that was a great goal by van persie to salvage a point from what was another disappointing performance. you can see the difference when sol isn't playing, just hope he isn't out for too long. and did anyone see cisse's leg breaking...ouch.

I'm only reading the UEFA web casting, was it really bad? They're normally completely unbiased, but have called it a 'gift' and 'soft', so I figure it must be comparable to good ole Rooney's dive...

But hey, a win's a win right?

Well it certainly aint looking clever lads, has that defeat to United hit the gooners more than they are letting on? Or are they really just naive in Europe?

From Soccernet -

Arsenal just cannot transfer their domestic form to the Champions League. Panathinaikos are far below the Gunners in class yet Arsene Wenger's side were held 1-1 by the battling Greeks.

Far below the gunners eh? Doesnt seem like it

When the Champions League 2004/2005 was drawn, I turned to my Gooner mate, and said "Mate, you should walk that group". After tonight, I`m not so sure. They just cannot cut the mustard in Europe, and we all know how badly the Gooners want the European crown.

Can somebody break Cygans legs? I'll pay. Fair play to Pana, they'll be delighted with a point, i'm surprised they didn't grab all 3 tjhe way Arsenal are playing, 3 games without a win now, 2 of them at home. Also, I would have loved to have seen Van Persie starting tonight.

I think thats very unfair on Cygan. As a defender you'd try and get anything on a goal bound shot, its part of your duty. Alright he has been poor in past games, but i think any defender worth their salt would have done the same thing.

Disappointed in Arsenal's showing tonight. I was hoping that they'd bounce back with a solid game. They seem to be able to do that after a disappointing loss. I hope Arsene can get the guys and the team back on track. About Cygan, looks like he's not an adequate deputy for Sol. I hope we get a solid defender during the transfer window. Still better to come away with a point than none at all.

Yeah, Van Persie is quality, I can see great things coming from him. Arsenal without Campbell is like United without Rio at the back, they just dont look the same force. I think Cygan is a liability, what other cover have you got?

Realistically. Senderos, Svard, Garry and Hoyte.

hmm, how come no one is calling viera a cheater? intresting, very inresting, i dont think he is, but to your guys standards he certainly is........

bit harsh that IMO, dont get wrong, he's a dirty bastard with all his red cards, spitting incidents etc but that was a pen, the guy had both arms round him FFS.

Anyway the mighty gooners still struggling in europe, I keep watching and waiting for the greatest club side in europe to turn up but still nothing....

Ok its a fair point, although lets wait until things are a bit more clear. A win and a draw will see us through. Remember we are still unbeaten in the CL and haven't even been in any danger of losing any of the matches.

How can you say that? You could of easily have lost any of the games you've played so far(ok maybe not the PSV one)...but especially last night, do you remeber the penalty miss before Panathanikos equalised?

I hear what ya sayin but do you really think any of your performances have been good enough??

Dont get me wrong im not saying that we're anything special in europe this year, of The Prem teams only Chelsea have impressed me, but then again we're not the ones chasing our first appearence past the 1/4's.....

I have to agree with Van here... our performances have been well below par (read: shite), and even i hate to admit it, but what the fuck is up with Henry and his fucking mood swings? He does seem to go la la when facing European competion, and United. The United performances from his last 2 games have been poor. We look like England in international matches. One ok'ish half, one fucking pap half. We need to fix up.. quick! With Campbell out for another month at least, we need a tough talker to sort out the back, and Paddy sure needs to rile the masses. The next three games at Palace, BluntSpurs and PSV, it's looking like we're going to have to do a great escape "ashley cole 89th min versus Kiev" style!

I think you have hit the nail on the head. Paddy is a good captain but is very quiet. This is fine when things have been going well, but when things are going against us I wanna see a bit of passion and encouragement, just like Big Tone just to do. Paddy just doesn't provide this. As for Thierry, he needs to cheer up a bit, the a right miserable git at the moment.

Well, we haven't even been behind in any of the games yet, and IMO have looked quite comfortable. Thats not to say we have been playing well, far from it mate. Going back to the Pana game, they had 1 shot on target all night so I would say we were pretty comfortable in that one too.

It's to do with the racist abuse he received from the pana fans.... so says the Evening Standard.

Henry criticises Greek supporters

Arsenal striker Thierry Henry has hit out at Panathinaikos fans, saying he was the target of racial taunts during the Champions League draw on Wednesday.
Henry scored from a penalty, but did not celebrate the goal, opting to stand still while glaring at the stands.

"Of 162 goals I've scored, I've not celebrated two against Panathinaikos," he told the Sun newspaper.

"And there is an explanation for that. They [the supporters] had been making monkey noises at me."

Henry continued: "After scoring, I just stared at the fans for a few seconds. What else could I do?

"I could not make a sign with my hands otherwise I would get into trouble.

"And what happens next - I get criticised from various people for the way I celebrated. Sometimes, I just cannot win."

Arsenal's black players claim to have received similar treatment during last month's trip to the Greek capital, when Henry also scored in a 2-2 draw.

Mighty Gunners? We were fucking shit! No Passing game at all, gave the ball away too many times! Well done to Palace to find out our crap defence, which Wenger can't see. We need a at least 1 central defender and 1 holding Midfielder a la Gilberto/Vieira. Vieira was brushed off too easy for the goal. Where's ya spine Paddy? I'm fucking pissed!

Who was that fella on the forums who said Arsenals season was over after their lose to Man U? The man is a fuckin prophet. Arsenal are done, may as well give the premiership to Chelsea.

lol, every team goes through a 'blip' as Sir Alex calls it. Arsenal are far from out of any of the competitions they are in. They just arent as unbeatable as some of their fans think they are!!

Arsenal are shithouse, given their current form even Spurs could beat em.
