Yeah i heard that commentary Jamie! That was awesome, so was Pires' backflick for Bently

Anyone got a video of the Henry goal?
Or are there gonna be any repeats of the match on Sky? Cuz I missed it.

I just saw the goal. It was pretty good.
I scored a goal exactly like that on PES4 a while back. It looked 100% identical.

First thanks for the answer. I found this: http://www.arseweb.com/other/record-breakers.html
but it seems that this data is from 2003/2004 season, and i want to know wich of these records has been beaten by Chealse in the last 2004/2005 season? Thanks.

Arsenal close to fee for Baptista
Arsenal are close to agreeing a fee of over £17.5m for Julio Baptista, according to Sevilla's president.

I still feel like we will get Baptista even with the news of Real Madrid being interested. i do not see how he would love to join a team that has a player like Michael Owen coming off the bench. He will be stupid to think his World Cup chances will improve there.

Fuck him, if he doesn't think that Wenger can help him and he would rather go to Madrid than come to Highbury let him do so, I don' want players that come to Arsenal as their second or third choice.

All he needs to do is look at Edu. During the unbeaten season he became a great player and broke into the Brazil team from nowhere. If Baptista is already in the Brazil squad I can't see how Wenger couldn't help him.

Sevilla agree beast fee

Real Madrid have agreed a €20 million (£13.8 million) fee, rising to €24.5 million for Sevilla striker Julio Baptista.

Sevilla confirmed they had accepted an offer for the Brazilian ace, who has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.

Baptista was interested in a move to the Premiership giants, but preferred to remain in Spain for the additional year required to secure an EU passport.

Sevilla could have been forced to accept a reduced offer for the 23-year-old's services next summer and have decided to cash in on their prized asset. "The only logical decision was to sell him," club president Jose Maria del Nido told the club's official website.

"Julio's representatives made it clear the player wanted to leave and they explained the new Fifa regulations coming into force after July 1, 2006 that would affect the relations between clubs and players.

"So it was the obvious decision to let him go." Baptista, who is expected to sign a five-year deal at El Santiago Bernabeu, will be unveiled by Real on Monday providing he passes a routine medical.

Wenger's not going to be a happy man! Maybe you could go and get Robinho now!

Robinho would kick ass at Arsenal. I hope they dont get him for obvious reasons.

What a tosser, I think he was after that move all along.

I hope we sign someone soon as I don't think we have the cover in the middle.

Wenger: Julio was a priority

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed Julio Baptista was one of the club's top summer targets.

The Brazil forward, who was strongly linked with a move to The Gunners, is set to complete a €20 million move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Following Arsenal's 1-0 win over Ajax in the Amsterdam Tournament the French tactician revealed Baptista was high on the club's shopping list.

"I'm an optimist. For every player you miss it's an opportunity for a young player," said Wenger to Sky Sports.

"The good side is it will give a chance to the young players. He [Baptista] was, if not, our main target, but you have to accept that.

"We're not desperate. We wanted one player who could be a plus, a real plus, not just a good player.

"We wanted someone who could really give us more - or nobody."

Saw the interview after the game, he also said that Pires could be an alternative in the middle of the park because he's a 'very good fotball player who can play anywhere on the pitch', but he added that he is first and foremost an offensive player and he'd have to play backtrack more and that that's the luxury of pre-season, that you can try stuff out.

Wenger is so used to not having any money that when he now does, he probably wont spend it.

the thought of pires in the midle worries me, he aint the type of player that is gunna get stuck in or put his foot in for an important but dangerous tackle, i think the departure of vieira will not affect our offensive play as we have enough attackling flare for two teams, but his ability to win the ball and protect our defense can not only be filled by gilberto alone, and i dont think flamini or cesc are mature enough yet, this season might be a rebuilding excercise for the whole side in my opinion which is a shame because it would have been nice to see the trophy back at highbury for the final season

So bascially you dont think Arsenal can win back the title without Vieira?

well taken goal by lupoli today and oh my hleb looks like super buy

some points to consider

pires did jack all in the mid all game he aint a central mid
ebouue is better than lauren need i say more
senderos/toure/lehman still shaky u need cover at the back
bently shud be sold, he is an ok player

finally theirry shud not be the captain it will wear him down, he was doin some mop ups in defense about 3-4 times yes henry taking out trabelsi runs

also he displayed sum brilliant touches

i think the game vs chelsea will say it all for wenger!!!!

I think Campbell will get back in the centre of defence as Senderos is too young to play a a full season he my opinion.

Henry was fantastic yesterday, he looks super fit and showed some great touches.

Hleb did welll although he did waste the ball when trying to take on too many players on a couple of occasions. No Joe Cole's in this team please Alex!

Also good finish by Lupoli, a debate will rage now over who has the best young Italian Arsenal in Lupoli or the Manc's in Rossi!

We never played that well yesterday...we need a proven CMF who can fit well to the way we play.

Also do you lot know we have bought 2 more players....can't remember their names but they had the info on the Sun preview of the new season.

i think we can but only if wenger either finds one of his little gems that no-ones herd of and then becomes an international midfielder, or one of our very young cm has to play the season of their lives, i think vieiras departure leaves to many defensive fragilities that may mean we hav to addopt a "you score 10 and we'l score 11" stratergy ;) , on tonights performance : the game never really sparked to life for me in the first half and we didnt deserve to be one nil down, but bergkamp and ljungberg raised our game, hleb showed flashes of good play but he and reyes need to look up and make a simple pass alot more than they are doing
