Love the story about the Kenyan sensation Oliech who wants to play for Arsenal. The stuff he says about Chelsea is great.

Great stuff! :salute: Showing total admiration

"I definitely want to go to England, and to play for Arsenal," he says, "because I like their football". When the interviewer asked if he'd like to play for Chelsea (apparently there were Chelsea scouts sniffing about), he thought long and hard before agreeing that that would be good, because "...Chelsea is in London so then I could talk to the Arsenal coach and go and play for them".

I saw a little bit of this guy Oliech on BBC's African Cup of Nations show. He's got good dribbling skills but terrible finishing. He scuffs nearly all of his shots and he's very raw.

I've seen the same, pure strength and pace and some good skills but some of his efforts are below Forlan standard.

Henry goal - WOW what a bullet. James could only admire the view of it going in. Reyes a great 20 minute introduction to the premiership. This kid is going to be class!

Somewhere in the depths of my conscience I felt sorry for siddy yesterday, they gave arsenal a run for money in the 2nd half and until Henry bust the onion bag it was pretty tight.

The ref was pretty dodgy, you could almost see the O2 on his shirt ;)

And the kid looks like he'll be a handful, once him and Henry get used to playing together it'll be a leathel combo.

I don't think it was as tight as a gnats arse cheeks. Henry missed the open goal goal in the first half and we missed a couple of good chances in the second half (actually they were good saves). As for the dodgy ref, the incident leading up to the first goal was never a foul and the second on fowler was disputable.

I could see it quite clearly ;).

You dont think it was as tight as an a gnats arse cheek??

WTF?

Well siddy had more chances than arsenal so they gave you a good run.

As for the ref well he didnt give the ones you mentioned but funnily enough he blew for arsenal for two similar incidents.

I didnt think siddy was gonna win anyway but until the 2nd goal arsenal didnt look comfortable.

Tight as a gnats arse cheeks, now that s tight!!!! :D

As for us not being comfortable I agree, when Reyes and Henry missed good chances my old man said they'll go and let one in now. Fortunately enough Henry pulled one out of the bag.

lol that is tight!!

I fancied siddy to score aswell, like you said after chances had gone wasted the law of football states that the other team will probley go up the other end and get one.

Henry smashed that thru the bag , I dont know about pulling one out, dont why James bothered diving for that....

What amazed me was how he hit it with his in-step but it bent out as if it had been hit with the outside of the boot.

just want to say... if you lot keep playing like this, im afraid, you would go undefeated for the rest of the season ... hopefully we can take you gooners at highbury ;)

It will probably be the title decider yet again. I'm actually more worried about the game at the bridge than against you lot.

I reckon you Gooners are storming in the Premiership this season (did I say that?) and it could well be your year. Because we have re-shaped our squad, it means we are not being as consistent as United fans are used to, great for the rest of the football world. We need players to settle, Ferdinand was playing the best football of his career as he left and Brown looks nervous. The Goons haven`t reshaped too much, they all seem to know what they are doing. You will have problems if Mr. Henry is added to the injury list, but you don`t need me telling you that. So, I think Arsenal may well do it. I hope I`m wrong. As for your `keeper and Ashley Cole, well, I can`t stand either of them. Cole doesn`t know how to defend or tackle (bit ironic for a defender!) and Lehmann was described by the Guardian newspaper as "A cry-baby".
I was talking to a good friend in the pub last night, an obsessed Gooner, goes to almost every game, and he was saying how jealous most of the Arsenal fans are still jealous that United won the Champions League title in `99, and wants Arsenal to go full-steam ahead for it this year, to be taken seriously in Europe etc. He doesn`t give a crap about any of the other trophies, he wants the jewel-in-the-crown. I told him to get ready to be disapointed, no English team is taking that home this season . . . 8)

Well we'll beat CV (whave to watch out for Edu though, star player), and who knows after then? :clown:

Eh? Edu, star player? Since when? Henry is the gooners main man . . .

I have re-read this post 5 times and have yet to make sense of it. I am going to stop now.

The Edu at Celta Vigo, mate.

Edu at Arsenal's still class, mind.

I hope Bentley doesn't think that Reyes arrival means the end of him. He (Reyes) has, though, potentially stolen Bentley's favourite position (behind the striker, central position).

I think two of three things will happen:-

1.) Bentley will be further moulded as a left winger (even though he's better right now as a No. 10)
2.) The reverse will happen (Reyes becoming the winger). Highly unlikely though.

I just hope this signing doesn't stop home-grown youth development at Arsenal in it's tracks. :l

Do they mean on loan, surely they wouldn't try to buy him?

I'd like to see Bentley moulded in the centre making runs forward and Viera playing the holding role. Sort of like that ginger bloke at United.

Guys, who needs youngsters when you have Parlour and Keown in the ranks . . . .
