Wait, what?
They say they've got an MLS license?
Yeah, definitely.Probably just the player names and likeness license, the league and the teams will be fake. Probably they did this because they want the database to be larger because of the new online mode that will replace Myclub.
Yeah, definitely.
Everything says to me they're not really looking at leagues or even team licenses any more. Only players.
Why bother with league/team licenses? You don't need them for myClub-style play. Everyone makes a fake team.
Also, they cost a fortune. So... If they ever do make a ML add-on, it's going to be unbelievably barebones. I would be tempted to bet they'll go back to the old PS1-style fake European super league format, with no separate "country" leagues. Which isn't the end of the world - but it shows how "serious" offline play is dead.
A:There are a number of reasons for this, but one of them is the new game engine, which we started working on about two years ago as the current generation consoles such as the PS5 were coming out. The introduction of this new engine was one of the triggers. Another reason is the change in the market environment. Many of today's customers are of the "app generation," which means they are accustomed to the basic free-to-play, pay-for-items style of games, and this has become the norm. We have been thinking for a long time about creating a larger platform, partly because we are focusing on e-sports. At that time, the introduction of the new engine and changes in the market combined to give us the right timing. We made the big decision to change the title and unify the brand as a way to take a major step forward, because it would look like a simple change if we continued as before. That's why the name "PES (Pro Evolution Soccer)" has been used overseas until now, but we will unify that name with "eFootball" as well.
A: On social media, many people said they would miss the game. I'm of the generation that has been playing "WIELET", so I understand that. However, I also received a lot of comments from people who are looking forward to the future. I am very grateful for that, and I will do my best.
A: I think this is just the way the market is going, and as I mentioned earlier, many customers are now playing games with free basic play and item charges. Some of the titles of other companies that use this format are also very popular, so of course we took that as a reference. However, the main focus is on e-sports. We are aiming to create a large e-sports platform called "eFootball". Any soccer fan can participate immediately. Anyone who is a fan of soccer can participate in eFootball and enjoy playing against people from all over the world. We wanted to create such an environment, so we set that as our main goal. The barrier to participation rises when you have to pay a fee. In order to lower this barrier as much as possible, we decided to make it free. The only way to make it possible for people to participate at any time was to make it free to play, so we took the plunge this time.
A: We've already answered this on SNS, but we're thinking of making "Master League" a paid DLC. However, not all modes will be paid for, for example, the "Edit Mode" which is necessary for all players will be a free update, and we will change the strategy of free and paid DLC to make it easier for people to play.
A: We're still working on that, but for the single-player mode, we're going to offer it in the form of a "whole game! But for the single-player mode
A: To sum it up, it will change. The theme of the gameplay this time is "one x one". Of course, soccer is a team sport, but the fun of a soccer game lies in the "one-on-one" aspect, in the anticipation between the attacker and the defender, so that's what we're trying to promote. If we did that, we would have to make various changes to the game, such as how the controls should be adjusted, or how this would be more natural. We decided that it would be better to leave the existing ones behind and create everything from scratch. For those who are used to the existing controls and have been playing the game for a long time, they may feel that the controls are different at first. We received such comments during the test play the other day, but this change was made to express the fun of "one-on-one". So I believe that you will soon get used to the new controls and will be able to play the game without feeling uncomfortable. Also, not all controls will be changed, such as the move with the left stick, the shoot button, and the through pass button will remain the same.
A: Yes, since it's one-on-one, when the attacker dribbles, do you retreat to delay the attack, or do you attack to win the ball? If the defender attacks, how will the attacker dodge? The controls are designed to make this part of the game enjoyable.

New Interview
Q:The name change from "Winning Eleven" to "eFootball" had a great impact. It must have been quite an adventure, but could you tell us how you came to change the title?
Q: What was the reaction from users after the announcement?
Q: The fact that the game is "free to play" on all devices also seems like a drastic change. Could you tell us how this came about?
Q: You mentioned that some contents and modes will be subject to charges.
Q: When I purchase "Master League", will I be able to play this mode in its entirety? Or will there be the basic part first, and then new elements will be added as needed?
Q: Will the operation change as well?
Q: You mentioned that you emphasize "onex one," but is this also reflected in your defensive maneuvers?

This is false advertising on another level.
They even lied about which engine is game using.
I thought it was going to be a tweaked Fox Engine build using UE for the rendering layer, and that seems to be what they are aiming for. Looking at it I'm doubtful if anything other than the visuals are based on UE, the animation system for example looks uncannily similar to before, it's hard to believe you would go to an entirely new engine and aim for a 1:1 replication, you'd surely aim for at least some modest improvements as you went through the process.
Weird, they never presented their scanned Spanish and English league players as La Liga or EPL players. Weird they would use the title MLS in the trailer if they dont have the league licensed too. So probably they have it.
Right, so its the equivalent to FIFPRO. My bad, also confusing. They are not using MLS in the title. MLSPA is a different thing (PA = Players Association). It's obvious it's about individual players, not the league.
I play pes 2021 another year then
