Seville aren't in the game, so naturally, he isn't either. Check out the stats and appearance thread in the Editing section for Reyes stats.

He's only 20........why does he look older than Bergkamp?

Hehe, I thought that too.

"When I go down it is not theatre its for real" he says, which will be a welcome dose of realism in comparison to the antics of United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

"The defenders give you stick and say nothing while doing it so I pick myself up off the grass and, next time, give them one back.

"Does it hurt? Yes, sometimes it hurts like a bastard - I'm not made of industrial rubber.

Thats from the evening standard website. Sounds like he could teach Pires and Christiano a lesson.

Reyes looks a great player in the making, although I do agree it's a lot of money to play on someone so young.

Henry to Real?

FD

Apparently the Reyes fee is not as high as has been reported. This is from Arsenal.com:

"The initial consideration is €15 million (£10.5m), of which €10 million is payable (75 apps) immediately (6.9m). Additional consideration of up to €9.5 million may become payable, subject to various appearance and performance criteria being satisfied. Arsenal does not expect any of the above sums, other than the initial €10 million fee, to become payable in its current financial year."

So in conclusion, he will cost at least £10,5m and at most £17m.

He's meant to be the fastest player in Spain. Not sure how they worked that out, asked everyone to line up and sprint?

they did that in shoot a few years ago for the entire english league, cant remember who was the quickest player tho, some 2nd div player prob

That was a load of mince, none of the big players would compete. When I remember reading that, Chris Armstrong was the fastest and Nicky Summerbee has the hardest shot.

FD

yeah something like that. Carlton Palmer was in it, how much bigger can you get than taht? ;)

I know that individual clubs do their own seperate sprint tests, so they could take the clubs times and find a winner from there. Wouldn't really be conclusive though.

FD I think this is looking a strong possiblity, it usually takes a big signing to trigger things off...

Madrid are seriously skint (as usual) and with Ronaldo having only one year left on his contract, and no extension being offered, a very big offer from a certain Roman would bankroll Reals move for Henry...

Have you not seen Hill-Woods statement. We aren't short of cash and Henry doesn't want to go. Even the papers aren't really talking about this boring rumour.

You Man United fans really do live in hope don't you, all because for once we've made a big name signing that has totally over shadowed the signing of Saha. Oh how I pity you.

Live in hope, you having a laugh, its only a big deal cos you's are supposed to be skint, other than that most people are more puzzled about the signing than anything, I guarantee that your average gooner hasnt heard of this kid, obviously now everyone and their mama knows everything about reyes but if your honest then last week you wasntthinking about him or anyone else joining Arsenal.

So save ya pity.

And Nicky just cos the papers arent talking about doesnt mean shit, how many papers had linked Reyes with Arsenal??

theres rumours floating around about a Cash + Ronaldo swap deal but like I say its only rumours. For me Henry has said that hes happy at the club and wants to stay and thats good enough for me.

Well if the average gooner hadn't heard of Reyes then I'm not one of them, I've known about him for about 2 years now, and I see him every week on the Spanish League Review on Sky Sports so I know what I'm talking about, and even if some people haven't heard of him, the one thing Arsene Wenger does best is turn good players into world class players. Who had heard of Patrick Vieira before he joined Arsenal and although I'd known of Thierry Henry ever since I saw him playing for Monaco in a European tie in the mid 90's, not many people new of him but he's turned into the best player in the world in many peoples eyes. Also, I hadn't heard of Robert Pires before Euro 2000, in fact the only proven top class players we've signed in the last 10 years are probably only Dennis Bergkamp and Marc Overmars.
Reyes is already top class and he's only 20! So God know's what heights he can achieve at Arsenal!
So I'm just gonna leave that pity out there just incase you reconsider. ;)

well said mate
if anyones took the risk its manyoo imo
reyes is an undeniable talent and seems to go about the game the right way, ill admit saha is a good player but i know who id rather have
saha cost 12.8 million and Reyes deal was 10 - 11 million up front and anotther 6 - 7 million based on goals and success in europe.
manyoo pay over the odds and arsenal pay a very good price for one of the worlds brightest talents

Ah, that's a huge weight off my shoulders. :)

I'm still getting around the fact that we've bought two of La Liga's brightest prospects in less than a year. I really believe Cesc and Reyes could be a defining force in years to come.

With tremendous talents like Aliadiere, Bentley, Clichy, Senderos, Quincy and of course, Reyes & Cesc in the squad, it's great to see Wenger is building a squad for the furture. A squad, which, could very well be toppling the big guns of Europe for some time to come.

Worst case scenario - Reyes does a first year Diouf. ;)

I red that Lauren already knows him cause he visits seville a lot and obviously Cesc is Spanish so hopefully he'll have no problems settling in.

yeah plus ya other players are quite young too, henry mid 20's, cole early 20's and toure is pretty young. could be that ya investment in youth will bring the CL to london!!!!
