sorry for the boy, how embarassing for both Arsenal and Reyes.

Its not embrassing at all mate, at least we went out to Premiership opposition... ;)

I think he did well considering it was his first start, he will take time to adapt. He was playing up front, so the fact that he tracked all the way back and attempted to clear on the edge of his own box has to be applauded. Who gives a f*ck if it went in for an OG? I certainly don't. The boy is absolute quality. It will be there for all to see when he shoots us to Premiership glory!!

Amazes me how that was given as a corner. Wasn't exactly a penalty either. Reyes jumped over him. Very unlucky for Reyes, the own goal. I just hopes his confidence isn't effected. He was actually sick before the match and the decision to play him was last minute. Anyway, it would have been great for the youngsters to go win the CC, but getting to the Semis is great. Good luck to both Bolton and Boro in the final. Well, no Boro till next season. I wonder how it'll feel.

Maybe we'll have to try and sort out a friendly at some point

Well reyes will be dissapointed at first but surely he'll realise its only the carling cup we got KO not the champions league cup. His english should be good enough to tell the difference between the two anyway. At least our new boy was tracking back in defense, showing signs he's ready to work hard for the team as well.

reyes, everyone here, is using his pics as avatar, is he any good? spanish player? striker? how many goals he scored last year? how old is he? could be better than henry?

Good yes, a super talent. Spanish yes. Winger/support striker. A decent amount of goals, but he isn't supposed to be the goal scorer. 20 years old.
Don't think he'll be better than Henry, I hope he will though(and that he'll go to Juve ;)).

It's actually Dean Martin's Volare, Gipsy Kings later covered the song. That Manutd fan probably thinks they thought of it first with Forlan. ;)

Wolves on Saturday.. should be an easy one but we better watch out for Miller.

Still waiting for Reyes' first goal and after that own goal on Tuesday he needs to get one to boost his confidence back up again. Of course it'll be time for Henry to work his magic again too :D

I'm getting really pissed off with all these headlines and news reports saying that Reyes' own goal made us lose the game against boro. They are forgetting the simple fact that we were 2-1 down on aggregate when the own goal was scored so we still needed to score to force extra time (although I was led to believe that away goals counted as double in this competition) so even if it finished 1-1 on the night we still would have gone out!
I bet if Parnaby had got the final touch then there wouldn't have been any headlines saying "Late Parnaby goal sends Boro through" but they still managed to have headlines like "Late Reyes own goal sends Arsenal out" which is a load of bollocks!
These fuckin' journalists need to get there facts straight before they write these headlines, it does my fuckin' head in!

did anyone see the topic new arsenal home shirt ? is it true that thats your shirt for next season ?

No way you seriously cant believe that to be the new arsenal home top. Just look how far out the nike sign is and it's modelled by a fat bloke for starters...If it is, nike need to sack their design team !

yea its been discussed before, it wasnt even on arsenal.com was it? whatever, it looks roughly the same with some misplaced symbols and such

All the Arsenal strikers who have made a great impact in the past few years have taken a while to glow. Including Pires and Ljungberg.

When Bergkamp first came to Arsenal, he didn't shine much.. until he scored his first goal.. can't remember who it was against now but I do remember it was good and it wasn't on his first few games either. After that, he kicked ass.

Henry.. he didn't start off well either.. although Reyes scored an own goal and all the others didn't; who knows? He might even end up being better than Henry. Though, I highly doubt that.

Wiltord too, I think he got off to a slightly better start, but still not that great.

I think his first goal was against Southampton, away. It was a very good goal, and I think it was similar to Bergkamp's first.

Alright lads, I know its bad, I apologise in advance but look who I seen the other day....Its:

BIG THREE WARNED BY UEFA

The Premiership's big three teams have been warned they must release players for Fifa's centenary match in May, just two days before the FA Cup final.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all battling to reach the Millennium Stadium showpiece, although one of the London pair will be knocked out in the fifth round.

Any of the clubs' plans for the May 22 final, though, could be wrecked by call-ups for a Fifa celebration match between Brazil and France in Paris on May 20.

Fifa deputy general secretary Jerome Champagne has already made the case clear by affirming any players chosen for the game must be present in the French capital.

Champagne's sentiments have been echoed by Uefa chief executive Lars Christer Olsson, who insists The Football Association have been aware of the centenary fixture for a long time, ever since the introduction of a harmonised international calendar in 2000.

"It has been agreed to by everyone and so it should be stuck to by them," said Olsson.

"Of course, the English clubs should release their players if they are selected.

Manchester United's Mikael Silvestre and Kleberson, Arsenal's Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires and Gilberto Silva, along with Chelsea ace Claude Makelele could all be affected by the game.

I think it's a joke. They surely know what the English calandar is but they still arrange a meaningless game which could effect a teams hopes of winning a trophy.

Barcelona weigh up Edu move

Edu's recent eye-catching performances for Arsenal have alerted Barcelona, according to The Sun.

The Gunners will reportedly be offered £5million for the Brazilian in the summer.

Edu could replace Edgar Davids while Patrick Kluivert continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal.

Nah, Gilberto's a fine player. how can you argue when we're sitting pretty on top of the league? The fact of the matter is, Edu is just better, and I've said it numerous times before. I apologize if I sound like a broken record, but it's true. He's done consistently well for us, and even when he isn't getting a run in the side, he gives it his all. Great guy.

I read the transfer rumour about Barca in The Sun this morning. I guess it was inevitable after the other rumours of signing Pique.

I really hope he doesn't leave though, but you have to think it's a possibility unless he's given a good run in the side, which he wholeheartedly deserves.

No I wouldn't blame him either. When he plays he puts in good performances contributes goals and assists and a run in the first team would I think maybe give him a chance at his first Brazil cap.

He deserves to play for Brazil but Gilberto and Emerson (of Roma) are the two people ahead of him in that position. A greater run in the side would help, for sure.

Then again, I wouldn't want another player travelling half the way across the world for a friendly.
