Assuming we fill it, our matchday revenue will be among the biggest in Europe and the certainly the biggest in the UK. I read this in one of the Arsenal annual financial reports. The 7000 capacity club level tier alone will bring in nearly £1million a match!! The 150 executive boxes will bring in around £400,000-£500,000 a match. Add on top of the that the rest of the 53,000 seats (average matchday price £40) and this is an extra £2.1million. So our matchday revenue could be in the region of £3.5million a game, thats serious money.

I think the only area we would have problems filling is the club level. I can't see many matchday tickets not being sold.

Club level costs BUCK$! Cheapest seats are £2,750 for a season. Most expensive are the halfway line seats at over £4,000 per season, on a minimum 4 year contract :P

One day...

£3.5million sounds nice but have any of you thought about the costs?
There are much bigger stadiums in the world that would makes more money than that.
If you make £3million a match, it doesnt mean you can afford a Wayne Rooney every 10 games.

I mean, this new stadium looks really nice but it must cost a shit load of money to keep it running for example the pitch maintenance or the huge power bill from all the lighting and what not.

You would definately make more money but dont expect the profits to be huge.

Sow hat we wont make £3 million a game, shit there was me thinking that would be the profit margin.

Thanks for letting me know cause I was walking round in a delusional bubble.

No, it doesn't turn us into Chel$ki overnight but it does give us CONSIDERABLY more financial muscle in the transfer market.

Bearing in mind that Wenger is arguably the best in the world at discovering un-cut diamonds, any rise in funds is next to invaluable. What other clubs buy for £10 million, Wenger finds for £400,000.

eg Del Horno - left back - £10 mill!!!!

Arsene would want a keeper and 2 full backs for that.

It amazes me Senderos only cost £500,000.

I have to give him that. In the past 2 years he's gotten amazing young players for relatively good price.

The best value for money transfer ever was Eric Cantona for £3million.
Also voted as the Premiership's (or was it the world? Cant remember) transfer of the millenium.

Where was this wwww.manutd.com.

£3 million in 93 was a lot of money also. £150,000 now is probably the equivalent of about £20,000 then.

that was 1mill not 3mill and we bought the great dane for £500K...

Looks like Michael Essien is going to Chelsea. Now I'm both an Arsenal fan and from Ghana, and I really can't see how my boy Essien is making a good move. Chelsea have the likes of Makelele, Frank- never miss a game-Lampard, starting with Tiago, Smertin, Parker etc. all tring to get into the center of midfield. Did Chelsea just pick him up because ManU wanted him. Honestly, I'll prefer him at ManU, where he will certainly break in soon, with both Keane and Scholes at the tail end of their careers. If Kleberson could get a game I'm sure he would.
Michael Essien, to me, is a future captain for our national team, judging from the games I've seen, I'd hate it if the momentum of his performances at Lyon is stunted at Chelsea. And doesn't it seem like Chelsea are trying to sabotage ManU's transfer moves? Hope they dont mess with Arsenals'.

Thats certainly the case.
But Arsene is smarter cuz he never makes his transfer list public.

Robinho reveals Gunners talks

Brazilian wonderkid Robinho admits that Arsenal have been in contact with his representatives about a sensational move for the Santos man.

Robinho has long been touted as the next big star to emerge from the historically football rich grounds of Brazil, and both Real Madrid and Chelsea are believed to hold a strong interest.

The 21-year-old has broken in to the Brazilian national setup after consistently dazzling displays for Santos, and has been praised by Pele amongst others for his prodigious technique and ability.

Despite initially remaining cautious about interest from Arsene Wenger's side, Robinho has now conceded that he is in talks with The Gunners and would love to play alongside French star Thierry Henry.

"Arsenal have been in touch with my people in the last few days and they have made me aware of the offer," Robinho told the News of the World.

"I am very proud that they are looking at me because a club like Arsenal doesn't come in for you every day.

"It would be a dream for me to play alongside Thierry Henry, we will continue to talk."

Arsenal will reportedly launch a £14 million bid for his services, and if Robinho makes the move to Highbury he would join the likes of Robin van Persie and Jose Antonio Reyes in a strike-force blessed with fledgling talent.

