eFootball (All Platforms)

my 2 cents:
PES 2021 is one of the best PES games I have ever played....period!
But.....modded specially with gameplay patches. What these guys get out of the game with their patches is amazing! KONAMI should hire all of you!
Even master league is becoming very enjoyable with this.
Ball physics is more free, AI behaviour, even some animations seem to be "unlocked" or being pulled out of the dark as there are situations happening which are full of coincidence. This brings the "anything can happen" feeling and PES magic back, specially when you play full manual.
These gameplay patches can´t fully erase the flaws in the gameplay, but they can ease them.

Can´t touch the vanilla version of this game anymore.

But they aren't gone, they'll be added in for eFootball 2022.

But since your guys controlled by CPU are so brain dead they just let players walk free in dangerous positions, there is absolutely no awareness of other players around them.

This is FUT players want the game, and online I am sure games will easily end up being 20-19.

And there's no real game there until they are. I honestly think talking about pes2022 is pointless until all the teams are added and the single player mode is out . But even then I hold no hope as konami stated they don't value the single.player game. So I would expect minimal effort and the same drab one dimensional AI. Look for the forward in space on the edge of the box , turn and shoot 90,% of the time

I think it could’ve have been but is just too sluggish and the sleepy AI kill it for me.

If the AI can get passed these glaring issues then I would consider investing in a decent PC.

Which mods are you talking about? I guess they can only be aplpied to the PC version of the game, right?

Yes, PC only. They're worth trying for the PC as they're so easy to install (simply replace a couple of files) but my experience with them all is that the effects are fairly marginal rather than transformational....it is still very much PES21 with all its warts. Personally, I still prefer the PS4 version at DP2 to any of the gameplay mods I've tried for PC.
 
I'm at the point where something new is going to show us konami I feel nervous instead of satisfaction...

I've watched the "PES 6" and "FIFA 2013" gameplay patch videos, and is it just me or is there no difference other than looking like it's running in slow motion? I don't understand what relation these are supposed to have to the original games. I have as much desire to play these as the vanilla version (i.e. none), if anything the clips of FIFA 2013 just reminded me of how little football games have progressed.

Yeah true, just seen people talking about the videos like it was a given there was something impressively different about them, I feel like I'm the only one who is scratching their head wondering what the videos are supposed to show. I picked up maybe increased first time shot speed but that's about it.

I dont know the relation with the 'pes6' or 'fifa13' thing. The owner of the video said that he plays with full manual, superstar and -2 speed and he claimed that script is removed. I dont know if its placebo or not but i think the a.i made more errors and i dont see the moment where you know the a.i are gonna score 100% from the video at least. The game is less end to end too and less ping pong (maybe because of the reduce speed) (and sorry for the off topic since no new news about efut)

Even if they tweaked in those gameplay mods the gameplay itself adjusting it to make situations more "free", still there isn't there because at its core was programmed like that... There are some changes in terms of physics where the ball can go, but that you can also feel with the manual controls.

There are unimproved mechanics in the base game such as: moving with the ball on your feet like a magnet, almost non existing dribbling motions where you can't pull the ball far away from your body to do fast counters opening in that way unexpected scenarios and rewarding dribbling, ball that was programed to be deflected from the same parts of the body in defense, GKs that are unrealistically good being prepared in the air even before you take the shoot on the top corner, the 1 vs 1 on contact animations that are unfinished where the referee is giving faults even without a contact at all, penalties that are non existent vs AI, and so on... Even if they did great with ball physics (also the base game did) it's difficult to change the entire gameplay to be adjusted to a more PES 6 or PES 2013 experience...

I'm missing the "freeness" from the classic iterations, where was existing that feeling of touching the ball in a different manner and noticing its weight on impact from a first touch, shoot or cross; deflection leading to weird situations like own goals; surprise scoring from crosses or weird deflections; manipulate to pull the ball far from your body creating some memorable dribbling & attacking scenarios; manipulate the ball from a cross or long pass without doing a perfect stop and creating unique but surprising actions, intense and frequent faults on contact, handballs & penalties, GKs that shouldn't be buffed to fly like superman... stuff like that made gameplay great, at least from my perspective...

