But isn't that how it's supposed to be? To get a lot of dip you need top spin, to get top spin + power, you're almost always looking at the ball being off the ground and thus full/half volley.
I scored a few scremers with some plaers with their wrong foot outside the box (del piero, iaquinta, gilardino).
They should fix that, no way they can easily pull those kinda of screamers from 30 meters with their wrong foot.
A few other issues (slow triggers for changing players), but last night when i went back to my pes masterleague the game felt almost unplayble.
So i guess now that my renting time is over, i'll have to buy the full game, no way i am going back to pes (which was chosed because i thought fifa 10 was pretty poor in too many aspects)!!

Pros shouldn't have a wrong foot! I have scored screamers with my "other" foot IRL for christ sake.
Fair point Placebo - I just you-tubed a few screamers (like SG's long range goal in 2001 versus Man Utd) and there's little or no dip from the shots I was talking about.
@ Ulov3 - are you on manual shooting? I've noticed this game does actually weaken the chances of accuracy with your "weak" foot. Even short passing is more difficult so I'm wondering if you are on fully assisted?

You can't be serious? Some pro players don't even touch the ball with their weak foot and won't even attempt shooting from distance.
Anyway i was on fully manual for shooting, i only keep semi on passing because i am too used to PES, still trying to adapt to fifa.
I'm the same mate and I'm loving it so far (had it since last Friday and played it for 2 or 3 hours per night plus 2 or 3 hours during last weekend).
Just join some decent lads. Still i also quitted on line on most games and went back to the old time playing with some friends.

You're missing the point with the shot drop. I'm not after topspin dip, but gravity drop. Look at Nani's goal vs Boro as an example. It's knocking around on Youtube.
Besides, it's easy to look at screamers - perfect connections with the ball a la Steven Carr - and come away with the misconception that that is how all shots should travel. Look again at that group of four goals posted earlier. Have any of them even started to plateau by the time they reach the goal?

Cheers, am trying to pick between this and patching up a PC version of PES2010 to keep me occupied ot the 'real' games come out in August...have been FIFA for past 2 years but getting bored a bit.
Might pick it up this evenin with some trades.

This game is a dream for me. I had my poor Xbox360 on from 11am to 12pm yesterday playing this beauty. The game is just too darn addictive to put down for even a moment.
I am originally from El Salvador but raised in the USA, and yesterday I used my country to play against the US and scored one goal with Castillo where he elevated behind and above his defender in the box to blast a header into the net. The cross was perfect where the crosser lost his balance after crossing the ball and hit the ground looking very realistic and adding a sweet touch of realism and satisfaction to my goal.
The spooky thing about this goal is that this same player in real life scored the exact same goal against the USA in the Cuscatlan stadium in El Salvador qualifier last year. I jumped off my chair and was in total disbelief... the goal was Identical!
You can do things in this game and score many different goals like you would in real life. I do get that satisfying feeling when i score goals in this game. This game is not just about 1 on 1 breakaways with the keeper, it's a game where you can play any style you want to get more satisfaction out of it. Goalies are great, ball physics are great, long range shots are great, free-kicks are great. All in all, I'm in love with this improvement.

Yeh, that pretty much sums up what im feeling about this game too... They finnally made it... u can actually score all types of goals in this game, just like old time PES. Cant imagine how fifa11 will turn out...anyway, im having a blast too guys!
Not a chance IMO, it's just a tech demo for Fifa11, once you've done a couple of qualifications, a couple of world cups it's just stale due to the same teams with no "manager mode" experience.

Aha, surprisingly I just remember the bald, always injured Stephen Carr! Although admittedly he has had a great season for the Brum, but dear commentators, we don't need to be told every frigging match that he did indeed actually retire for 3 months before signing for Birmingham.......

I read in one of the FIFA forum that the there will be a number of DLC , one will be before the world cup , after the WC , before the FIFA 11...
each will contain new Kits for WC teams, kits for other teams which did not qualify (maybe all the missing teams kits will be offical ones I wish) , new senarios from the WC , and maybe unlock the edit mode so we can edit the players looks and abilities...
I wish that EA unlock the Edit mode and release a DLC for all the 199 teams offical kits
How come Konami in 2001 ISS for PS2 did have all the 180 national teams kits and likenese of players correct , why are EA so lazy to have all kit offical and they have exclusive rights to use the kits if they do not bother then let Konami use the kits for GOD seak...

Has anyone found out how you actually see what someone's match room settings are? I can't see a way of determining whether it is manual or assisted other than passing the ball around the back to see what happens.

just got the game on my PS3 for online.
playing on manual/slow/9 minutes half and with no double pressure the game is simply "FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC"!!!
too bad that offline it´s really boring, but the online with those settings is the best football gameplay ever.

Outside of the box shots seem pretty good but inside the box I just can't blast a low shot into the opposite bottom corner ala Robin Van Persie
I've done these with Cahill.
Don't hit them that hard and they wrong foot the keeper with precise reverse shots.
Played a few online matches and I have the FIFA bug again! Even though some tits are clearly assisted, I just enjoy playing my game (semi passing and everything else manual). Scored a nice shot with Tevez from about 18 yards into the far bottom corner to make it 3-3 in the 78th minute of a match. I jumped off my seat, haven't done that for a while

I haven't played FIFA10 for months, and in all honesty World Cup 2010 doesn't feel that much different than I remember FIFA10. The shooting has improved though, which is a great leap in the right direction. Still a long way to go though imo, some shots still feel way too floaty, some shots when the player uses the outside of his boot look stupid. But all in all it's great to be back.

I have an afiliation for Australia as a country so picked them as my second campaign.
Kewell is poo; 1 goal in 6 games so far. No surprise there but somehow he's stayed injury free so far.

Man, he is sucking big time. I doesn't surprise me though, I expect him not to last longer than a year in the MLS. Hope he proves me wrong. The best player from our Selecta is without a doubt Arturo Alvarez who plays for the MLS. He was born here and knows american soccer very well. He is also very talented with a nose for goal. It's too bad he wasn't 100% in the qualifications with our country.
Castillo has talent, but I think he will have much difficulty adapting to the physical soccer of the MLS. I noticed he gets pushed off the ball easy and spends a lot of energy just trying to push off big defenders to get by with his subpar speed. At times, he looks very slow and very lazy out there. He needs to play smarter and read the game, look for the spaces when they open and exploit them with passes or with his skills. He has a lot to learn and is young. Hopefully he'll adapt quickly.
Raul Diaz Arce, Cienfuegos, and Ronald Cerritos left big shoes to fill. This kid has to be strong mentally and keep pushing forward. Hopefully he'll succeed. He needs to pick it up and show his stuff. Time is money.

Haha had me cracking up that did.
The funny thing is though in the video description comments he has retracted all the stuff he said and the anger felt, all because he says he has adjusted the auto switching bar and turned it up some notches ???
Surely it doesn't make that much difference and 90% of his gripes would still be there with the game ?
Either way he's a funny guy with his tantrum in that video.

Don't get me wrong, I can score weaker shots rolling the ball into the far corner but i've seen some belters fly into the bottom corner from outside the box but it just doesn't seem possible to get this kind of power along the ground from shots inside the box.