However, after being strongly linked with a move to sign the talented youngster in the January transfer window, Real Madrid remain at the head of the queue for his prized signature.

like i said in the specualtion thread i doubt hed get a work permit for england so i dont think it will happen!

Madrid is a more attractive team. Plus he has already played at the Bernabeu in that charity match and seemed to enjoy it there.
I'll be shocked if ANY other team signs him.
Unless of course if Abramovich kidnaps his mother...

DD got a passport for Edu, can be done again! ;)

Where would he play tho?
Would he suit us?

Im not gettin ahead of myself, im just sayin it seems a strange type of player to go for.

In strike of course. And he'd definately suit Arsenal. He's the kind of player that would fit into Arsenal set up like a glove on a hand.
He'll be the perfect replacement for Henry in the future too.

Well yeah he plays there too. But like Ronaldinho, he can also play as a second striker.
I've seen him play and he plays like Henry too. He likes to play from a wide position coming in and taking players on with his skill.

But a Robinho to Arsenal deal is one of those that sounds too good to be true. He'll definately go to Real Madrid.

Anyway I cant see Wenger splashing out big like that. I think this Summer he really should spend all the money he has avaiable, coz we clearly need reinforcements. I think he regretted not spending in January.

I'm rather peturbed by this interest in Robinho. Don't you all feel that we need reinforcements in defence and midfield? I dont about u guys but with the manner in which Sol Campbell picks up injuries like one picks up the mail Im really apprehensive about the possibility that should either Kolo or Phil pick up a knock we will be graced by the non-footballing one at some point in the season PS: Pascal Cygan, I mean. Now we also need cover for midfield. A player like Edu needs to be replaced. Preferably one with a left foot like his. I still cant help dreading how much we will miss Edu. He is going to blow up wherever he goes and be a star. I always felt that with a bit more application, he could be more valuable than Gilberto is to us. I really do not feel we need a striker because I firmly believe VanPersie can and will form formidable partnership with Henry. Arsene Wenger needs to reconvert Reyes to a winger and use him as backup to the Heny-Persie strike force. IMO Reyes shouldnt be guaranteed a start, Van Persie should. Can u imagine how easily Henry would be able to get the ball to him right where he needs it. Our first goal against Everton was a prime example of this boys positioning and the potential it holds for a future partnership with Henry. Dennis Bergkamp got the ball on the left flank with Persie running alongside his right. Persie expected a pass then and called for one, yet he unhestitantly and without breaking momentum run ahead to receive a through ball from the Great Dutchman and calmly placed the ball into the bottom left corner.

Sorry for going on and on here guys. Its memorial day weekend here in the States and Im surely not gonna remember a thing come next morning.

You have a fair point but you'll definately need another striker once Bergkamp leaves next season (I mean the season after).

Arsenal do need to look at centre backs imo. Campbell's got at least another 2 seasons of top flight football in him but one more proven talent in the middle of defence would give the squad 4 quality centre backs, and Cygan (joke, he's not THAT bad, his problem is just that he's not that great either).

Also a proper battling midfielder would go down a treat, preferably someone who can also at a stretch play a slightly wider role ala Stevie G. I've said it many times but Javier Mascherano would be awesome for the club.

Finally, probably one attacking mid/striker type player would be perfect eg Robinho. That's blatantly transfer specualtion bullsh*t but he's the kind of player that Wenger loves. Fast, tricky and flexible position-wise. If Reyes is played more as a winger (his best position imo) and Bergkamp is gonna have a less significant role, that only leaves Titi and RVP as first choice strikers. Aliadiere is quality but his future is not settled, and players like Quincy and Lupoli are probably still too young. Therefore one more striker should address the balance.

EDIT: There were stories yesterday re: a swoop for Fernando Torres. He's definately leaving Athletico this summer after they failed to get into Europe, but to Arsenal? He has been a transfer target in the past but he won't be cheap, which would be very unlike Wenger. Im not totally convinced by him, he might wilt a bit in the physical English Prem.
