2010 FIFA World Cup

I ordered my copy (for PS3) off Play a few days ago, hope it comes today. My post doesn't usually get delivered until about 12pm because I live out in the sticks :(

Plenty of pretty cool and sportsmanlike people there to set-up manual/slow matches/tournaments and an ongoing (huge) league with conferences and playoffs which every 2 seasons culminates into a Champions League with players from both TAMFA and FUMA (a french website which also organizes full-manual leagues).

I had a look at the site Searain. Looks great but no way do I want to join a 100 game season league. Way too much commitment and would get boring.

Shorter leagues that finish within a few weeks and then start again (after promotion and relegation) after a little break are much better.

Some guys haven't played a game and some have played 20+. How does it all work?

Are their smaller leagues within the site??
 
Got mine from asda at midnight, gutted wales don't have new kit but just glad they are in the game, it's the only way we will feature in the fricking world cup. Scotland have the old diadora kit?

Why do they insist on having the normal 1-on-1 ranked matches played on Medium speed? After watching Barca-Inter for a half and then playing the demo, it is so apparent how hyper the gameplay is even on slow, compared to the real thing.

Should I really need to make it a huge project, hunting down players who are willing to not use Auto-aim or 5-star teams.

And, why is the balance of the game in general favoring defending by sprinting into the ball carrier, while trying to actually jockey and press like in real life is so unresponsive that the attacker needs to do only two moves to have your player fall behind by 5 meters.

I am just about ready to give up, after having the game for a day. I just got Live Gold for 3 months aswell, but I guess Red Dead Redemption will be useful for that.


I am not happy with this. I doubt I will get FIFA 11 if they don't reconsider their approach to this.

I feel your pain mate!

I have played about 5 games online and have not enjoyed one match. Im really thinking of packing in playing online as it makes my blood boil. I just dont see the enjoyment in playing fully assisted.

Had some really amazing fully manual matches on Fifa 10, so hopefully in time more manual players will become available to play.
 
Just played my first couple of matches.

Since around last Xmas, my FIFA fix has been FIFA09 on X360 (my FIFA10 disk has been stuck inside my ylod PS3, and I can't be arsed getting it fixed).

All I can say is that the difference between FIFA09 and WC2010 is essentially nothing. It's basically an identical experience to play.


And there's no doubt we'll be stuck with this same game engine until the next gen of consoles at the very earliest.


The grim thought is beginning to enter my mind that I might have to pin my hopes on PES to provide some kind of gameplay breakthrough in the next 2-3 years...

Yeah but ingame, the Wales looks OK though doesn't it? It's onlt Red with a bit of white down the sides anyway. A shame but if it looks OK when playing it will do.
 
my first game online Bulgaria 6 - 0 Italy - Italy have four men sent off (all the back line)

He was a weirdo...
 
Just got mine from game - their price is £39.99 - I paid zero for it due to trade ins.
 
Only just got round to playing the demo!

Really enjoyed it to be honest, much more fluid than F10, though the same niggles exist.

Not enough to pay full price, but I can see me caving in when I get a bad bout of World Cup Fever come June.

i cant beleive you can honestly say that without your nose growing... did you not notice the skill moves, the one touches and give and go's are not impossible on manual and the shooting has improved...

Have you ever yeen any positive reply about anything in the whole wide world made by him? No matter if it's PES or FIFA, they're true gems once winston says how terribly fucked up they are :)

nah the one in hamburg... fulham vs athelitco, i think it would be cool even for a neutral... perhaps, but again i only get to see that kind of amotshphere at a soccer game two or three times a year(you guys probably wouldnt beleive me but DC United fans are pretty intense in the barra brava)

Ah, haha, sorry :) I'm a Bayern supporter, so there's plenty of finals for me to choose this season ;)

Good question, though. Maybe I should give this a thourough thought as I really didn't think of it yet.

I am here to preempt those who come on every year claiming this year's incarnation is the most amazing, perfect football game ever, and last years (which was the most amazing, perfect football game ever) is now the biggest load of shite ever.

They eventually come round to my point of view...they just lag behind me by 12 months.

What were you expecting? that has been what all football games online are all about, why would you expect any different from this?

The only way you stop doing that is to play manual people, but that ain't going to happen naturally for a few more years.

The only way to play is by arranging with somebody who you know. The best games online are with people playing manual :DD

i dont think its amazing, but it is an improvement over 10, there is no doubt about that, the game does keep getting better...... that is good for all of us