Speaking about the next week Gamescom presentation, could be a chance that they were working all the time during those 2 years to improve the 2020 mobile version that was already made in Unreal Engine and adapt it for the console/PC instead of working on it exclusively from the ground up for the consoles/PC and adapt it later on the phones?

I can't get rid from my mind that circle indicator from the players that showed where the ball should go and those weird cheap animations (without taking in count the mobile graphics). Those hunts me so badly like Freddy Krueger wanting to rape me in a nightmare...

If you somehow believe that SF V is an unresponsive game then there is no point in arguing with you.
Animators either are good at their jobs and have resources or don't and aren't.

MLB The Show is not an unresponsive game.
NBA 2k is not an unresponsive game.

PES and FIFA have bad animation because it's not a concern (since most people don't actually care) and it costs money they're not willing to spend, it's that simple. Not because of some 'it's unresponsive' boogeyman. What's actually unresponsive is your player locking into 2 possible directions when receiving a pass, away from the ball and towards it. That's unresponsive. You're pressing a different direction and the game locks your player into a possibility of two because it's still built with 2005 sensibilities.

A fighting game is different. The only concern there is punching and kicking. Press a button and and the character will execute an action. Off course this is arcade, they can perform multi hit combo's without even take balancing or momentum into consideration. For example, they can slide over the ground, get up in a split second, make backward flips and give a high kick the moment they land etc. Would this be ultra realistic it will also be unresponsive, because you had to wait for the character to find his balance etc.

With a football game you have to take into consideration the player receiving the ball, finishing the 'receiving' animation, start the animation to get in the right 'realistic' position and then start the passing animation.
And because all of these animation are super realistic it takes a few milliseconds before the pass is made. Sure its realistic as hell, but I think this is a part of the sluggishness. I dont really know what the solution is, maybe speed up the animations itself, or maybe it can be fixed with good coding.
The last thing you say I also agree with, but this has been in pes for ages, its called scripting.

His point was that.. now the engine itself give you all tool to make great movements, but you need to do the work. Maybe Street Fighter is not a good example, NBA 2k too, which as far as I can remember had a huge problem with the animations transitions and for many years tried to look natural.
Lets take Mortal Kombat! MK uses the same Unreal Engine, it's fast and responsive, the game looks and moves wonderfully. Yes, PES is not fighting game and .. the players can't make FATALITYS as Sergio Ramos to tear off Lewandowski's balls, or Messi to hide Ronaldo's eyebrow tweezers, but the transitions of animations are fantastic, they looks so smooth and natural... and all this is due to the engine but mostly to the people working on the game they know what they are doing, i can't same for Konami.

Yes @Dillion is saw that post but already talking about my vision of "responsiveness" in a football, sports games.
Compare it to UFC, which is a simulation, there's a certain time related to what's physically possible before a punch or a kick was lauched.
All that you mentionned. Same in a sport game, same in Fight Night, the future Esport Boxing club who are fighting games but realistic.
Same as inertia in Top Spin 4. They're all sports games, so the time to execute an action should be at least realist in the execution speed (even 0.10 sec faster as it's 90 minutes for 10-12 minutes)
And even on every SF, the time between a weak/average/strong punch varies, they at least keeped a certain physicality logic (fortunately) even if it's an arcade game. That remind me a certain game from EA i saw vids from a beta not so long ago. Sorry it's not the thread or comparative but i really think that when you surpass a bit too much what's physically doable IRL.

The standard should have been based on 12 minutes at least for PES, just change it for PS4 versions. Well Fifa 22 seems to be calibrated to match for 10 minutes when i see the scores lol, but it isn't, 6 minutes since... Don't remember, but a long time.
 
Player locomotion is everything going too far you will get input-lag fest like Red Dead Redemption 2.

They need to strike a balance between player/character responsiveness and fluid animation.

I think this mostly concern the animation blending process.
 
Ufc undisputed 3 had it done perfectly. You don't notice any input lag while playing and the animations are very well done. Give it a shot.

Let me guess.. and it's for mobile right? I'm judging by those circle + arrows indicators. Looks like some bare bones Chinese discounted Ali Express version of eFootball made from asset flips that I can play it while I'm relaxing on the toilet. Don't care about those types of "games" because are thousands of them on Google Play Store...
