We'll soon get out of this "blip", and when we do there'll be no looking back.
November always seems to be our poorest month. I saw a breakdown of results in each month under Wenger and November sticks out as being the worst.

good result with your youth team, i already said this but its a shock that the toffees didnt win that. anyhow, i think these very same 11 lads should have a go at the prem ;) you never know it may just work

Awesome match (and some great goals to boot)!

Does anyone know why Lauren stepped up to take the penalty? It really surprised me that they'd pick Lauren above Henry, Reyes or Bergkamp.

B/C he has missed the last the 4 for his club.

Err no. Henry scored his last penalty against Panathinaikos. Before that he missed against Southampton which was his first miss for a long time.

Bergkamp hasn't taken a penalty since that semi final in '99.

I guess Henry didn't feel good about taking it so he left it to Lauren, who is third in the pecking order after Pires.

Brilliant rollercoster of a match.

Dunno why Freddie got man of the match. I thought Lauren was brilliant today. I'm not usually a fan of the guy, but he was real solid and good going forward today. Set up Henry's goal and took a good pen.

I didn't like they way we couldn't keep the 2-goal cushion for longer than 10 minutes. We really made it hard for ourselves.

Yeah, a 5-4 score-line makes for great viewing but it makes you wonder about Arsenal's defence (although I think it will be business as usual once Campbell returns from injury).

Despite what Mourinho had to say about the game (it was a disgraceful "hockey score"), I prefer matches where teams don't play in a negative way and try to clog up the midfield. Full credit to Spurs for pressing the game and letting the game flow back and forth for the whole of the 90 minutes.

Super, super derby. I watched it with plenty of Sp*rs fans and they were gracious in defeat, as always (always in defeat that is).

In hindsight though, we really need to work on defending our set-pieces. Vieira was again out-of-position several times like in the Southampton game. Hopefully, we'll get some more leadership back there when Sol returns.

I think it's deeper than that. We have Cygan, who's judgement is pretty good, but when he misses a ball, he LACKS sever pace to try to fix the error. Also, being told you're shit week in week out will obviously effect a player and i think it has got to him. He goes out with that mentality that he will make a mistake - hence he's VERY nervous on the ball.

Our defence is basically made up of 2 other 'converted' defenders. We have Lauren and Toure who are both defensive/side half midfielders. Hence, Wenger thinking of bring in Trabelsi on the right last summer. Toure and Lauren both lack jumping ability to clear the ball. Now all other teams do is rain balls into our penalty area or get a free kick on the left or right and they could be in. Wenger has spoken about bringing in a Centreback in January, and he is in talks with Beveren, our feeder club, to line up the permanent signing of Eboue, a strong Ivorian CB who is just 21. I think Wenger should give Senderos a nod as he tall enough and strong enough to repel headers. He's doing good in the centre of defence in FM2005! haha!

Last thing is our Keeper. I think he lacks the proper verbal command of the penalty area to organise our defence, like Sol would, and makes some absolutely dreadful descisions. He needs to be more vocal and stick to the line - not playing as sweeper sometimes. Paddy needs to be more vocal as well.. he's leading from the middle, not the back - and boy don't we all miss that ball winning mandolin playing Brazillian! :)

End of rant.

what do you lot think of Danny Karbassiyoon , he is american and im wondering how he is?
Good player although he's reaching the age where he'll either stay on and improve, getting more opportunities in the first team or leave. I like him, but unfortunately my bet is on the latter.

I feel that Saturdays game was a one off, most of the shots seemed to go in and yes we were a bit shaky at the back but not as bad as people make out. I am just happy we got back to winning ways and hopefully this is the start of another run for us.

Henry has hit the post with the last pen against Southampton, but guess he just wasn't up for it. Lauren took the penalty at Highbury when we beat Spurs last time 2-1... maybe he took it for Nostalgia! haha... i remember he used to take em for Cameroon.

Arsene Wenger mailed me and told me the following about the Lauren-Penalty:

Arsene Wenger said:
Lauren scored our second goal from the penalty spot. Thierry is the first-choice taker and Lauren was the second at White Hart Lane.

In 2002 when we won the championship Thierry was injured in a game against Tottenham and gave the penalty to Lauren. That is why he gave the penalty to him on Saturday.

Gilberto could be out for the rest of the season. I miss him now. :(

This means more pressure on Fabregas cos Flamini and Edu also injured.

Yeh true but Fabregas is probably tired now, and he has to play for at least another 3 weeks or so.

As in form. He's in top form, and Edu isn't at the mo. But I'm sure he'll start providing us with some of the briliance he produced last season, once he gets over his injuries.

Edu is a very quiet player, and his play is pretty forgettable. Watched all of the Brazil games in the Americas Cup awhile back and he wasn't anything special.
