yeah plus ya other players are quite young too, henry mid 20's, cole early 20's and toure is pretty young. could be that ya investment in youth will bring the CL to london!!!!

Don't see why not, on our day we're a match for anyone

Yeah, I hope the settling in procedure goes all well. He's a Seville boy through and through so it'll probably tough at first. Probably not the most pleasant time to come to England when he's been enjoying sunny highs but I have no qualms that Wenger and co will do a fantastic job all round and any conversion, in terms of his position on the field, he may face, Reyes, Arsenal (& Spain) will benefit from.

Just curious, but when was the last time Arsenal had an Argentinian in thier squad? I would imagine it was Nelson Vivas.

Yep and if they all play like him for us I don't want anymore

Heh, I know. :D I'm just clutching on straws here.

My father was half-English and his father was a huge supporter of Arsenal so the tradition ran through the family. So along with the red and white of Riverplate, we also have Arsenal. It would be a dream come true for me if Arsenal did sign an Argentine and he performed. Mind you, not that he should replace anyone, as I'm content with the squad at the moment (excluding Gilberto).

Say what you like about Gilberto but he's a good ball winner in midfield and he can score the odd goal aswell, and let's not forget his immaculate disciplinary record, which is unheard of at Arsenal. I still think Edu should get a chance in his place though. ;)

Edu has had his chance in that position and, to me, he has proven he can play consistently well there and he always seems to pop in with some important goals (vs Chelsea, this season - vs United in the FA Cup last season) Lucky goals, however. ;)

I strongly beleive he should have taken Gilberto's place some time ago, even though I have nothing against Gilberto, just that Edu seems a better player, and probably should have broken into the national team too. Still, that said, it's probably better for us that we don't have two of our players travelling half wasy across the world to play friendlies. ;)

Reyes, leaving Seville

WHY OH WHY did i choose Highbury when i could've linked up with Helder Postiga and Darren Anderton at WHL?

If he ever thought of saying that it would only be sarcasm and they would be tears of laughter ;)

Because if Reyes, i'm starting to like arsenal more; something I thought would never happen(if Arsenal would just dump Vieira, Cambell and A.Cole I might actually like Arsenal).

Ah, come off it, look at his eyes, just LOOK at his eyes. The Man City Vs Spurs FA Cup game was on the airport screens, he's dying to come help Postiga out. Our Pleaty can pull anyone when wearing that dick-flasher's duffel coat

What do you have against those three?

The champions league 'will' end up at Highbury! We've got a good mix of youth and experience, with some great youth coming through.

Go Bentley, it's your bithday, gonna party like it's your birthday...

I think they're well overrated and uncharismatic.

I don't see how you can say that of Campbell and Viera, they have been consistently good for a few seasons now and a for Ashley Cole I wouldn't say he's overated. The English media continually question his defensive capabilities.

Not sure why, the stats say we're pretty good at the back. Not forgetting our all round good behaviour this season!

Best defensive record in the prem and last time I looked top 3 or 5 in the fair play table. You know as soon as we get one more red all you'll hear is, "it's another red card for wenger". Gets on my tits :x

Vieira, overrated? Seriously? He's easily one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, and would be guarranteed a place in my world XI. As for charisma, he's oozing with it. One of the most loved captains at Highbury.
Campbell's an otustanding defender, one of the best in the Prem, and he would be in good steed in any other league, too, I imagine. Not one that I see many people rave about all the time, so I couldn't see him being classed as overrated. The same for Cole, although I can understand the charisma argument there. Probably not adored much outside of Arsenal & England fans.

I'd second that statement!

These are a comparison of the OPTa stats between these 2:

1192747.jpg

Player Jose Reyes Louis Saha
Club Sevilla Fulham
Mins on pitch 6105 5496
Goals 21 26
Mins/goal scored 290.7 211.4
Shots on target 79 81
Shots off target 84 100
Accuracy 48.5% 44.8%
Conversion 12.9% 14.4%
Goal assists 12 7

Excuse the poor layout, I did try to space it better but it doesn't show.

Will his one match ban from spain be carried forward... if so we'll have to wait until next Tuesday to see him in action instead of Sunday v Man City :(

New Arsenal shirt?! Are you havin' a laugh?!
Don't be alarmed, but this is rumoured to be the new shirt for next season. It's probably not true and I hope it isn't cos it looks quite shit to be honest! I mean what's with the waywood nike logo and I don't think the crest should be in the centre of the shirt anyways! let's just hope it's just a rumour and nothing more!
