Anth's FC24 Gameplay Mod

V17 is out on Patreon!

One feature I've been working on is the angle of tackling and creating more purposeful approach when thinking about your press. It's a really tricky one to get right, but I'm having a lot more fouls when tackling or even running into players from behind which really makes the off ball experience more deep as you can no longer just mindlessly run into players and take the ball. Again, very tricky and not a perfect science yet but progress is solid.

Here's a few examples.This first one wasn't even a tackle, it was just silly approach play. Kind of like how PES 2020 demo was for those who remember!





Also, this goal is a decent example of another feature of V17.

You can actually move defences around now, especially easier to teams of lower quality than the very elite. Before I think the scale wasn't quite right as I had to bring up defence so much from default, but it was too difficult to move around and find gaps against teams who weren't quite as good as you.

i find these body fouls a little bit to sensitive. When i played soccer in earlier years These body contacts where no foul.
If this little contact leads to more whistles you could easy destroy the whole game flow

There's a vanilla ref option as well. It's not super crazy foul, foul, foul - but it makes you just have to think a little more about spamming the button or even the way you approach. It just adds another layer of depth. It's also not based on contact from just any angle - it's specific to the area and the type. Again though, there's a vanilla ref option to remove this and it will be refined over time. Tricky area.

I havent loaded the files but when i use this vanilla Ref File, should this file have more priority in load order?

I've explained about TU10 at the very beginning of the Patreon post. It will come once Paul is able to update FMT. Until then it's out of my hands and it's probably out of his hands for the moment also.

Yeah vanilla ref option (or any option) always goes as priority.

ok, for now my patreon is off until i have more time to play. So i cant read the whole text.
Is ot possible to change this?That i can read all that stuff without seeing the download link?
My problem now is, i cant only make me a thing about this gifs and not really what changed. i cant really decide if i want that mod or not 😁

Oh you haven’t played it yet? Haha all good. I’m not at my PC now, but I can send the text from the post to you when I am.
 
If, of course only by accidential some of you Guys have updated your Game or didn´t stayed offline like placebo recommends in the post above you can download the TU 9 backup Files from my Mega account if requiered. The file size should keep inside the download limit of 5 GB at Mega.nz.
If somebody have an download limitation although my file is below 5 GB than write it here and I will redownload again on my Google drive.

I have two folders, one updated to TU 9 with mods for offline play, and one updated to TU 10 for Clubs.

I played Clubs the night the update came out just fine, then when I reverted to the TU 9 folder, I brought the EA App offline and I launched the game through the editor it apparently started complaining about the EA Anticheat not being installed and asked me to "restart the game through the EA App", and this goes on in a loop if I keep the EA App offline.
Then, if I bring the app online, it would not let me launch the game unless I update it.

The TU 10 folder obviously works like a charm, and that's what I can't understand. Isn't the anticheat just one?

Now I'm considering updating the "TU 9" folder to TU 10, launhcing the game once so the anticheat hopefully stops complaining, then reverting it to TU 9 with your files.

I mean, I get that the "anticheat" is also meant to check that a user launches the game without modifications (even if they're totally harmless), but hey... This is getting a little bit out of hand.

Yes, you should launch the game once with TU 10, Mate. This way the EA App kinda register the current Version. Just a usual Start via EA App Click on the Game. After you reach the main menu just close the Game. Than go offline in EA crap App and replace your T U 10 files with the TU 9 files in your game Folder. Than the game should launch via your Mod Manager. But first off all make sure you put the command line into EA App properties tab for launching arguments by clicking the 3 dots on your Game. This way I am always able to play with older TU‘s. Anyway, the App is still moody. If she had a bad day she let us feel it too. 😆

PS: this Anticheat moaning and complaining is what I also know well. Consider starting the game with Live Editor! It’s free and helps the modded game much better to overcome the Anticheat message than the Editor. I always use live Editor by launching him first and than launch your editor.

Another thing you can do if you don’t want launch with live editor, go inside your game folder, click the installer folder then click on Anticheat folder or could named EAAC or similar. Inside launch the given exe. Choose your FC24 game in the Tab above and execute either update or repair. Look what helps you more. First I would try update. Often the App seems to leave that necessary step by our own. Damn faulty app, man. 😏
I hope any of my advices could help you. Oh and last but not least sometimes Closing the App or restarting Pc helps too. What a mess…🤷‍♂️

Awesome! I also love the flying Goalkeepers. There is a gk save where he do a save and the ball touches the right post after the powerfull shot on goal. Reminds me on FIFA 16 VideoIntro where the goalkeeper make a similar save. As the FIFA 16 headline from EA was "FIFA 16, PLAY BEAUTIFUL" we came to this in EA(nth´s) FC 24. :APPLAUD:

The collisions between the Players feels just now what the game is in reality. Full contact sport named!

I wanna also honestly thank @Paul-v too for his ongoing work at his FMT Tool as I know Anth edit his gameplay also in FMT.
 
What an amazing experience I had with Anth James' Realistic Gameplay Mod - V17 default Version. I only tried the Referee addon on top. It plays smooth, it plays immersive, it plays dynamically.
It make me record this Video. A long one, Guys... But it shows in a long term the whole beauty of v.17 without any breaks. No need to watch the whole 16 min. but decide yourself. Oh, btw. don´t put the blame on me after you laughed me out while I am ridiculous missed my first penalty chance after months. I just forgot how to shoot penatlties in that game.
Anyway, the gp felt very smooth related to animations, the Players act and move even more like real ones. The ball roll speed is on the tin imo. I had really fun playing this 2x5 minutes - World Class Level - default Sliders - normal Game speed. If someone still hesitate to try out the mod this Gameplay could be your entry at all @SmichiW :))
It´s always a matter of taste related to speed, animations, Tackling behaviour, Positioning on the Pitch of both Team Players etc. So I just can speak for myself and I hadn´t expect another great step from v.16 which I also love. But the little changes doing the trick again with v.17. The ball freedom, the space to create an attack plan, looking for the next hole in the AI defense are fantastic.

Not forgot to mention the huge addon mods which Anth provides. I guess it took a whole weekend to check out every possible addon combo. I didn´t count the options in the mod, but at least a dozen. Cook and bake your individual Playstyle related to Game speed, animations, Positioning, goalkeepers, Referees and much more.
Congrats, Anth! This is something else imo.

 
@Anth James I can't believe all the work you've done with your mod. Just incredible. Quick question – and sorry if it's been asked (I did search for it before asking) – is your mod fully compatible with FIFER's Realism Mod or other mods? (of course excluding gameplay mods)

Hi, if you don’t mind I can answer you that questions. As long as you don’t use Fifers gameplay mod together with Anth’s mod you can play with all other modules from Fifers mod. Just don’t mix 2 gameplay mods and your good to go. I also use Fifers mod with Anth’s gameplay though. I would recommend placing Anth’s mod always at the bottom of your mod list in Mod Manager. So this way it haves the highest priority. You can literally use every mod beside a gp mod because the edited files are in another section of Frosty Editor. You can use turf mods, Career Mode mods, Camera mods, graphics stuff like Boots and of course Face mods.

@Anth James is there any chance or idea how to test the latest GP like some kind of demo version with 1-3 Hours testing?
I really dont know if i "like" the GP.
I know when its my taste of GP i would pay for it but i want not pay for something i had not tested, you know what i mean?
